The way my jaw dropped when it got to the chorus, I was NOT expecting that. But it was an instant hit for me because I'm a sucker for messy songs.

The chorus is literally anti-anti-drop. As anti-drop is so popular today, bringing back a simple happy, jumpy chorus is so refreshing and fun, really love their new comeback!!!!

The main vocalist is Zin, the maknae. Her vocals are crazy. The whole group is a bit older. They are all born between 1999-2001. In August they'll all be at least 21.
isnt rainie also a main vocalist. I definitely remember her being named the international main vocal of the group I dont remember if it was on a show or on a showcase.

the chorus reminds me of a 2000's summer song, it's bouncy and strong and makes you wanna dance!
This group reminds me of 4Minute! The vocals, rap, dance and styling, their visuals too are very similar to 4Minute. While later girl groups try to follow the likes of SNSD or 2NE1, this group begged so hard to disagree! I LOVE THEM! They are underrated for now. But they will surely come through. 🫶🏻🎉

Incredibly excited that bugAboo came back, it was somewhat of a long time since their debut, so it definitely built up the hype nicely. The girls have been one of my favourite rookies the past year or two. Thank you for your reaction, PD!
I think now that we know heard both 'bugAboo' the song and 'POP', we finally got a true sense on where bugAboo (the group) is going to go. I love the statement they are making on their sound and the choreo, as their youthful energy is just insane. There are other hyper young groups out there, but c'mon. bugAboo has hitting it crazy hard with each song so far, as if they are telling us that this is their status quo. If so, we're looking at sleeper super stars.
Their B side Easy Move is pretty dope too. I hope they promote it also.

There are about a dozen credited composers for "Pop", but the lead three are Alawn (IVE, SuperM, LOONA), Andy Love (Twice, SuperM, Monster X), and Anna Tingrem (Chung Ha, TWICE, LOONA). Ryan Jhun is way down near the bottom of this very long list, so he contributed a bit, but definitely not to the level that he did on bugAboo's debut.

they're freaking amazing, they don't FEEL like rookies, this doesn't even feel like a first comeback ???? like they've been around for longer ??? idk if that makea sense, since their debut, the aura, the charisma (the maknae ??? she's INSANE girl i want that confidence), the VOCALS (no but seriously they have such different and interesting voices) the stage presence, THE DANCE oh these girls know how to dance (if anyone haven't seen their covers please do) i'm so excited for what's to come
Late to the game and I know everyone is already trying to compare them to other artists to figure out what this sound style is, BUT to me it really reminded me of early f(x)! A bit of Hot Summer, Chu~, Electric Shock. I loved f(x) and I really appreciated this powerful cheery sound making a comeback.
When the song began I thought it was gonna be like any other chanty kpop song these days. Then there was the prechorus which was a great buildup, but I thought we’d get a beat drop instead of an actual chorus. But then an actual chorus HIT and it was AMAZING!!! There was still some trap breakdowns and more chanting in between which I’m not too fond of, but that prechorus and chorus really carries the whole song and I LOVE it!!

Relistening and watching, this really feeling like it could have been an Itzy song and even mv in all the RIGHT WAYS.
Also, with Itzy moving to a more glamor concept bugaboo may be able to take their place in the bright hip hop pop.

The nugu groups (bugAboo, Fainit, and even woo!ah!, though I guess they are now breaking through) we are seeing are pushing the envelope right now. Small labels, to me, are far more interesting in what they are doing than what the big ones are pushing out.
The only disappointment I have have had recently was Secret Number, who's song I felt was really play safe and generic (I preferred their old stuff... It was more fun).
SAMEEEE I had so much hope for secret number... I'm stanning bugAboo, billlie, 🤣and STAYC now 🥹

What i noticed at this song and is my interpretation is:
-they made an Aespa Savage parody: Karina had a punch and Winter a pistol. Same here, they have boxing gloves and a laser pistol. The Aespa group is looking and destroying an evil eye bugAboo are looking at an evil goat and smash the goats heart.
-they made double tribute: 1. the hat on the pants + choreo (in bugAboo song between 03:15 and 03:19) ->KARA MISTER. 2. at "you will be wanting it" at the end you will hear a similar sound mixing and chords like in Girl's Day ->Expect (see in G'sD song min> 0:47).
As per the Chores the style, harmonics and progressions brings back the first EXID songs sound.
So what I see here is a statement that they can bring Back the old KPOP and that they want to do it without any stress regarding the rivals.
Overall I like the song and especially the melody of the Chores. So for the moment I liked their debut song and I like this one. Good Job bugAboo.

I WAS WAITING FOR YOUR REACTION TO POP SINCE YESTERDAY. THIS SONG IS CRAZY GOOD. Idk what genre is this but can i just say it's so good and lively and refreshing and very kpop. Bugaboo was good as a debut song but this???? It's a masterpiece. Pop is a reminiscent of 2nd gen gg + f(x), imo.

New debut this morning Lapillus; HIT YA. Very impressive for a debut it's a freaking Bop and you got a mix of Chinese Korean Argentinian American all across the board the kind of young to like 14 to 18
I was so confused at first but this song grew on me so much!! Its SO GOOD 😍
I was instinctively preparing to be let down by the chorus due to the majority of kpop girl group songs this year so I was absolutely shellshocked, flabbergasted, losing my shet, when I heard the singing in the chorus. It’s so good. 😭✨✨
Not to mention that little rap section hit extremely hard too, the bridge was lovely and the dance break was super impressive too!
For me, I thought their debut was definitely different than what we were seeing from a lot of groups and at first I was not sure how I felt about it but I knew I liked it but I couldn’t put it into words as to what it was that I liked about it and why I was drawn to it. As time went by, I can tell you now that I absolutely love this song and I am always finding my way back to the song for me the song just gives me this different feeling this different vibe it reminds me of a different time in K-pop and it just gives me this warm feeling inside and I just love that type of feeling that he gives me. As far as this come back, I really love it I really enjoy this type of sound that they are making for themselves. It just once again is something that’s different and I enjoy the fact that it has a different vibe to it it reminds me of a video game or I’m in a video game world and it’s just very interesting the sound the melody the tune and how everything was structured from start to finish. I really like this group because they just seem to bring a different type of energy and a different type of side to the K-pop world and it just kind of gives you a nice breather. I was quite pleased with this come back I’m very happy with it
With its switches between genres and distinct sections and interesting arrangement, this song succeeds at what NMIXX's O.O tried and failed to do.
I think NMIXX’s O.O was more successful in doing that, music is an art and art cannot be a failure.
@@redbaymax2852 no nmixx failed. They got publicity due to the hate people had towards the song. The transitions between genres was rocky as hell while the ones in this song where smooth yet unexpected.

@@Suxx4u I highly disagree, and think O.O is a well produced song and it’s still really high on MelOn Daily Charts with it gaining 40K ULs a day, still running higher on Spotify SK than Savage and Dreams Come True by Aespa which were seen as more popular and gaining 450K+ Spotify streams daily (with almost 500K sales of their album). Clearly, if they failed, this wouldn’t have happened and the album released three days after the song, and people still didn’t cancel their preorders. After all that, and saying it failed is a wildly incorrect statement

Bugaboo wasn't my thing, but man this was a pleasant surprise!! I was hoping the verses would have more than just the shouting part, but the chorus and bridge are so good I'll give it a pass. Girl groups please keep making these amazing chorus's I beg !!!

I personally haven’t totally fallen for them, yet! But there is something that keeps me interested in them and this point you mentioned, might be the reason, because I am really into the second generation!
About their name… I didn’t care that they are called bugAboo.
The only thing I started to think about was that they are devided into units/teams as bug and boo (3 per each).
So it would have been cool if they were a seven members group devided the same way but the leader would have represented the “A” as the one, who connects them into one group

I love it and i love their b-side of this single! It's colorful like bugaboo but different at the same time! i see what you want to say about the story that isn't clear! But i love the mv specially the CGI, it's good! But the structure lost me a little, i prefer the pré-chorus and the chorus than the Bop, Bop! I prefer bugaboo title track but Bop is fine!
