A very elegant emerger. I like the shorter body. Nice hints for the tying. thanks. :-)

Hi Vladimir. Another gem. You teach very well. More than half of my fly tying is influenced by your techniques. In particular, I like the economy of fewer backward and forward windings, the reverse jam hitch, and the flatter body. Keep it up my friend. David

Thank you so much. I am honoured to hear about influence my channel has on your tying. Thank you so much. And thank you for noticing techniques i apply. Its what it is all about.
      Cheers
      All the best

Like that your flies just look right. I had not thought of folding the feather over itself to form a thorax. Should make it survive slightly faster flow too. Will give it a try. Excellent as always.

Glad you like it. I thank you so much.
Thorax like this is more prominent. Cdc is more durable. And its not difficult to add one more step to get this fly... I think its worth extra effort 🍺🍺😀

Thanks yet again for sharing such helpful techniques Vladimir...it's like private tuition at your Fly Tying University 😊...I am enjoying my tying and fishing so much more confidently these days (with less patterns in a few sizes and colours) thanks to you

    Hi Vladimir:
Starting back a little further is new to me. I always start mine where I think the thorax begins. Thanks for a great tutorial once again

Hi Vladimir. Been away some I’m afraid. On and off for the time being but here sometimes. Not been tying much but I thoroughly enjoy watching the tying jobs you put out for us. Thank you. Keep well my friend. 😊😊😊

    Vladimir,
I know you are working with what you have available to you where you are at, as we have discussed this before previously after one of your videos, but what is the maker or brand of thread that you are using, and is it a gsp thread? I see that it appears to be quite strong simply from the amount of flex that you are able to put in the hook shank as you discussed the correct way to start the reverse jam, and I also agree that if your goal is to keep a profile as thin as possible, this is the best way to do so. Although, I have to also admit that one must take into account the materials that they are using and plan the fly out completely as you also discussed here. Was just curious about the thread as I’ve been using Semperfli nanosilk in 30D and when I’m not using that, I typically find my self using a veevus 16/0 when strength isn’t as much of a concern. Thanks in advance my friend! Hoping you can take me up on an invitation to do some fishing here in the US at some point. By the way, you have good taste for that pink colored thread, as it is also a color I favor in several patterns and it’s amazing how something that little can make a huge difference.
    Tight lines again my friend!

This is chinese brand. They don't export. So its impossible for people outside of China to get it. It's not GSP, its nylon thread, pretty strong but it has tendency to split too much.
I do like it though. Strong and thin. 10/0.
For this fly i would use GSP only for very small flies. 18 or less. The fly doesnt require strong thread wraps.
This pink one i purchased recently.... I use it a lot now.
      🍺🍺

FYI, after you remove the slime, dry the cdc using the rubber band trick. Fly Fish Food has a good video on it.

I know about it for a long time but i dont know why i haven't tried it.
Thanks for reminding me. It may be easier than what i do now.

5:55 Body appears too short just from the visual, but you know way more so I assume it is a trick question.

Do you have a recommendation for another color for this pattern? I have olive, brown, and high vis orange on hand.

    • @Oholisfliesandfishing
      @Oholisfliesandfishing  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Not a trick question. It's just trick for the eyes. At least mine.... I always tend to do longer body and later cover it with materials and make it visually shorter. By doing as in this video everything sits much better
Regarding colour. (body) Adams grey works great, cream, olive...
      Cheers

Glad you like it. Use anything available for body. Thread is fine too. Stripped peacock barb is amazing tied this style... Endless possibilities
