    My husband and I sat down to watch (no, not just watch, study) this video before we went straight to Eazea and purchased their gate+door lock. Biggest considerations for us were the presence of fingerprint lock inside the gate lock (since I leave my door open all the time and don't want to use a remote to unlock the gate from inside) and that the fingerprint sensors are perfectly placed to just open the gate/door without shifting hand position. Very happy with our decision. Thank you so much for your recommendations! You are such a great resource and we really appreciate your advice!

    hello, thanks for your video. It is interesting to continue in the form of only a lock on the door (without garage ones, as in this video), which you can actually buy in Europe, and where the build quality, materials will be put first, and then the functionality will go.

He shares at lot of very good solutions however they are all useful for and products from USA since he is based there so not all his solutions are not practical in SG although they are still good. The best solution I like from his channel is the NFC contact strips and door contacts. I'm using Yale paired locks for the past 9 months, and it's been great!
    However, mine is locked instantly though, even before the gate closes properly. A bit annoying tbh. What I did previously was play with the timer settings, then felt it was too long (10 seconds minimum) and change it back to instant.
    Also another good point about Yale, is that I can track the battery life using Samsung SmartThings app on my phone, and set the automation to light up my Philips Hue in a certain color when the gate's battery is lower than 10%. And it works! I don't have to keep tracking when my battery will be out. 😂

    Nice review, i am using solity myself.
    You may wish to include the thickness of the locks, as some older HDB door to gate clearance is much smaller then newer HDB.

    I have a super basic question. If the gate lock is already equipped with a smart lock, we technically don’t even need the main door to be locked yeah? For example, can I have the Aqara a100 installed on the gate, and leave the main door as normal? (Can Aqara a100 be installed on the main gate I wonder).

    Hi Alex, a recent new viewer of your channel here. Thank you so much for your effort in making these videos.
    The pairing of gate + door locks are useful when coming back home. However, if I am at home and unlock the main door lock, would the gate lock also unlock itself? Hi Alex, thanks for the informative review and sharing! I was wondering do you know any digital gate and door lock bundle that can integrate with smart home solutions to trigger certain routines - e.g. depending on who unlocks the door, trigger a "Welcome Home" message with routine customised to the person? Thank you!

    • @AlexTeo
      @AlexTeo  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      from the lock itself, it doesnt pass the message back to the smart home platform of who unlocked the door. So the only way is to have that identified within the smart home platform and probably only home assistant can do that. I didn't have such automation configured but I would guess that there needs to be a condition check of which home members have not been connected to the home wifi for the last 15mins

    Question for the gate locks:
    how is it installed? Do they have to replace the existing gate or is it added on?

    Thank you!

    • @AlexTeo
