Man that is really cool. Back in the '80's I wanted one of those, but couldn't afford it at the time. The coolest thing about it is the 5 shot pellet clip. You can't get one like that anymore. I have a Daisy 822, which is also .22 caliber, but it has a wooden stock and forearm grips. It doesn't have a pellet clip like the 922 did. In stock condition my 822 was shooting around 550fps, but I installed the Daisy upgrade parts and now it's shooting 710fps. Unfortunately the upgrade parts do not work with the older Daisy 922, or the older 880's since the internals were re-designed at a later date. If you decide to buy a modern 880, make sure to find a metal pump handle (the cast version from the '80's is the one that works) and install it on your new 880. Then buy the upgrade parts and install them. An upgraded, modern 880 will shoot at 875fps with 15 pumps. A stock 880 will shoot around 685fps. I did the upgrades on my 922 and my 880 because I use both rifles for squirrel hunting and the extra power allows the rifles to reach out to 50 yards fairly easily.

@@Crazy_Dave There are places online, by doing a google search, to find rebuilt seal kits for older 880's and 922's. Their internals are different from the new ones so the higher power upgrade parts Daisy offers won't work. But you can at least rebuild the old 922 with new seals.
Yes, that can be hard to find but I would keep an eye on Ebay as they do come up for sale sometimes. The five shot clips are also difficult to come by and can be expensive. Cost will depend on condition so I would say anywhere between $175 to $400.
nice! if you haven’t already definitely try atleast 10 different types and brands of pellets and i’m willing to bet that you’ll find a pellet that the 922 likes even better have you cleaned the barrel?
Using the H&N Field Target Trophy Green 9.57 grain pellet I got 603.7 FPS at 9 pumps/ Using the Crosman Priemer Hollow Point 14.3 grain pellet I got 506.7 FPS at 9 pumps.

have you cleaned the barrel?
Yes, I thoroughly cleaned it when I was replacing the seals. Once the weather gets a little warmer I plan on shooting it more using different pellets.

What upgrades have you done
Nothing has been done to increase velocity. I basically just tore it down and replaced the old parts so it would shoot like new again.
What year did this come out?
First production year was 1978.
