For people wondering about the flavour of the Biscoff spread, it is like a deep caramel with the added spice flavours of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and cloves. You might have to experiment with the flavour to get it right but it is like apple sauce with deepest, richest, thickest caramel mixed in almost 50/50. Absolutely indulgent and almost illegal!! 😂😂😂🤗🤗😋 Edited to add that another spice which suits this flavour combo is Cardomen.
@@jessbereal7662 Yes probably has in the supermarket form. But easy enough to make your own and modify. Caramel can be made with cc oil in place of butter or if cc oil is out then another seed oil. Just have to watch out for the proportions as usually it's a slightly bit less oil or the caramel will be runny and may separate unless agar or similar is added which is possible. Rather than cows cream, use cc cream or almond cream or similar. Again I know people try not to use almond products due to bee slavery. But other creams are good too. Or get hold of wild-grown product.
I love Biscoff cookies. I think of them as airplane cookies because you always seem to get them with airplane meals. They're delicious. I'm going to make this for sure.
Very nice! You can follow this method with the following swaps. Swap the crust parts with oreo, graham cracker, animal crackers, ginger snaps or molasses cookies or any cheap boxed cookie. Take the time to add some vanilla or cinnamon, lemon zest, whatever flavors are in keeping with your other ingredients. Swap the cookie butter with peanut butter, Nutella, or any boxed instant pudding. Prepare the pudding first using half the milk as called for in the pie filling instructions. You can also hide a surprise layer...nuts, sprinkles, frozen berries or sliced bananas on top of the crust before the filling goes in! This is a perfect dessert method with lots of variation. You cant mess it up!
@@jaycross6615 it seems mst people here agree that this is the same as speculoos cookie butter. Do you have access to that? If you were trying to make the butter from the cookies maybe you would add some flavorless oil and powdered sugar and food processor it for several minutes...
Love that you put the measurements in grams as well. I never understand how to measure a cup of butter, considering you can’t pour something that is a solid haha
One stick of butter is 1/2 cup, and there are measurements for tbsp, 1/4, 1/3, and of course 1/2 cup on most wrappers. Some don't if they are a European brand, but most butters do.
So I tried this using vegan ingrediants, as I can not do the dairy. I sub'd the cream cheese for Kite Hill plain cream cheese, made with almond milk. I also used whip cream that is also used with almond milk. I used vegan butter instead of the dairy brands. This is so good! My whole family loves it

Which almond milk Whipped cream did you use? I was going to use a tub of that coconut milk substitute that’s kind of like cool Whip. You think that would work or I can try what you use. Vegan here as well, at least when it comes to desserts because I can’t do dairy.

@Sue Sue Spéculoos it's the real name if this biscuits... There are belgium and in big supermarkets U can find them i think... In France we have this everywhere. There are so yummy simply with hot coffee or The , or cooked (in apple crumble for exemple) this is a canella biscuit 🙂💙

Can you advise in which countries is Lotus Biscoff sold? Initially, I thought that this is some sort of peanut butter, but it's to liquid for peanut butter.
@@ninasol5569 they were two different items. The cookies were broken and used in the crust, the spread that was heated then used on top came from a jar. It is usually found with peanut butter, nut spreads, Nutella, etc. It is all shown in the video and listed inthe description.
Beautiful! I made a similar version without the wonderful Biscoff part when I worked as a Pastry Chef. A four ounce cheesecake sold for $10. Never a complaint and some people would take extra cakes home with them. This is a version I would have been proud to serve.

I made it today! it's my first time making a cheesecake. It was very good and i might make it again. i just replaced the biscuits for the lower part with digestive biscuits to reduce the sweetness

Looks super delicious oh yum... I learnt something new, pouring the topping on a spoon and this distributes it smoothly over the cake. We can always learn something new and time saving. I don’t think i’ve ever seen Biscoff spread (or biscuits). Is it caramel? This looks very tasty. I’ll definitely give this one a go, if i can sort the biscoff stuff!
It's sme as speculoos or cookie butter. If you are in the US most supermarkets have biscoff, but trader Joe's also has cookie butter spread and speculoos cookies which is basically the same as the biscoff. 🤟

Looks great! I would definitely add some type of fresh berries to offset the super rich overall flavor of the biscoff. Or perhaps a combination of berries and berry sauce. But that’s me.. 😏😏 maybe the tang of the cream cheese will be helpful in the richness.

It's a spread made from spiced Belgian cookies. It has the consistency of peanut butter, but contains no nuts of any kind. Also called cookie butter or Speculoos butter.
Looks like an amazing Cheesecake! Instead of separately whipping the cream and folding it in I would whip the cream with the Cheesecake mix and that incorporates it all evenly while preventing the cream over whipping due to folding or maybe try whipping it a little less. This dessert is definitely a favourite of mine 😊

Cream cheese is one of those 'stand alone' ingredients. There are two options. Go to a totally different cheese cake recipe such as a lemon cheese cake made with cream, condensed milk, lemon juice and gelatin---- OR---- make the cake according to the recipe but don't tell anyone and just see what happens! Or tell them it's whipped heavy cream which is sort of the truth. You might be surprised! 😅😻
@@ClissaT I usually don't tell them what's in food if I know they'll be picky lol. But my husband especially is so good about sniffing things out! It's maddening. And our son hates whipped cream. Don't ask me why, he is crazy 😜
I would use a short bread type cookie/biscuit and either peanut butter, almond butter or a chocolate hazelnut spread (here in the US we use the Nutella brand).

There are markings on the outside of the butter wrapper showing where to cut for different measurements

That's all u need to know

@@Chelbasaur but even sticks are different. In Europe we usually have 250 gr or 500 gr, but your sticks are smaller most of the time

I made it today! it's my first time making a cheesecake. It was very good and i might make it again. i just replaced the biscuits for the lower part with digestive biscuits to reduce the sweetness

It's sme as speculoos or cookie butter. If you are in the US most supermarkets have biscoff, but trader Joe's also has cookie butter spread and speculoos cookies which is basically the same as the biscoff. 🤟
It’s suppose to be a deep Carmel flavor with spice flavors so you are kind half correct

Looks great! I would definitely add some type of fresh berries to offset the super rich overall flavor of the biscoff. Or perhaps a combination of berries and berry sauce. But that’s me.. 😏😏 maybe the tang of the cream cheese will be helpful in the richness.

It's a spread made from spiced Belgian cookies. It has the consistency of peanut butter, but contains no nuts of any kind. Also called cookie butter or Speculoos butter.

Looks like an amazing Cheesecake! Instead of separately whipping the cream and folding it in I would whip the cream with the Cheesecake mix and that incorporates it all evenly while preventing the cream over whipping due to folding or maybe try whipping it a little less. This dessert is definitely a favourite of mine 😊

This looks delicious, is there a substitute for cream cheese? I ask because my family doesn't like cream cheese.
Cream cheese is one of those 'stand alone' ingredients. There are two options. Go to a totally different cheese cake recipe such as a lemon cheese cake made with cream, condensed milk, lemon juice and gelatin---- OR---- make the cake according to the recipe but don't tell anyone and just see what happens! Or tell them it's whipped heavy cream which is sort of the truth. You might be surprised! 😅😻

In Serbia we dont have that biscuit and we dont have that biscoff spread. What can I use to replace it? Thank you
you can use any type of biscuits you have and peanut butter cream to replace the lotus spread
or any chocolate spread like Nutella for example
You could use caramel with added spices as per the biscoff taste ie the cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, allspice, and cloves.
Or maybe can you order it online?
I would use a short bread type cookie/biscuit and either peanut butter, almond butter or a chocolate hazelnut spread (here in the US we use the Nutella brand).
