I love how the writers dealt with the aftermath of Chuck and Blair not meeting up in Tuscany. They didn't move on, they had no interest in dating other people, and spending the Summer apart has only deepened their passion and love for each other.

Yes. It was quickly established in the show that Chuck has the stronger connection with Blair and that Nate's heart is with Serena. Chuck opens up to Blair about wanting his father's approval. Her dance in the Burlesque club revealed her wild side, only for Chuck. Nate was only with Blair for status and it made her act like a desperate fool. She matured with Chuck who waited in the wings for her, distracting himself with girls who meant nothing to him.

@@iluvlafferty it’s implied that he had preexisting feelings. I think Chuck, Blair & Nate were all old friends. They knew each other since kindergarten. Blair says she started dating Nate when she was 12, so she’s in the midst of outgrowing that relationship when the series begins- she’s 16 in the first few episodes. Blair is Chuck’s only female friend, and they seem very close. He respects her, and I think had a thing for her that he repressed out of respect for Nate. Chuck otherwise acts like women are disposable. He doesn’t even have much respect for Serena in S1, despite also knowing her a long time & running in the same social circles. Whereas with Blair, he actively tries to help her relationship with Nate until they break up.

I figured it was so hard for Chuck to say “I love you” because it’s never been said to him. Bart probably didn’t say it. I bet Nate said it in a brotherly way, since they were childhood friends. Blair is the first person to ever say it.

Not really. She breaks up with Nate at the end of S2 because of her feelings for Chuck. They date for nearly all of S3. She even forgives him twice, and they would’ve stayed together in S4, but she got kicked out of some society thing because of Chuck’s reputation. She was also going to leave Louie for him in S5, but they both nearly died in a crash. She felt so much guilt, she married Louie anyway. Dan was kind of a crisis rebound. I don’t think she felt anything more for him but friendship tbh, and didn’t want to be alone after losing her baby & Louie turning against her

he grew up not having that word being used... his father never said that to him. His father always pushed him to be great in business and taught him to be cold-hearted. His mother did prob when he was young but then she died. He always was putting up a front for his feelings. He never had feelings for anything, it was always material feelings that he had....if you saw the end of season 1 his father told chuck before the summer started that chuck was growing up and becoming a man for being in a relationship with blair, but chuck didn't like that because that meant responsibility and he then backtracked and left blair hanging...so that's why lol
