Katie Douglas has to be one of the most underrated young actresses in Hollywood. Her playing Abby in Ginny & Georgia, Lisa McVey in Believe Me and Kara Robinson is incredible. I really hope that the rolls haven’t taken a toll on her and I hope she knows she such a good actress who everyone should respect❤

the movie is really sad to watch but its so good. Katie Douglas actually played two kidnapping movies, one is called The girl who survived and the other is called believe me. both are based on true storys and both of them are so good, can reccomend to watch if you can handle it

She does a great job, though. Always such a great job.
I totally agree. I thought i was the only one but glad im not. she is typecasted and its crazy how she can look like both girls totally different, like lisa is beautiful but also plain strong and just deals, kara is younger and sweeter and survives the same, thats how amazing she is. Its a wonder their stories (Karas and Lisas) arent put together because they are hellishly similar. i feel they put peoples stories together saying theyre the same but theyre really not. Like Elizabeth smart was kidnapped and abused for 9 months in a campsite and then moved around, Alicia Kozac was abducted from the internet and kept in a bdsm dungeon where she was tortured for sadistic pleasure. Both rape cases yes both abuse, both strangers, but alicias was a stranger in a chat room, Elizabeth had already met her kidnapper briefly.
Both different and there are other cases like ive mentioned that i feel are more similar and that are still famous but never seem to be put together. An amazing movie both of them, big kudos to all the actors that have played abduction victims (I Am Elizabeth Smart-Alana Boden, Believe me the abduction of lisa mcvey/The girl who escaped story of Kara Robinson-Katie douglass, 3069 Natatcha kampuch-Antonia Campbell and Amelia Pidgeon, Cleveland abduction michelle knight-Taryn Manning etc . I think they should make a movie of Alicias Abduction, cos it would teach kids to be safe on the internet even more important now. Incredible movies, hard watch and very triggering but amazingly doen. I also like it when it shows it cos leaving it to imagination makes me stress.
This is one of my biggest fears knowing that there people out there that is like that😢

Based on a real story
i loved this movie tbh but, i feel like the escaping was really quick lol. NOT LIKE you NEED to be kidnapped longer bc ik i WOULD NOT want that, i would want tot get the hell out of there. but like ig it was okay to see the problem solving happen and im glad it didnt take as long as the lisa mcvey one did. im glad they believed this woman..
