Greetings from Scotland! Diana said that this is her favourite song to perform because it's perfect for her natural dramatic contralto vocals so is easy for her to sing without stress. I think it adds a colour and depth to this song which works very well. That "growl" you heard was Diana's inner Siberian Tigress!!! :) This girl physically changes before singing, she "becomes" the song and only re-appears at the end after that feirce stare into the camera. Then she is "back in the room" and smiles at the audience & judges as if to ask "Was that OK?" An amazing transformation that I have witnessed many many times. A truly fascinating phenomenon! She said in a recent TV interview that when she performs she "isn't really there on stage" She has to watch a video of the show to see how things were and how she behaved. This is the mark of a very special artist. Great reaction ladies! You have just added another subscriber! More Diana please?? :)

I'm still trying to wrap my head around someone being polyphonic (can sing more than one tone at once). It produces such gorgeous tones, the way Diana uses this technique. Add to that, her being a contralto (like Cher), which some think is the rarest voice type. She is a phenomenal talent and I can’t get enough of her voice 🤯❤️
Diana is special, for sure. Now go from Russia to Ukraine and do Tatiana from Jinjer and you'll experience another surprise.

Diana (dee-ah-na) was abandoned by her abusive mother at a bus stop with a broken collarbone at the age 3 and placed in an orphanage, diagnosed with cognitive impairment. Her adoptive mother had her enroll in singing lessons because her speaking was severely limited due to abuse and neglect. Her singing talent was immediately noticed and the rest, as they say, is history. It's a safe prediction that you'll have goosebumps and say that's the most unique voice you've ever heard.
Fun fact she uses the sane technique that Cher uses to sing she sings more from the lower chest and back of the vocal chords that is how the voice is lower but beautifully done by her even though her mom left her on the streets and was adapted by her moms sister who taught her to sing
She had a difficult childhood. When she was 3 years old, an alcoholic mother wanted to drown her in the bathroom, oa began to stutter then a shelter, adoption.
