Wish I had a PDR guy in my area as skilled and confident as you. I have a dent at the top of my tailgate and the PDR person I spoke to near me said toss the tailgate and get a new one. I don’t care if it’s looks new when done just want the dent mostly straightened.
Hey Michael, sorry to hear that. Sometimes the top of the tailgate can be a difficult one to do because of the way the panel hinges, trying to get a good view of the dent, place your light and work the tools behind can be a challenge. sometimes the dent can be small or not that challenging, just trying to get on it properly is the problem. Maybe that's why the other dent tech's are struggling with it possibly. I hate walking away from an easy dent just because I can't get on the back of it or can't get it in a position to be able to see it when working it. Keep trying, you may find someone who knows a trick or two. Good luck. Jake
💯% Quality Repair. I like to keep my heat gun on the panel consistently so that it doesn’t keep cooling and having to heat. The consistent heat seems to help. The video editing is top notch!!
Thanks Steven, yes one of those heat gun holding gadgets would come in handy sometimes, I'm always juggling all my tools when carrying out these repairs. 1st Track Dents - I’ve watched a couple of your projects. Nice work! Juggling? Man, I’ve gotta say between tools and shooting a video with all the thought about video angles and lighting you do very well. Just doing the work an extra hand or two would help and you add in the video management too.

I follow many Dent guys like me around the world, I've been a dent man for 25 years I'm ALWAYS learning different techniques. I've bought and and are using knock down tips and screw on tips that you've suggested and now I'm able to say yes to most train wreck dents and It's increased my business!! Thank you Jake!!!
You never stop learning, I've learnt loads of different techniques watching TH-cam videos of other Dent Guys. You never master this trade, I'm always trying to do things differently:-)

Excellent work! I am also happy and impressed that the owner actually bothered to have the dent fixed. I see a lot of small delivery and service trucks and often times they look horrible. It's nice to see a business owner that takes pride in not only his products but the appearance of his fleet. I've seen some ice cream trucks locally that you wouldn't want to approach unarmed.
Major props to you mate. I dont know anyone in the PDR game that has this level attention to detail. I thought knocking back those remaining micro dents from the initial pull would have been impossible!

Great work. It also explains why wraps are better than paint when it comes to stripes and secondary colors. It can be replaced a lot easier than painting it over.

Thank you. Ive been working on a dent like this and a similar method. Its not going as well once it came up. the part were you took it from looking bad to clean is what I am lacking. I am a rookie and it's starting to show.
These dents are very tricky to do, trust me this one gave me a big headache and I nearly gave up on it several times! having the experience of doing a few similar dents makes you stick with it. Good luck and all the best! 👍
It saves working time to the fleet, but it is also super green, no dust, no solvents, no paint, minimum amount of electricity, but a lot of craftsmanship!

THIS VIDEO HELPED MY REPAIR 💪🏻👍🏻 Thank you Jake- this video saved me ALOT OF HASSLE I had a similar repair this week, on an ice cream van- on the front wing over the bodyline- 2 tone! RAINING inside a lock up 🤣🙈 uncanny! What I took away from Jakes video presentation was that the metal was different, thinner (horrid) also the paint was very thin from when the conversion took place and was painted up. So I took extra care and spent a lot of time steadily removing the damage and with Jakes knowledge I made a super successful repair. Thank you Jake, well done and look forward to your next BlockBuster! Martin
Spot on, brilliant!! .... In the old days people used P38 to bring the detail back, now it's all paintless ... My neighbour has aske me to do her pickup truck where she hit a post, not much of a dent but I will give this paintless method a go with the glue way slide hammer of doing it.
I have a dent in a wing/ wheel arch and am looking at PDR vids and I state that the outcome of the ice-cream van from start to finish could not be faulted in anyway . Yes, it would have been much easier if the green part was a wrap. it could have been removed, then repaired and then replaced all in the same day:-)
