Can I ask a silly question? Is it possible to remove the entire metal roof and replace it with tempered glass? Like a massive sunroof. Then put a shade glider from inside. How about this idea?
I'm sure it can be done, but the question is: can you afford it? custom tempered glass panel, custom installation solution, cutting the car up, etc. not to mention structural reinforcement. the roof is an important structural component.
Hi kong question i have 2004 mitsubishi lancer were having a rainy season in california. I notice i have water in the passenger side it reach in the back rear. My molding rubber os worned out. I also notice theres moisture build up inside the car in the driver all the way to the back on the window. Also both rubber moding are worned out driver and passenger worned. Do you think its that rubber molding? Where can i find those ? I ck ebay and cant find it for sure dealership is ripped off price and i dont want to spend too much money. Also going and look in the junkyard coz thise rubbers will be worned too. Any suggestion how to seal it? Thanks
I actually found my replacement from the junk yard in pretty good condition. It's always super cheap at those junkyard. The purpose of Roof Drip Molding is to channel the rain water from the top of the vehicle to the back of the car like the gutter on a house. The molding prevent you form getting wet when entering and exiting your vehicle on a raining day. You should looking into the seal of the doors or windows. They might had gone bad and water is coming through them. It might also be the humidity in your car. I hope this help you out.
@@donkeykongchang kong theres a heavy moisture build up inside the car. I will have them check the rubber seals in my doors and windows ots the driver side and its soaking wet i did vaccum the water inside. Thanks

Probably because drip moulding for the Evo 8/9 is super expensive. Base model lancers between the years 2002 and 2007 have the exact same part though so people get the drip moulding off of those and put them on their evos 👍🏼
To tell you the truth. I got both the roof drip molding from "Pick & Pull" (junk yard). It was a holiday special, 40% off anything pulled from the yard, so i could not pass on such deal.

Seen people remove the roof and put a carbon fiber roof. From what I heard and seen it’s riveted on.
