Try using mayonnaise instead of butter to grill your buns/bread. Just try making a grilled cheese with mayo on the bread instead of butter. It gives the bread a nice golden crust.
My husband got a new job Between the last one and this one, we went without a paycheck for 1 month. To avoid dipping into the emergency fund, we stuck to a 45 to 60 dollar budget for groceries. Lots of beans, rice and pasta supplemented with lots of cheap veggies like celery, green bell pepper, carrot and onions. (Oh, and our garden tomatoes and zucchini). After going through that, I honestly think it changed the way I'll shop for and cook food forever
Just a big ole thank you. You make a difference. Not to be weird but when I came across you today, I was thrilled. I am alone for months on end and you and the boyz make me smile. Thank you
tammyjones8102 Don't feel weird, Brooke has an amazing personality as do her kids. I was going through a terrible, terrible depression after my Pug died and I could hardly get off the couch or even shower. I live alone, and when I found her channel, it was a real positive to motivate me every day to get up, take a shower, get back into the world, and as a reward was watching her videos. She does make a difference, she helped me and I am so happy she is helping you too!
I’m by myself every other week when my husband works. I completely understand! I’ve been watching Brooke and being one of her “besties” since she started! She and her family including Aunt Vickie are wonderfully kind and caring! I religiously watch Dollar Tree Dinners too. Cooking the Books has a wonderful host Ana and she collects vintage cookbooks and cooks recipes from them. She has the most calming voice!
I love how you feed yourself, three men and a boy with such a small amount of meat. It looked like the most you used was a pound and some nights no meat. Thats awesome for a tight budget. Meat is the most expensive part of the meal. A lot of men think it’s not a meal unless they have a ton of meat on their plate. You’ve raised them right!
YOU HAVE THE SWEETEST BOYS. OH MY GOODNESS. You should be so proud. Good job. I have twin boys that were as sweet as your boys. They have become engineers, an attorney, and a PhD candidate. It just takes love and good parents. Good job!
This 79 year old grandmother of 9 loves your videos and your precious family. They are cheerful and happy and fun. Always come away with new ideas and a smile😊
I just want to say your boys are so amazing. They are not only polite and kind but sweet. All 3 of them! I loved the shot of Kylan holding Ryder's hand in the store. OMG that was so sweet! Little brother's protector! And what they picked out was amazing I am dying for some pancakes right now!
Your boys did a great job picking out the groceries and you did a fabulous job putting the meals together. You are amazing at coming up with inexpensive meals. That’s definitely what a lot of people are needing these days. My hat is off to you for raising such well mannered sons.
What a lovely family you all are - you must be very proud of your sons! It's great to see young folk becoming empowered as they learn how to take care of themselves and their family!
I can't believe how many great looking meals you came up with for just $30. The boys are right, you can't go wrong with pinto beans and cornbread. I grew up eating that and still love it today. Breakfast for dinner is always good. I hope you let the boys go shopping more often and see what else they can come up with. Also teaching them a necessary life skill to do their own shopping.
I really love how you dont make a big fuss about your picky eater, like revolving meals around him, but you also make an option for him and dont force him to eat something he hates 💙
The boys did a great job shopping. Now maybe have the two older ones begin cooking with you so they can learn how to use what they buy into dinners. Just the next step when they are ready. You have a really sweet family that cares about each other. Rare today.
This could be my all time favorite. Your imagination and skills with the amount of only $30.00 was extraordinary. I am so impressed and in total awe. Thank you for showing this lady what can be done on a small budget. Wow!
Thank you so much for what you're doing!! I'll be 70 in December, lived a lot of my life "no frills" and you're an encouragement to me. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks!! And PS i love your youn Collin's sense of humor (such as after he tastes your good food). You're all great
I am also very frugal and a creative cook who can envision dishes & meals from random ingredients. And like you, I have 3 sons. I love your realness, lack of pretension, & obvious devotion to your family . My favorite part of your shows is when your youngest predictably “passes out” from how good it is. So dramatic! And, he’s so like my youngest so I wonder if that type of personality comes from having 2 older brothers?
Brooke, you did a fantastic job and your boys have been paying attention to what you do that is so wonderful. Most kids would have bought their favorite junk food and maybe something to fix burgers or hotdogs or a frozen pizza. This shows you are teaching them how to make it in the real world and save money. EXCELLENT JOB MOMMA 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤
Honey, you came across my feed, and I have to say, I am thrilled. You inspire me to do better planning meals. I can stretch a dollar pretty far, but you are the queen! Thank you for your videos. You have done a great job raising your boys. So sweet and polite. Keep up the good work.
Are you sure Braden is not a Cajun? Lol In these trying times, it comes in handy to eat many varieties of food. The spoiled kids are having the roughest time, but average great kids are surviving better. 🤗
I am blown away with all the meals that came from that 30 dollars. How awesome it was too to see y'all shopping together and the boys learning the value of a dollar as well as time with mom. Great times and thank y'all for all you do !
You can tell the boys have learned a lot from you! It’s good to see people teaching their children life skills. Somehow we’ve lost sight of that through the years. The reason that cheese makes such great sauce is because it has an emulsifier already in it. No need for a rue. On other hack, if you add water to cream or half and half it basically turns into a whole milk. Sometimes that’s a way to stretch a buck if you’re short on milk. You da best Brooke!! 💚
Wow! Your boys did an excellent job! We all should teach our kids this skill. Your meals were phenomenal for $30! I really enjoyed this video! Thank you.
You and the boys did a GREAT job for this video!!! So many times a repeated, good idea finally sinks in (for example your cheese sauce) and makes a difference in the quality of our meals. Thank you all, for your time and efforts. ❤
Those were some great meals!!! I think Brooke could win one of those cooking challenges on tv. 🎉😊 she is so creative and makes an entire meal that is yummy out of nothing. 🎉😊
This was a great idea challenge. Boys learn how to shop for great deals, use a budget, learn true price of food in the real world. You get to keep your imagination alive and well AND your viewers engaged. Like like 👍
I remember my 2 older brothers wanting to do groceries for our family of 6. Four boys, one girl, me. They were given so much and did so well Mom let them do it several times. Thanks for bringing up a memory💕
I just discovered you, and I am obsessed. I have so many questions. You kept me up late last night, but I'm not complaining. I want to try what you do, but I work 7A-7P, 40 minutes from home. I need to collect some of your quicker recipes.
I really, really appreciate your videos. You show a real home. I’m so tired of all of the aesthetic videos full of trendy garbage. I have a home similar to yours and it’s nice to see some real people representation. Thanks for your content! You have a beautiful family.
I really enjoy watching your videos on how to put meals together especially on a budget really enjoy watching keep on doing what you are doing really helped me alot Thank you
I’m another Granny who loves your family. Your teachings to your sons will not stop with them. They will teach others for sure the gift of thrifty frugal shopping. Blessings to you all! Hugs from Virginia Beach, VA. ❤
I just came across your videos. I love them. You are a ray of sunshine. I am on a journey dealing with cancer and your videos make me smile and feel good. You have a wonderful family. Thank you for what you do!!
Your sons have such ❤ for your food😊😊😊. They have wonderful parents. Teach them to cook. My son is 39 and he cooks better than me. His son is 7 and he pulls a chair up to watch. I loveyour videos. Go bless you all❤ ✝️ ❤ 🙏... I love all the recipes❤
I just adore watching you and your family! Your boys are so fabulous! They will be good men, any girl will be lucky to be in their lives! Not trying to rush, but I see ya'll being a wonderful Grammy and Pappy!
I think your family eats proper proportions, especially for boys. They really don't overdo it which is nice to see. You and your husband raised them well. They are very respectful.❤
I just love this so much, the budget, the boys getting involved, not being such picky eaters and appreciating your cooking! You’re my favorite to watch!! Love your family!
Such a lovely family. Thank you for sharing, these meals are doable. I’m watching every video now for ideas. So practical and affordable. You are the queen of mumma bears.
You seem to have the most appreciative family. They seem happy with everything you prepare. It was fun watching the $30 challenge and include the boys. Blessings...
The boys did amazing understanding and staying on budget. Looks like they had some meal ideas (about 4ish) . 4 meals for a family of 5 for only $30 was great. Then Super Mom (aka Brooke) took it up a notch and made 3 more meals for a total of 7 meals. WOW!!! Combined each meal was approximately $0.87 truly amazing.
then we use a slice of white bread cut the crust off and cut the bread in small squares and add a egg to the bowl then add garlic powder shake some in bowl then shake paprika in the bowl and put in some worchester sauce and mix up with your hand like play dough and you can use a spoon as well then once it all looks like a dough well shape it into burger patties and fry up they taste good i share recipe with you okay
Whoa! I'm so impressed with that Day 6 dinner (broccoli cheese baked potato and cheesy garlic bread). Amazing what you can throw together with scraps! Thank you so much for your ideas and inspiration!
Love to see other people with their children that are so wise for their age. I'm almost seventy, and I've taught my grandson. Who started high school today? Just about all I know. I hope when it comes to food budgeting. He's a good, pretty good cook. These 14 but tall, like your older boy. Thank you for the ideas. Thank you for letting the boys do it. Let's pray that they're learning everything. We try to throw out too long. Have a blessed evening, thanks for the videos and sharing your family with us.❤🎉
Woohoo, Brooke. The boys did a great job picking out the groceries, and you did a great job cooking them. I taught all three of my children about food and how to cook it. They're all grown and know how to feed themselves. I'm going to go and check out Aunt Vicki. I love it when you two get together on a challenge!
Gosh. Your boys are so sweet i have 4 boys. I can only hope they'll be this sweet, respectful and helpful when they get older. Your older boy holding your youngest hand warmed my heart.
Hello Brooke it was such a pleasure watching your beautiful boys cooking chicken and rice your such a delightful family I’m watching you from London ENGLnD ThNk you ❤️
my mother for years was a cook at a hospital as a dietary aid cooking food and at a day care cooking food and once she worked at franks cafe cooking food

I'll be there in a few Aunt Vickie ❤
Try using mayonnaise instead of butter to grill your buns/bread. Just try making a grilled cheese with mayo on the bread instead of butter. It gives the bread a nice golden crust.
You are the best that I ran across because you're teaching us that can't afford to buy groceries ways to be able to budget
My husband got a new job
Between the last one and this one, we went without a paycheck for 1 month. ❤❤❤
Did my heart good to see Ryder holding Kylan's hand in the store. You and Dusty must be so proud of your sons! They are a good young men 💞
Me too😢..You don't see that anymore these days, so i'm so happy to see a family like this. 💗 Those are some good boys to be proud of💗
Same 🥲
❤❤❤❤
I noticed that also..it is about family values...and working together , as a family , as a community, as a country....God Bless America and its people
I thought the same thing when I seen that! Good young men!
The boys made $30 stretch, 7 dinners for a family of 5! Kudos, their mother taught them well! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Heck yeah
Agreed
Youre doing the world a service by teaching your sons how to cook and shop. Good on ya!
Big brother holding little brothers hand in the grocery store is the sweetest💕
Came here to say this!!
Just a big ole thank you. You make a difference. Not to be weird but when I came across you today, I was thrilled. I am alone for months on end and you and the boyz make me smile. Thank you

Fabulous dinners for thirty dollars .... amazing❤
I feel this. My hubby is in a nursing home for the last almost 6yrs and I'm alone too. This family and Moss Family TV keep me sane 😊
@lorigriffin1843 I'm sorry about your puppe r

Your boys did amazing job buying $30.00 groceries. for 7 meals.
Your boys did better than I can do with $30. Kudos Momma on teaching them so well!
Exactly. Just one tip for future pasta meals 15:25 - always keep 1 cup of the pasta water on hand, to thicken the sauce and key the pasta hydrated.
In case no one has said it today, I just love yall. The whole family, Aunt Vickie included!
My husband is like that, so I make one pot meals most of the time to hide the fact that I'm only using half a pound of meat for the entire meal 😂
"I don't know, lets find out" is my absolute favorite!!! Kylen is too precious! All of your boys are precious ❤️
YOU HAVE THE SWEETEST BOYS. OH MY GOODNESS. You should be so proud. Good job. I have twin boys that were as sweet as your boys. They have become engineers, an attorney, and a PhD candidate. It just takes love and good parents. Good job!
You got good boys, teaching them right! Plus, your hair gets more beautiful.
Right. I love her hair.
So enjoy your videos. Your little men did a great job. You are so creative. You rock it, girl.
This 79 year old grandmother of 9 loves your videos and your precious family. They are cheerful and happy and fun. Always come away with new ideas and a smile😊

Awesome family can't believe how fast the boys grow up
Your boys did a great job picking out the groceries and you did a fabulous job putting the meals together. You are amazing at coming up with inexpensive meals. That’s definitely what a lot of people are needing these days. My hat is off to you for raising such well mannered sons.
So.. I'm so impressed with all they got for 30.00...well done boys....
Amazing! 7 meals for $30 AND a million dollars of L-O-V-E!!!❤❤❤ Brooke - you are The GOAT!! Blessings!!

These kids did AMAZINGLY WELL with this budget! Obviously, they’ve been listening to Momma.
I really love how you dont make a big fuss about your picky eater, like revolving meals around him, but you also make an option for him and dont force him to eat something he hates 💙
Your boys are the best of the best
Watching Ryder walk through the store holding Kylens hand. I melted.
Such a precious family.
Great video
The brothers holding hands is the sweetest thing ever. I love when my 12-year-old holds my 5-year-old's hand in the parking lot
The boys did a great job shopping. Now maybe have the two older ones begin cooking with you so they can learn how to use what they buy into dinners. Just the next step when they are ready.

Loved it!!! The boys did great choosing the foods & of course Mama, you did awesome making the meals, as usual! Thanks for sharing❤
You did an amazing job making seven dinners with $30. That’s what an experience mom can do, good job. 😊
Honey, you came across my feed, and I have to say, I am thrilled. You inspire me to do better planning meals. I can stretch a dollar pretty far, but you are the queen! Thank you for your videos. You have done a great job raising your boys. So sweet and polite. Keep up the good work.

I agree!
Brooke and Dusty are going to be fantastic grandparents one of these days!
💞
The chicken alfredo looks so good. Never thought it was that easy!! Definitely gonna try it.
Oh bless I love how Ryder held Colins hand in the shop ❤
I think your family eats proper proportions, especially for boys. They really don't overdo it which is nice to see. You and your husband raised them well. They are very respectful.❤
These kids have good appetites. Some kids are so fussy. They don’t appreciate simple food. They need to hang around kids like yours.😊
I can't believe how many meals you get from these shopping trips!😊 Awesome!
Now I want to challenge my 5 kids. Great ideas. Thank you. Please keep videos coming
You seem to have the most appreciative family. They seem happy with everything you prepare. It was fun watching the $30 challenge and include the boys. Blessings...
Girl, those three young men are so polite and sweet. They are cute as can be.

You are sooo blessed girl, you’ve got the cutest sweetest family I’ve seen in a very long time..❤
How do the pinto beans get through quality control at the factory amazes me
💙💙💙Boys did fantastic! We don’t need meat every night. And if you are on a budget, this is not only filling but tasty!
These are the skills everyone needs, but awesome when it's taught young to prepare them just incase of hard times!
i love the bowls you're serving your beans and rice in, they look like pasta bowls Thanks for sharing your dinners with us
Love to see other people with their children that are so wise for their age. I'm almost seventy, and I've taught my grandson. Who started high school today? Just about all I know. I hope when it comes to food budgeting. He's a good, pretty good cook. These 14 but tall, like your older boy.
