@@yogabbagabby999 everyday unless you have short enough hair and can wear it down everyday or short enough to rock a ponytail but essentially you still have to do your hair everyday
@@yogabbagabby999 doing your hair is not like a task. they expect you to do your hair (in regulation) just as you would do your hair everyday as a normal civilian

my hair was extremely oily in this video so that could very well have a lot to do with it... when my hair is air dried i have to use a lot of gel to get it so smooth .... but the video in particular was oily hair lol

Join Annapolis and become a Jet-Jane. I don't know that does the Navy have any fighter-pilots. Maybe Marines have some female pilots?

You don't have to grease your hair. I know a lot of girls like yourself who used hairspray but i myself did not need to... atleast not on a daily basis

Use a toothbrush and comb your hair with a little bit of hair spray/vaseline/ regular gel .

I have a love hate relationship with the navy just about everyone in the military has a love hate relationship for their branch . I chose navy because the educational benefits that I receive . excitement as in ??? lol and no you are not constantly out to sea . they are deployments and you get to stop in different ports across the globe

My recruiter yesterday told me that you still have to cut your hair. When did it change that you don't need to cut it anymore!

Iedoubina Marc I will make a video answering your question about boot camp. It's been 2 years since I've been there but I'm pretty sure much hasn't changed . As far as products for African American texture hair not soo much . But if kno how to manage your hair you can make do with what they give you . I brought just a change of clothes and I had a notebook that had a list of phone numbers and addresses in it. I brought my phone but I had to send it back. They supply you with your main essential like underwear socks clothes. They give you a gift card for their store and the card has about 100$ maybe more and with that you can buy your toothpaste , hair products, phone card , deodorant etc. I wouldn't bring makeup because you aren't allowed to wear it but for 2 occasions and plus you can buy it there . You can also bring money with you like a debit card and stuff. If you have anymore questions leave more comments and I will be sure to put the video out before you leave

This may be a stupid question. But, why are all the hairstyles so low in the back? Is a high bun or ponytail not acceptable?
Back when I made this video no ponytails were not allowed . Now they are under certain circumstances. As for the buns if they were high bus you wouldn’t be able to put your hat that you wear everyday on
How long do you have to get ready in the morning at bootcamp?
I always have babyhairs in my neck I swear, they always poke out. is that going to be a problem? Should I cut it into a Bob? I hate anything hairrelated 😂😂

How long is too long? Because my hair is down to my stomach and if I am allowed to keep it I'm not sure if I can fit it into most styles.
Katie Wright I have the same struggle. I don't want to cut it but I have to because ur gonna have this bun all day and the longer ur hair the heavier it is. So that's something to think about
Victoria leon Yeah, I don't really want to cut it but I want to commit to this. I'm going to try first to see if I can fit it in a bun and if I can wear it without a headache.
I cut 12 inches off for the military and I regret it. My hair was long so it's still arm pit length but i wish i didn't cut it. i wouldn't cut it just for the military; i know people in with hair down to their ass.
It took me months to get used to so idk if i would recommend it. if you'd get a haircut and you were kicked out at basic, would you regret getting it done??

Air Force has a minimum hair length of 1/4 inch. You have to let it grow out and then cut it to be even.

What hair products do you use to tame the curls? because I have really tight curls that are just impossible to keep down.
I had friends who have a similar curl pattern and they used a lot of gel and hairspray.
For the sock buns are you able to buy the sponges at the store on base, do they supply them, or you just figure something out?
I think me and the other girls with black hair made ours out of a sock that we already had but I think the girl with lighter color hair (brown/blonde) bought something... I cant remember if it was a sponge or sock. But you can always buy one for your hair before you go and wear it the day you get there so you don't have to worry about it. I recommend already having your hair in a bun before you arrive, its just easier that way

no they have more of an option to have a temp fade or you can get exactly what they guys get... girls have more more of an option to grow theres a lil more then what they allow guys to have

you can but i don't recommend it during bootcamp but after graduation as long as it fits within uniform regs such as color, cut, length etc YES

yes but make sure you dye your hair right before you leave so that your new growth won't come through till the end and you don't have to dye it while your there... also be careful with what kind of blonde dye you use because the pool turned some people blonde a lil green

Darian Gutierrez usually yes depending on how secure you bobby pinned it . I would not recommend it on an every day basis unless you really quick with doin it cuz you don't have that much time in the morning to get dressed

I am pissed i want to do locks before heading to boot camp because i know for a FACT that i do not want to deal with the upkeep of loose hair. Sorry to say this but your hair is of a looser texture so it's easier for you
You have the options of getting braids. My hair being of a looser texture does not take away from the styles itself. These buns are bun all girl of different textures can accomplish. This video is just to display styles that i do that are acceptable and girl who have kinkier hair than my own can achieve.

If you are willing to wear a wig everyday to work for your navy career, then by all means do what you please. Dreads are not an approved navy female regulation. The army on the other hand authorizes that hair style. Do I recommend this? No, but I'm not the one wearing the wig.
