When my kids were little and I had to mix something up with my hands I always called them God’s Spoons!!! My kids would laugh so hard!!! They are all grown now, and the ones with kids use the same line and my grandkids get the biggest kick out of it!!!
Walmart has Great Value Shelled Edamame. I like them steamed in shel and sprinkled with coarse salt but for stir fries I use the pre-shelled. This looks like a great recipe to try this week!
Came to say the same! They are usually next to the edamame. I can't remember what they're called. When they are in the shells it's edamame but shelled it's called something else. I'm pretty sure they're the same price and you actually get more bang for your buck since there's more in the pack
Nothing lazy about any of these meals! You're such a great chef, Brooke!! P.S. i find you videos so soothing and comforting. You have a sweet demure. 💜💜💜
Hi Brooke! Just wanted to say thank you for these great videos. My mother never cooked and I knew nothing, I didn’t know about budgets, meal planning or how to grocery shopthanks to you I have learned so much. You helped me learn use what I have and experimenting is fun and rewarding and that more expensive isn’t always the best choice. I am still working on portion control and am getting better at it, a friend gifted me a food saver and I’m loving it. Thanks again Brooke and I hope it brings you joy to know that we out here truly appreciate and enjoy you. SMILES
I just had to stretch one small pork chop for two people. I used cabbage and rice. T_T It tastes fine, but man.. I'm feeling the food budget this month.
@@liamlowenthal8476 I'm sorry you are dealing with this. Maybe if you go to a food bank or a blessing box. I know social services has emergency food boxes too. It's true you have to stand in line but if things are bad, it might be worth it.
Brooke when I don't want to open more butter or discover the extra pkg of butter I thought was in the freezer is not I have discovered that I can use mayo or olive oil to make garlic bread, both are yummy!
Your comment made me think of my mom. She made the best baked beans on earth. She told me when you add the brown sugar, put in as much as you think it needs, and add another half as much again!
Good recipes. They look delicious and quick to cook up. I love that you take advantage of frozen foods and mix with fresh. For the hamburger rolls as garlic bread, I would have mixed in some evoo with the butter to save opening a new stick of butter. I'm going to try them all.
So happy everyone is healthy and safe !!! Made me think of your backpack 3 days supply for every family member just in case !!!! Did yall have to use them? Hugs and PRAYERS
Supper glad to hear you and your family are good. You are looking good, happy and I love all of your videos. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share such great stuff. ❤❤
Brooke I just watched a video of yours with the tuna melts and that is what we are going to have for dinner.... thank you. We are praying for Tennessee please stay safe we love you.🙏❤️
Watching this video made me want to make turkey clubs for dinner tonight so that’s what I’m making. Also, the best way I’ve found to make homemade garlic bread is to use sweet baby ray’s Parmesan garlic dressing! It has all the ingredients in there already and all you do is squirt some on your bread/buns spread it out and place in oven or air fryer at 400° for 6-8 minutes. Perfect every time and my picky 8 (going on 9) year old son begs for it when I tell him I gotta use up a loaf of bread. 😂❤
Brooke, a suggestion. Buy yourself some Kinders Steak Seasoning. It is wonderful and tasty. I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil to coat. Sprinkle it on potatoe wedges with garlic powder, onion powder, & S&P. My kids and hubby love these! 😂❤😂 I live in Northwest Tennessee and am the momma of 5 adults and 1 kiddo still at home. I make these when all the kids are home (even when they're not). I need two sheet pans of them when everyone is home. My daughters-in-law and my unmarried kids ask me for the recipe. 😂 I didn't know wedge taters had a recipe. 😂😂😂 Hopefully your family enjoys this as much as mine does. My Autistic son, (still at home), asks for sprinkle potatoes all the time! Yes, Wyatt named these wedgies Sprinkle Potatoes! Wyatt enjoys your videos, too. ❤❤❤ Im 😂 going to try your pasta recipe. I'm sure my family will enjoy it! ❤
I really think Brayden look grown up with his high and tight hair cut.Hey Brooke. Im glad y'all are all ok. NC got quite a hit up in Asheville where my son lives. ❤❤❤
My Mil and Sil are near Asheville. They have not been contactable since the hurricane went thru until today. She notified me they are ok. Mil is in hospital recovering from surgery so we have been quite worried. Still have no phone or internet. Sil has to go somewhere to get internet. Good old messenger got a message thru. Her siblings haven’t conversed with her yet (they don’t have messenger) but now they know all is ok.
@Simplylivinglifethebestican - BTW, love your screen name. Just wanted to say that I have done this for years. I use a recipe from a book called "Laurels Kitchen" written in the 70's (I think). Butter, oil, some lecithin(I use the granular), 1 T. Powdered milk and about 1 T. of ice water. About 1/4 - 1/2 tsp. Lecithin ( I kind of eyeball it), half cup of softened butter and half cup oil. Salt if you want it. Do it in the blender. It's like a soft spread margarine. Works well for cooking and spreading, but NOT for cookies. Cakes ok. Depending on the oil you use, can be a lot cheaper than butter.Too much info, sorry.
I just love your family. Watching you brings me peace and amazing memories of raising my kids back in the 80's. Keep spreading your happiness. It's contagious ! We love you all here in Kellogg, Idaho
Get the spray olive oil to spray over the potatoes and use that before seasoning and it will really cut down on the calories too. I know you’re not focused on calories but eating better. Every little trick helps though!❤
Brooke i just gotta say in Australia we arent known for our "seasoning" but since watching your channel ive upped the seasoning and everything tastes so much better! i was always worried about going overboard before, but little did i realise it wasnt enough🤣
Dusty is correct in calling the gnocchi little pillows. Italian people that I have seen make gnocchi say they resemble little pillows. You can also make pumpkin gnocchi and after cooking them in simmering hot water, toss them in browned butter with sprinkling of sage! It is so good. If you want to make your own…they can be made strictly from potatoes or made with ricotta cheese and potatoes. I usually make the ricotta ones when making stuffed large pasta shells. You can freeze both. Just freeze the gnocchi individually on a cookie sheet, then place in a freezer bag.
Brooke, save and dry seeds from veggies and fruit your family enjoy. Then, use them in your garden next growing season. Saves money on seeds the next year. Those little peppers can be expensive to buy, 😅so using the seed and growing your own in a garden or patio pots will save money. 🎉🎉🎉
Wonderful meals 😋 i also substitute oil or butter w Italian dressing on my garlic bread . It fries or bakes up delicious. I also, use it on fish sticks or pan fried potatoes. Good to use in a pinch when out of oil or butter
Hope all is well that way . Sending lots of prayers to everyone.... these are great meals thanks for sharing... Hey Brooke will you ask dusty to do a video on knife sharpening...?
Love watching your video's on the different dinner ideas, I think it's great what you do. It makes people think out of the box. Thanks for all you content. Please keep it coming love. Watching it god bless..
Hi Brook, edamame shells are not edible, but you can buy it already shelled. I use these in recipes, and I use the ones in shells as an appetizer with drinks, same as some peanuts in the shell. I boil them drain and add some sea salt, then eat them as you demonstrate. 😊
You're the bomb, Bestie! Five wonderful home made meals for all. I thought when you did those potatoes "Brooke didn't use pepper before you added S & P?"🤣 Thank you for sharing and be blessed always, my Southerland Squad! xoxo

One tip for those using ground turkey, add Worstershire sauce to the ground turkey to give it more of a beefy taste.
Everyone needs a Bray in their life, he’s the sweetest cheerleader for his momma’s wonderful cooking! 🥰
Best reaction from Dusty ever! Proof that simple is often the best.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I just love all four of your guys. Always saying how good their food is. You go girl.

Any time you think "I hope this is enough butter," it is 100% not enough butter

I love you! Your light shines through to all who are Blessed to watch your videos 💛🙏
They have shelled edamame too. Glad all of you are safe!
YUM!! All looks great. Loved watching your boys cook!
Sugar peas instead of edamame. Just a suggestion 😊
Edamame have such a high nutritional value, especially for women!
Yes!
Edamame has SO much protein...
Edamame is full of protein and fiber. That’s why we chose to use it instead! The beans are so tasty too!
Plus the chickens can enjoy the shells
