Crosshair is that veteran with PTSD that needs a dog to help with his nightmares.
Would like to point out something I noticed, Crosshair specifically put Mayday's helmet next to the helmets of Hexx and Veetch, he wanted the last three survivors of the Barton 4 security unit to be together, it also says a lot that Crosshair took the time to put the other security trooper's helmets onto the memorial when the only 3 troopers from that unit he met were Mayday, Hexx, and Veetch :(
The fact it’s inside implies the stormtroopers had the decency to bring it inside and lay it amongst the rest of the fallen soldiers

The scene that got me was Crosshair & Hunter with Batcher walking back to the group.
It brought me back to Crosshair bringing back Mayday - the subtle parallel of it.
A sort of redemption session for Crosshair

Love the episode, return of Crosshair, Omega, Echo. Return to that planet a year to the day the last episode on that planet went up and return of Crosshairs toothpick! And you were spot on with the Batcher/Crosshair thing, Crosshair kept saying WE when they were helping Hunter and petting her at the end.
I love that music when Crosshair puts the helmets on top again.
Batcher is Omega's pet and Crosshair's therapy dog. I'm so here for it.

First time I heard Crosshair chuckle that I remember was in this latest episode when Omega called him "little brother" and that's honestly effing amazing to me

Can we take a moment to admire how much the animation and effects for snow and ice have come? It's a massive upgrade from that moon where Zeb met his future bestie Kallus.
Crosshair's arc has been the highlight of this show. Season one fleshed out his character and showed how unyielding and absolute his loyalty is. By the end, he wanted his brothers to join him but would not sacrifice what he believed. Season two showcased his Imperial life and exposed how his beliefs meant nothing to those he served. He rebelled. Season three showed how he gave up and accepted the consequences of his decisions. But after hope is forced upon him, he escapes and rejoins his brothers... and sister. And the killer pet. I am excited to see what comes next for them. I hope that, at some point, he repaints his armor to signify his complete reunion. Unlikely, given his personality and unsteady hands, it's still something to hope for. Welcome home.
Keep in mind that a few other clones lived on. Remember Cut and his family. Also the clone in Obi Wan holding out his helmet for money. So SW lore allows for more clone survivors. So you keep holding that candle out for whomever you want. You never know!
Louise glad you noticed the attachment that Crosshair has with Batcher and I loved how she licked his face when they were escaping in the last episode. You explaining how Crosshair is a dog dad was great. I am a real OG SW fan since the New Hope came out the same month I graduated from HS. One of my most memorable lines in all of SW is when Leia said "would someone get this walking carpet out of my way." BTW you looked fine in your cosplay of May Day.
For what its worth, I absolutely love how you just throw your whole self into these reactions. We can all ride the highs and lows together.
Another big chatacter episode off the back of last week. As soon as I saw the base i started getting chills for Crosshair, and then all the helmets. That was a great scene to shownus what Crosshair was feeling as he picked the helmets up as well as letting Hunter know something big happened to crosshair and seeing him show respect to the fallen squad from here.
If it helps Echo Base from Empire Strikes Back is just the phonetic alphabet. It merely implies there were Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta bases. I mean I guess somebody could try donsome weord thing, but certainly wjen George wrote it in the 70s he was just counting.

I can tell this episode will go down as one of your favourite Bad Batch episodes
I forgot who said it in their video on this episode, the Ice Vulture seen on Barton 4 is meant to represent Crosshair. Vultures are scavengers, they will survive through the toughest conditions, eating only on scraps of dead animals Their only goal in life is to find their next, that is all their life is, they survive for sake of surviving. For the longest time, that was Crosshair. He believed all he had in life was being a soldier, that was all he wanted. It didn't matter what he was asked to do, where to go, who to kill to remain in service, he'd do it if it kept him useful to the Empire. He survived for the sake of surviving.That Vulture followed him all throughout Episode 12 of last season waiting for him to drop, so it could have its next meal. That Vulture cared for him as much as the Empire did. But Crosshair ignored that, believing that if he kept himself useful, then he would be kept apart of the Empire and hide the fact he was secreting hurting about not being with his brothers. But, it was only when the Empire pushed him so far, showed him how little he and all the Clones were valued, when he reached his breaking point, did he realise this life, livings scrap to scrap, wasn't worth it. His purpose in life wasn't being a soldier, it was being with his brothers. In this episode, we see the Vulture still follows him, as he is still harbouring his hurt against his brothers, letting it get in the way of mending their relationship. It is only at the end of the episode when, he reveals himself to them, stops keeping up that tough exterior he needed to as a soldier, that the Vulture finally leaves him. And for the first time we have ever seen Barton 4, the sky is peaceful and clear, nolonger cold and turbulent like Crosshair's heart, for the Vulture flies away across it, leaving Crosshair, as he has now found his purpose. He is nolonger The Vulture, he is nolonger surviving for the sake of it. He has found purpose.
Emotional episode but slightly disappointed there hasn’t been a proper conversation about tech. And I agree Louise I wish your channel was bigger because you love all of star wars which is a rarity and I love it.
Another absolute banger of an ep. They’re 5/5 so far this season
I am with you! I’m so emotionally attached to these characters! And I am hoping 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽that they find Tech. Maybe they winter-soldiered him. Maybe they find his name on the clone roster and he becomes part of the plan for infiltration and extraction! Double episode next week. I can’t wait!

The bright spot is that Rebels was only going to prioritize Rex because of Ahsoka, so that leaves hope that some of the others didn't choose "retirement" like those three did. I do have a bad feeling about Crosshair, though, and I think you do, too. A sniper with a 53% accuracy rating isn't going to feel very worthy, and might be the first one to sacrifice himself when the need calls for one. He's refusing help, he's getting attached to the pet, he's chuckling at Omega's playfulness...man that is gonna suck.

This show is remarkably mature and confident in its pacing. Two episodes where we just get deep with our characters, no big cameos needed, no lightsaber fighs. Just push our people forward.

I really Love this show, It surprised the Hell out of me that Crosshair became my favorite character because throughout Star Wars since seeing the first one at age six in 1977 I have always been "Rebel Scum." No Love for the Empire here. But something about him speaks to me, the soldier loyal to a fault until he is pushed so hard it breaks him. Glad to see him back with the rest. I don't know how this can be the last season of this crew. This has been some of the best Star Wars made IMO. Maybe we can hope for an animated movie in the future. My Dream would be to see them Live action these guys but I don't know how well that would play.

The episode with the young clone troopers gave them the sector for Tantiss. While they didn't recover the actual location during Omega and Crosshair's escape, the damaged escape ship shows it was limited to a certain range from the planet they crashed on. Combined with the information they should be able to get from Nala's pad, should drop the number of possible systems to a more manageable number (possibly even single digits).
I have a feeling that mysterious trooper we see in ep 3 is Tech and I’m sure Hunter , Omega , Wrecker Echo and Crosshair will have to face Tech near the final eps which is gonna be heartbreaking

There was nothing wrong with your cross hair eye liner. I was more intrigued with your monitor reflecting off your glasses, making it look like you had one green eye and one blue eye. Made me think of Issehard in the Xwing books
I think if the emperor doesn’t try to clone himself right away I think as test subjects he would want to try to recreate anakin orrrr tech. To see if the process would clone and match them to perfection.Since tech was part of clone force 99 and the empire wanted to use them for experiments maybe they would want to see if techs talents for example would also be processed to the T before the emperor tried it on himself.
This has been a fantastic season so far. I'm so sad this show is ending 😭
Remember a few years after this time during Kenobi. we see a 501st clone panhandling. That gives me hope not all these guys are going to die. Maybe some just retire and blend into places like Pabu.

It's about time Echo showed up, we don't have a lot of time with him left (that we know of). Never get attached because you only feel more pain when they're ripped away from you. Omega's sass "I'm older than you are, little brother."

There are a lot of references in The Bad Batch to USA conscripted soldiers sent to the Vietnam War. Didn't have a choice it was fight or jail/decommissioning, sent very young, the public shunned them, exposed to chemicals etc that damaged them, no counselling when they came back, PTSD left untreated, many died young and poor. 😢
They aren't discussing Tech because it's too painful. Just like Echo vaguely refers to Fives but can't talk about him.
At least the stormtroopers had the decency to put maydays helmet with the others. I was a little sad that tech didnt get a bigger conversation but im glad he was at least mentioned and acknowledged.

Your thoughts regarding Echo base being named as such, I share this sentiment hoping that it's nothing bad. However, I really hope it is named as such due to it being a military base and "Echo" is just word for the letter "E" within the phonetic alphabet.

Talk and hug it out?... Not really the way guys work, but this episode shows exactly how guys work. We argue until there's a difficult common goal, then we work together and that takes all of the emotion out of the situation that had us at odds... then a normal conversation can be had.

I saw in another reaction, someone mentioned the ice vulture was trapped in the sensor circle? I don’t know if that is true however I do think the ice vulture flying off at the end was symbolic of not being trapped anymore (both the vulture and Crosshair).
