You are being kind - thank you for that. It was the first project I ever shot on film and I think it shows. The knife however is amazing, it is the only one I use in my kitchen now. See you in the next one! ✌🏽🌻
Hi. Thanks for the nice comment. I recently released another knife video you might enjoy as well and I am currently working on a third. Check out this one and let me know what you think. th-cam.com/video/U9Bw4PuFSFs/w-d-xo.html. Hopefully I'll see you there! Thanks again!
As a fellow restorer I really enjoyed this video. So many people tend to over do it or simply throw the wooden scales away. Well done, Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺
I have this exact same knife! Got it from my Grandad’s stash of stuff. I started restoring it several years ago, but got stopped I. The middle of a move. Mine has a little more surface problems and I had to replace the handle (it has unfinished/y shaped wood on it right now). Great work! I need to finish mine, now.
The blade was incredibly thick compared to knives made now and it has held an edge so well. It is the only knife I use now for everything in the kitchen. I just have to remember to clean and dry it well after use or it will begin rusting! Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
Thanks! And thanks for struggling through my first ever video. I used this knife not even two hours ago to cut up some beef for a slow cook stew I am making today. I haven't had to sharpen it in three years and I use it all of the time. I love this thing!
Wow I have this knife and this is rhe forst video I've seen with a case xx that looks like an old hickory.. I've looked on yputube forever .. mine isn't super rusty jst stained and patina..but itnsharpens easily and is a good all around knife for camping for me atleast..like a small machete camp food prep and other things
This has been the only knife I've used in the kitchen since I clean it up. It keeps a super sharp edge and feels really good in hand. Thanks for the comment!
Very nice and informative video. I'm curious as to why you didn't remove the scales to deal with the rust on the tang. It seems the extra effort would have made it a more complete job. Just saying.
It might have but there really was no need. Just needed to clean everything up to use it again. I use this almost every day now in the kitchen. Love it! Thanks for the feedback!
I stand corrected my old blind eye didn't see the case logo on blade many companies made that same pattern I have had several of those case knives none were marked on the handle for an everyday use they are hard to beat 😳
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. In the video description I wrote that it may be more of a super cleaning than restoration but it has been restored to full use so there's that I guess. Cheers!
Sigo usando este cuchillo casi todos los días en mi cocina tres años después de hacer este video... la restauración estuvo bien. ¡Gracias por los comentarios! 🍻
It did say Old Forge but every example of a Case knife from this series I found photos of online had the same handle. Maybe someone else made them for Case? Thanks for visiting the channel and for commenting. Cheers!
Thank you all for watching my channel debut video! Please subscribe to see new content weekly. Cheers!
Finally someone that cleans a good knife instead of destroying it .
Thanks. I still use this knife for everything in the kitchen. It's fantastic.
You started your journey with a great job 🤗

Nice job, We all need to restore / renew more versus replace.
I could not agree with you more. Thanks for watching and please stay tuned to see what else I'll be restoring.

Yep it was time to get serious at that point! Thanks for watching!!
Enjoyed the rust remover music !
Thanks! I don't use music anymore. Most folks didn't enjoy it. ✌🏽
Very good job
Thank you so much 😀
Hi. Just found you. This is an inspiration for me to work on the 2 knives I have that I found somewhere - who knows now, it's been forever.
Thanks! This was actually my first video from two years ago. It's been a while since someone commented on it. 🙂
Great job
Thanks!!
Nice work and good job sharpening
Thanks! Just used it this evening and it is still as sharp as the day I filmed this. Thanks for visiting my channel. Cheers!
Outstanding.
Thanks!
Very nice! It reminds me of the Old Hickory knives, but this looks like much better quality than them.
The blade was incredibly thick compared to knives made now and it has held an edge so well. It is the only knife I use now for everything in the kitchen. I just have to remember to clean and dry it well after use or it will begin rusting! Thanks for the comment. Cheers!
Dope AF results, @Restorology.

@@Restorology Don't mention it. You're too kind already!

I just checked out your channel and realized that I saw your video restoring the grass clippers about a month ago...great job as well!

What is the blue solution you used with sanding?
It was just water with some detergent added for lubrication. Thanks for asking! 🍻
I stand corrected my old blind eye didn't see the case logo on blade many companies made that same pattern I have had several of those case knives none were marked on the handle for an everyday use they are hard to beat 😳
I use this knife for everything now. I am amazed at how well it has held an edge. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers!
Amazing restoration!
Thank you!
Temos muito wue aprender.
Will mineral oil work for preserving wood also?
I believe mineral oil is used on cutting boards so I guess so but I imagine it would need to be reapplied every so often.
So what’s the blue liquid?
Water and detergent I believe. It's been a while since I recorded this video.
👏👏👏👏👏
Not many people watch my first video anymore. Thank you! 😀

More of cleaning rather than restoration.
Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. In the video description I wrote that it may be more of a super cleaning than restoration but it has been restored to full use so there's that I guess. Cheers!
Vídeo muy lento para mí gusto

Всё ОЧЕНЬ медленно ‼️
Я знаю! Мои первые несколько видео заставляют меня съеживаться, когда я смотрю их сейчас. Я стараюсь их не смотреть. Спасибо за критику!
