  • This video takes a look back at the 1985 Sci-fi Comedy, My Science Project
Living In The Past is a channel about revisiting pop culture from the past. Hosted by Jeremy Scott and Devin Kleffer (along with Carl the Intern), these two (three) friends can’t help but revisit the movies and TV shows that they loved from their younger years. Come along and get a little nostalgic with us as we look back, enjoy, and ask the important question: is it still OK to like this stuff?

What other retro 80s Sci-Fi would you recommend to watch (re-watch)? Also, are there any movies you would like Living In The Past to revisit in a video?

You should check out Lifeforce which I think came out that same year. That was a trippy movie but had really good production values, it was probably Canon Films best movie in that regard. Another good one is The Eliminators from I think 1986. It had Denise Crosby in one of her early pre-Star Trek roles. Another good concept that the 80s did well for a low budget.

Haha! I just watched Lifeforce a few weeks ago! I am a huge Canon Films fan.
The Eliminators would also be fun to revisit.

1985 was stacked with ironic movies.

This is a good one bro! I watched it quite a bit growing up. “The Wraith” is a good one that came on a lot or “Three O'Clock High”. I also used to really dig “The Dirt Bike kid” and “The Heavenly Kid”.

Love it! The Wraith and Three O’Clock High were on the rotation when I was a kid. I saw both of those movies all the time.

I think I watched that on Beta then VHS. I miss going to my locally owned video store (called Crown Video) and getting their .99 cent rentals 10 to 20 at a time. Where all the staff knew me and even years later, I'm still am friends with some of them even after they all closed down. Really wonderful childhood memories.

Love it! I had similar relationships with the video store employees where I grew up.

The dark crystal would be a cool when the sea covered here. That's the 1st movie I used my own earned money to see.
In addition from the previous decade and with the passing of Raquel Welsh it would be nice to see what you covered about the movie Hannie Colder. It's one of Tarantino's favorite films and is the primary inspiration for Kill Bill.

      Those are great picks! Thanks!
The Dark Crystal left such an impression on me.
