SOUTH AFRICAN GRAND PRIX - COLOUR

(18 Mar 1979) At the Kyalami Circuit in South Africa rain stopped the Grand Prix and it was re-started after a change of tyres for all but Jody Scheckter. The race developed into a battle between the Ferrari's of Villeneuve and Scheckter, but the Canadian Gilles Villeneuve managed to hold the lead and take the chequered flag first.
