A lot of the time most comedy can become very dated over the years, but these two are as fresh & hilarious as ever. Mel’s expression’s & timing are absolutely incredible. Love them both! ❤️❤️
Why is it always the dead ones people miss? What about poor old gryff thats still alive will he only be funny when he is dead?. Adriane Edmunson is on the same boat since Mayall died too.
Had this on in the background while working. Haven't laughed so much in ages! Way ahead of their time, could do with someone with their with and talent about now.
I went to a Wellington, New Zealand show of these two, brilliant. They did a face-to-face about the Rainbow Warrior: "I see they caught those two French spies who blew up the Rainbow Warrior in Auckland, and sentenced them to ten years" [pause] "Ten years in Auckland, that must be terrible!" They had to wait 5 minutes for the Wellington audience to stop laughing, totally underestimated how good that joke was! Wellington audience, Auckland joke, 5 mins laughing.
U watch dem en fall in love with so many kinds of of humour ... britisch, black, foolish, naive ... name it. Hilarious. Couldnt get my tapes to running anymore. Thx 4 sharing.
Oh my word! Four hours of Smith and Jones head to heads! I haven't even started watching yet, and I'm already saying thanks so much for the effort in putting these together. I really look forward to making my way through them.
What a fantastic achievement this is, the funniest video on TH-cam! Watched it in 10 to 15 min chunks over many weeks and it has been a joy! Thank you!!!
"South London's premier philosophers bring their searing intellect to bear on major issues and concerns of the age with, frankly, frightening results." From the Head to Head "The Conversations" bundle. Thanksabunch Palle for all the work and uploading 👍.
So now do you guys have a British slant on humour or are you more Americanised because of TV, the internet and contact Looking back Britain has become more US I'd say Also if you use : it the time stamp it jumps to it, like... 2:10:40
@@somethingelse4878 \ Thanks for the tip Karl! I personally am not a great admirer of American TV, except for a few of the drama series like ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Westworld’ and the like, but I have been a huge fan of British comedy since I was a teenager. The current crop of US TV comedies, with a few exceptions, are in my opinion, just not funny. Admittedly, neither are some of the current British shows, again with a few exceptions. I think you will find that most Australians do have a British slant on humour as you suggest. Particularly those around my age (late 60’s), as we grew up with it. But each to their own I guess. Cheers!
33:25 - Griff says "like a paddy field" and some people might not understand what this means. A "paddy" field was a field where rice was grown. And has nothing derogatory to do with the Irish as some people though back when this first aired.
Either the House party 3 soundtrack or a Van Halen single (in a round metal tin, no less) I could be wrong about both of them. It might have been Speaking in tongues by Talking heads. I can't remember, I'm going to bed.
@ 17:00. Maybe we should show this to the climate change nutters. That’s how theories and data look when this came out in the 1989’s we were told we were heading for a new ice age. Remember that. People would do well to remember how ‘inaccurate’ science and theories can be when they listen to government and activists today. Nothing is set in stone and it can be wrong.
Was most of this scripted or improv? As going by the 'Most women will suck you dry' looks like Griff wants to laugh. And Mel taking p outta Griff trying to say "Hi IQ" "Hi I, I I, IQ." 🤣🤣🤣
Ten years since Mel's passing. Thanks Mel for this brilliant legacy.

Can't tell you how much I miss these two, Mel Smith is my favourite comedy actor, God bless him.
Why is it always the dead ones people miss? What about poor old gryff thats still alive will he only be funny when he is dead?. Adriane Edmunson is on the same boat since Mayall died too.
Good point. Let us appreciate people while they are still with us.👍
Well, mainly because he's dead. You can't miss someone whos fkin alive can ya?..
We don't miss Gryff because he's still with us
This is an absolutely awesome upload. Thanks for making such an effort for this marathon compilation.

As an Aussie, I found the the H to H at 2.10.40 to be hilarious. I have always loved these guys, their comedy was the best of British!

Either the House party 3 soundtrack or a Van Halen single
(in a round metal tin, no less)
I could be wrong about both of them.
It might have been
Speaking in tongues
by Talking heads.
I can't remember, I'm going to bed.
Griff: "My granddad smoked 500 a day".
Mel: "Chain-smoker?"
Griff: "...John Player" 🤣
Awesome
The original podcast.
50:10 Gawd bless ya, Dame Vera. Rest in peace.
44m 38s.... prophetic words.
Colin’s Sandwich was his best work
Finally, a fellow Colin's Sandwich enthusiast! Wonderful series. One of my favourite comedy series, in fact.
personally I found it as funny as a hernia. Huge Mel Smith fan but I thought that was terrible - sorry.
I have been watching Colins Sandwich on a loop for years, it's my go to comfort blanket, my favourite scene is when he does the wedding speech 😂
The big "E"!
16:17 that sketch aged quite well I think
How do they keep a straight face ?
