The reason why mona being A was so intense, was because the girls had a personal connection to her. Cece was a minor stanger character, and alex was someone we didnt even know 😭

Mona was the best A of all🤭 Charles could've been a great reveal also, but Cece was a let down in my opinion
her friendship with Hanna made it almost painful. It was a true betrayal and the other two A's just didn't have that same impact.

I remember being shocked with the Mona reveal (although looking back it’s obvious), and I still think it was great 😊
Mona as A just made sense, and it’s definitely the best A reveal in the entire series. The build up was amazing, like faking the texts from A to sort of become a mutual friend to the liars, and then the bombshell is dropped.
I think it's also down to the fact that that's who it was in the books and (correct me if I'm wrong I haven't watched the show/read the books in ages) the show made it quite similar, but then the show did different reveals to the books after. So because of the books it meant that the show's first reveal made sense and was planned out?
@@carysgwenllian yes they mostly followed the character plots/storylines of the books up to a little past the first reveal aside from adding a few new characters and changing Tobys story a little and then they went on their own and pretty much screwed everything up.

Its really disgusting that Ezra knew that his teenage girlfriend and her friends were being tortured by A and did absolutely nothing about it. He was an adult, authority figure and teacher and didn't even go to the cops or tell their parents.
Funny thing bout him and cops. S'pose he did go to them? Any investigation they'd do would possibly lead to his relationship with Aria being discovered. He couldn't have that. Gross

I think they wanted to have Ezra be A, but they decided not to so they just made up that book storyline. Like it didn’t make any sense and it seemed so unplanned
I also wanna know how they managed to ruin all of mystery and suspense about the night Alison died? Their explanation was so stupid and full of coincidences - like Bethany having the same clothes and both of them just happened to be hit and buried? I wish they made it so that Alison killed a girl to stage her own death.
I completely agree with you, the explanation of that night was so messy, it left me more confused and with more questions (especially about the coincidences you pointed out) than before 😂

All these years later I still don’t understand what happened the night Alison went missing. I feel like the big mystery of the show was what happened that night, the very first thing as the audience we see, not who A was
yeah! what if Alison was being followed and tormented by A so then arranged to meet A, but A tricked her and paid Bethany to go, Allison in the heat of the moment and attacked her killing her, Allison realises what she's done, swaps clothes with her and runs where she bumps into Mona (A) who has witnessed the kill but knows that sh'll be uncovered as A if she reports Ali, therefore helps Allison runaway and still gets what she wants
@@lauraj6694 Alison and the others were doing a sleepover, Alison drugs the others with a sleeping pill and then goes to meet Ezra to see if he's A and goes to meet Ian to film a joke video (?????), then Spencer wakes up (she was using drugs at that point so the sleeping pills had less effect on her) and goes to comfort Ali with a shovel because they both liked Ian at this point and Ali tells her that if she goes back she won't tell anybody about her drugs problem. Then Cece throws a rock at her thinking that she was Bethany who escaped Radley by taking Cece's clothes, Alison faints and Jessica arrives and thinks that Cece murd3r3d her and she begans to bury her alive to protect Cece. Meanwhile Bethany was hit or kill3d by Mona (I honestly don't remember) who thought that Bethany was Alison and she escapes leaving Bethany's body there, and FINALLY Melissa, who has seen Spencer with a shovel, arrives and sees Bethany's body, thinks that she's Alison and that Spencer hit her and proceeds to bury her in order to protect Spencer. BOY WTF.
I've just convinced myself that aria and Allison were A all along and they never found out. Its made the show better to me lol. Like Alison was pretending to be co dependent to get sympathy and that she somewhere along the line wanted Emily so she did the egg thing. Idk, I just needed to convince myself this to enjoy the show

i think alex kidnapping Spencer in the beginning of season 7 and then pretending to be her for the rest of the season until we find out that spencer is actually kidnapped would've made the AD reveal much better
like there could've been a few moments where 'spencer' acted sus and the other girls grow more and more suspicious of her until they figure it out in the end

Yeahhh or an instead of the normal A reveal they'd already done loads of times, what if we got the A reveal very beginning of season 7 where Alex confronts Spencer and kidnaps her and the rest of the season was from Alex's perspective, so we the audience know what the liars don't and are eagerly waiting for the girls to work it out. That way, we do actually know Alex by the end.

This would’ve been great because spencer was usually the one who suspected everyone, to have the girls suspect her would’ve been cool
Here’s my rewrite of the show:
1st A- Mona, keep seasons 1-4 the same
2nd A- Ezra, use his creepy book/relationship with Alison as his motivation (reveal this all here, not earlier). Make it so that he is the one who hit Alison on the night she died, tried to bury her, then she woke up and killed another girl and swapped clothes to cover it up (thought A hit her so she runs away)
3rd A- Alison, she would come back at the same time but be much better written, stay cruel and evil and want to get back at the girls for some fun or to punish them for getting over her (I don’t care if it’s predictable but it’s better)
They need to hire you. I love your 3rd theory, I hate how Allison changed into a sweet character. I feel like it would have been better if AT LEAST they kept her character bitchy and mean

I will forever be salty about Mona not getting a proper redemption arc meanwhile Alison does when she doesn't deserve it
Honestly, I think the reason why Mona remains the best written "-A" is because it's also in the books, so basically Sara Shepard already had done all the work. We can see that after her reveal, all the other new "-A" created by the showrunners didn't work as well. Toby and Aria had the best potential since we already had a personal connection with them, but it's like the writers didn't plan anything past their reveal. There was absolutely no repercussions and I completely share the same frustration.
They should have just stuck with the A in the books but have the twist me both spolier for book:
Courtney and Allison were both alive and one was A and the other wasn't and board short could be the other A who was the boyfriend of who every they decided was A instead of Nick since he was never in the show.

The writing on this show blows my mind. How can an entire group of writers be so lazy? Like HOW were they not catching all the insane plot holes?

I feel like all the twins and extra siblings and familial connections were so unnecessary and ruined the show for me. I kinda feel like it would be slightly better if Bethany Young was revealed as Alisons sister and it would make more sense as to why A was so fascinated with Aria since all the clues point out that Aria was a patient in Radley. Ugh, I really love all the clues and mystery but the execution of it all is frustrating and quite frankly sad
Thank you. Like the twins from the first Halloween episode. I thought that would lead to something about Ali having a twin. Then one of the ghost girls showed up at Hanna's house and had a full conversation with her mother. What was that about? Dang it, Marlene King.
@@simplyjuannie5128 I was convinced for a bit it was Hanna who had a twin and had hurt them or something and the Mum chose to keep Hanna so the twin was A to get revenge, and Alison somehow knew about the twin (she had blackmail-worthy info on everyone else) but Hanna had no memory of it. It's not that I thought it was a goodstoryline I just had a feeling the show would get tacky, and it did but it was Spencer and Jessica who got the twins lmao.
Plus, it would explain Hanna's parents splitting up better, and why Hanna's dad didn't seem fussed about her. It would also explain why she hated having a step-sister, if on a sub-conscious level she hated having a twin sister to begin with.
Did we all forget that Toby did try to kill Spencer, he locked her in the steam room and it was never addressed.
It wasn’t Cece because she was with Emily and it wasn’t Mona because she was in New York and it definitely wasn’t Alex because she doesn’t exist as far as I’m concerned nor does the timeline match.
Melissa ate every scene she was in she was lowkey annoying but she terrified Spencer and it was awesome.

I am convinced that they had an intern who's job was literally just to search TH-cam and twitter for theories and document how many times each character was pegged and then the writers eliminated possible As based on that list because literally EVERY time an A was revealed, everyone else in the series made more sense.
You should do a whole series on wasted characters. Starting with Noel Kahn, man what a waste. Noel Kahn, Melissa, Lucas, NAT club, Jenna all the original creeps had so much potential and they could've tied them into the whole show and made it make sense but no they had to abandon their plots and throw in Sara Harvey, Shana, Addison, Leslie Stone, Bethany, Sydey... like they were all so pointless.
You should do a "rewriting PLL" video, where you narrate the storyline they way YOU would have done it. Like deleting useless plots and characters, adding more detail into some other storylines etc.

I think Ezra should have been A, because he was perfect for it, it would make sense because aria trusted him and told him all her secrets and stuff she hadn’t told certain people so it gave him a big advantage to hurt her and her friends and anyway I never really like them together, because it was just wrong in so many ways.

The Mona reveal was awesome, the Cece reveal was decent but had so many plot holes and things that didn’t make sense, and the Alex reveal was bullshit

I feel like the reason Mona was never forgiven was because she started the A game, she came up with the idea, the idea that got so out of hand and ended up with so much PTSD, Anxiety and physical unsafety.
Although, its weird though that they forgave Alison for essentially doing what Mona did, manipulating them, pitting them against each other, blackmailing them, controlling their romantic lives e.c.t.... tbh I think Mona was inspired to create the A game, FROM what Alison could do, and wanted the POWER Ali had
I agree with everything you said about Mona. For Alison, I think they forgave her only because the girls spent so much time finding what happened to her the night of her disappearance and after that. So when she camed back, it was like they had no choice to stick being her friend since they were always depicted as Alison's friends.
@@kimfortier9300 exactly!! The girls spent so long trying to figure out what happened to Ali, it kind of overtook their lives and when Ali came back, they felt indebted to her. The brief storyline where they froze Ali out after she came back should have lasted longer, and maybe lead to Ali being the final A

Something I didn’t like about Toby being A was spencer forgave him so quickly. I think she should’ve given more time to forgive him to build up the anticipation of them getting back together. Even though Toby was trying to protect her, it caused her a lot of agony and it would make sense if she needed time to heal.
Honestly I feel like all of the girls were way too forgiving.

Toby would have been better as a “Always been on the A team but actually grew to care for Spencer and the other girls” cause his backstory-we know like Mona-he has a justifiable reason to be A and it works so much better than “I wAs PrOtEcTiNg YoU”
Also, I wished Noel had been the one to pull Ali out. Watching season 1 and 2, I felt like Noel was *too* arrogant/confident I always wondered if the actor did it on purpose (and we find out he knew she was alive the whole time) so why not have another character we already know from the beginning play a big part in that night instead of some random old lady?
Mona’s reveal is the absolute best. I remember watching it live and being absolutely SHOCKED and excited. She was a character we already knew. As you mentioned, we knew her backstory so we could see the reasoning behind why she would want to torture the liars.
Literally the only good thing about Spencer's twin reveal was you had to respect her mum (the one who raised her) a bit more. She loved Spencer and treated her as her own instead of a product of an affair her husband had. That is sweet. But that's literally the only good thing and honestly that is more just cause they added this twist after having establishing the relationship between Spencer and her mum.
Yeah Omg see if Jason was A it would explain why Aria’s hair in the dolls house changed cause he commented on it in the earlier seasons saying he missed it or smfn

I will forever be convinced that the ultimate A was Wren but they changed it because they wanted to outsmart us and throw in plot holes for fun 😫
I always thought it'd be really cool if Spencer knew about her twin before and Alex had some issues so when she stayed with the Hastings for a little they kept it quiet because they're obsessed with their image, she was there that night and she was the one who killed Bethany, Melissa saw Alex, not Spencer but Spencer had been covering for her and once she found out she was A, started to work alongside her but also trying to stop her from the inside. So the end reveal could've been them hugging and reuniting but ultimately Spencer would have to choose between her family or her friends. If they really wanted to go the twin route.
Is it just me who likes to think that Toby got mixed up and let Alex walk and she is still pretending to be Spencer. I would have loved that! Then Spencer would be with Mary in Mona Doll House.
Yeah literally why did they push this narrative that "Spencer might have killed Alison" for so long, only for it to mean literally nothing in the end and for it to have just been Mona just randomly thrown in during the CeCe reveal. It would have been so much better if they utilised Alex into the plot during the time when CeCe was A, especially since around that time they did in face know each other according to Alex.
the problem with the show as a whole that it was never willing to raise the stakes and i think that’s seen in the reveals. any major character that was revealed as A was just a red herring and all the actual As (except mona) were side characters or someone we’d never seen before and it made the reveals rlly bad imo
The show needed to learn to take risks. They were too scared of doing anything shocking or daring
the toby reveal when he’s walking mona back to radley will never not shock me. the last time i watched it (which was the 3rd time) i was waiting for it and when it happened i audibly gasped, it look me like a full 20 seconds to realize i already knew this bit of information.
He played that scene soooo well and those pretty blue eyes against that black hoodie with his face all brooding. It was creepy, shocking yet made sense, and was beautifully shot!
You would honestly be able to do a whole video focused on Melissa Hastings as a character because there was so much contrast and the juxtaposition with her character and it was fascinating
The thing about Noel was - they really wanted to push Aria and Ezra's relationship down our throats. If they hadn't completely villainized Noel, he would always seem like a better option, and, especially after everything Ezra did, the fans would've rooted for Noel and Aria instead
Noel and Aria were endgame in the books and i loooved them so much. So upset they didnt give them a chance in the show 😔

One of the things that I remember from the finale is that I was so invested in this show that I always read theories and create my own theories as well. Before the finale aired a lot of us figured it out it was going to be a twin, so that element of surprise wasn’t even there. Marlene failed us all through years.
I still believe this show could’ve been the best mystery drama show of its time if they would have planned the seasons better
I love this channel and I 100% wish you would write, cast, direct, and release an alternate series of this show so that we can all have the Pretty Little Liars that we deserve.

There's an amazing theory that the second A was supposed to be Wren and it's SO GOOD and makes sense. He's close to the girls but not too close and just around sometimes
The Wren theories always made the most sense to me. They were sooooo good. The writers could have NEVER come up with the amazing Wren theories fans came up.
If I remember correctly he was supposed to be AD but he wasn’t available for shooting when they needed him which is dumb asf cause it proves they didn’t plan it ahead of time to make sure everything was good to go
I hate that there is always foreshadowing of stuff that doesn’t end up happening. I love in shows that do that well that I can rewatch and see little clues. But in pll the writers only write after the fact and rewatching is not as fun as it was the first time I find myself getting frustrated because of the plotholes
I think it would’ve been better if Aria was A/A.D. because throughout the whole show, she is supposed to be the main protagonist (basically).
So at the end, we find out that the main protagonist was actually the antagonist all along, it would’ve been a huge plot twist to shock the audience the correct way.
my favorite thing to watch lately is pretty little liar theory videos that were made before a.d. was revealed and they’re so much better than the actual ending imo

I feel like Sara cared about the girls and Emily. We knew Sara was working for Charlotte and she just agreed on torturing some random girls? I think Charlotte found Sara and blackmailed her that she is going to reveal that Sara is alive and not missing. Maybe Sara escaped from her home for a unknown reason, she mentioned her parents were divorced so I guess they were fighting a lot and maybe that is a reason. After Charlotte's death we knew Sara was after her money and she thought that it was in Radley, but again why did Sara just tell the girls where Mary Drake file is? Also I think Sara started liking the girls because they were nice to her and they wanted to help her, we saw in 6x10 that she was about to destroy Radley and by that she would kill herself... But why do that for Charlotte? We know she told the girls to get out of Radley because she didn't want them dead.She was killed by Noel for what reason again? NEVER EXPLAINED. I kinda liked Sara, they did her dirty honestly...

As much as I love Aria for A, I feel like Ezra NEEDED to be A to redeem the whole show. Throughout the series, Ezra was written as the good guy despite dating a minor (more than once) and having a very shady past. The writing was done in a way that made us somehow root for him despite all of this and I think the only way that would be okay was if it was a HUGE red herring all along. Also explains why A never really did much to break them up and I don’t think they ever made enough of his shady past and his book etc
Mona was the solid one, no plot holes, the motive was acceptable and her actions didn't kill anyone. Altough she did ran over Hanna which was really not needed, her helpers were Melissa and Lucas and their motives were good( Lucas had a better motive in my opinion but Melissa had too since she had no choice bcs. Mona was blackmailing her)... Even though Charlotte or Big A is my favourite A, her reveal had so many plot holes. Besides them the reveal was not done well enough and it was just her and Ali sitting on a bed in Radley throughout the whole episode, also Sara was useless completely as Red Coat and Black Veil. Her helpers were Jessica, Mona, Sara, Noel, Wilden, Ezra, Melissa and Shana and they honestly had weak motives(Shana, Wilden and Mona kinda had ok motives and Jessica too since she was her mother)and Charlotte herself had a weak motive... Besides that she played the game the best and she did the best pranks and had the most emotional backstory too. Another thing I wanna say is how much I hated the toxic people who hated on a reveal just because their favourite character was not Big A, specifically Wren or Melissa... The A.D. reveal was shocking but could have been done better, Alex had a bad motive considering she just hated Spencer for no reason, she could have gone away with all of that but she got addicted to the game like Charlotte was(she could have ended it when Shana died because girls thought Shana was Big A). Her helpers were kinda lame because again no real motives besides Jenna and Archer, Wren was just toxic Mary and Aria were blackmailed and Sydney no comment... Overall the best A is Charlotte, the best reveal was Mona for me. If I could have picked who A, Big A or A.D. would have been I would have picked Mona to stay the OG A, Charlotte or Alison to be Big A without plot holes and Paige to be A.D. or maybe even Aria
Mona really was the only A that truly worked well as a reveal. Of course there's the main fact that she is a known character the audience actually cared about, but there was also a bunch of other stuff that worked for her reveal.
For one, she had a motive that was well-known and basically already explained pretty early in the show. Everyone already knew how she was bullied badly by Ali and the other girls. The reveal worked there because she didn't have to stop and spend the majority of the episode explaining her tragic backstory like Cece and Alex did; we already knew it.
Also, we knew enough about her that the idea that she could do this wasn't unreasonable. She had moments of being manipulative and cruel already and was known to be smart (even if mostly by assumption due to her being nerdy). You can't really have any catharsis when you don't know enough about a character to assume this is in-character which is a problem the other two, Cece being minor and Alex being totally unknown.
There's also the fact that A was still both more sparsely used and had at least some level of realism to her. Sure there were certain things that seemed a bit absurd, but for the most part a lot of Mona A's actions could be the actions of one super smart and well-connected person. The later seasons have A doing things so outside any type of suspension of disbelief, the idea that anyone could do all of that completely untraceable and with little help is insane. Especially since these people aren't known to be super rich so it's not like the excuse of them having a lot of money to do this stuff works.
Mona's reveal just made more sense all around since the writers weren't trying to outsmart the audience. A mystery doesn't work if the audience is kept out of the loop.
That Christmas episode was the turning point. I thought they were going to reveal that Ali had a twin sister who was given away as a child. I thought they were going to say that Aria was unstable and in a mental hospital for a year when Ali disappeared. Emily was supposed to be with Toby, but they changed it to fit him with Spencer (gag).
I really love how passionate she gets talking about pll because I got so frustrated with it at times and seeing her analyze everything together is really cool
I stand by if Marlene wanted a twin reveal she should’ve just followed the books. The reveal was shocking but it made sense. Alison/Courtney/A was a terrifying antagonist and the stakes were a lot higher. The characters themselves while arguably awful human beings were a lot more real and it dealt with actual issues such as Ezra and Toby being abusers, and mental illness a lot better!

Honestly, for the entire series I was convinced that Tanner was A. Although I didn’t really have that much evidence, I found it strange how she was always working on the cases but practically never actually solved anything. She did a lot of finger pointing at the girls without much proof to back it up, especially knowing their history of getting framed. Additionally, the thing that originally got me set on this theory is that when Tanner goes to Ashley Marin’s bank to investigate, Tanner takes a butterscotch from her desk. All the time throughout the show, there would be clips of A taking candies, and most often butterscotch, from different places. This theory probably doesn’t make sense, but just wanted to share.
I agree she just seemed SO shady I can't explain it but she was a character I didn't like that much

I will say, for all the flaws and faults the show had, I can’t help but still love it. It was one of the only (if not THE only) show I have ever seen that I was actually excited about putting pieces together and analyzing and debating and theorizing. There is definitely a lot they could have done better, and plot holes that could have been fixed, but overall it was a fun ride. I wish there was another show that could get me that excited. Often makes me wonder if there was someone we never learned about (that might explain some plot holes) that could be revisited in like a mini season reunion for old times sake.
Even though Alex Drake is made out to be just as crazy as CeCe, it’s really sad how Alex didn’t even try to get to know Spencer and instead tried to just take over her life. CeCe kinda brainwashed her into hating the Hastings family, so she never even thought that Spencer was going to accept her, which she actually might have if Alex had reached out instead of going full psycho. Spencer was never her enemy, Mary was the one who sold her away.

I think that Aria could have been A but up to a certain point of the show because towards the end she was being tortured just as much as the other girls. They should have at least given her a storyline on her obvious connection with Radley and mental illness though. Damn I really wanted her to be A..
That said, I actually believe that the characters that would have covered up every mysteries in the show were Melissa and Wren, since they both had a bond with Charlotte and if felt like they all were really good friends(plus all the clues and the fact that we knew them from the very first episode).
I wish Jason was A instead of cece. the Nat club could have a a bigger thing and a motivation. he obviously had a thing for aria. cece could still be Charlotte his sister, but that would just be such an interesting story.
it would also make sense as to why people of his generation like wilden, Melissa, garret and such were involved with these teenagers
also imagine he had been in Radley for a while and had like a picture of aria and that's how Eddie lamb recognised her
YES and the element of the girls and viewers feeling bad for him like they did Cece's A would still be there as his family were clearly messed up, he wasn't a happy child. Him being A made the most sense to me especially as for a time he must've thought one of the girls murdered Alison. I did like Mona's reveal and I liked her being the mastermind behind it, but to some extent A always felt like a Team to me - Jason putting Mona up to it and her having motive becuase of her bullying, her obsession with dolls and her excitement over the game, but it all being because of Alisons disappearance made so much sense. But then they went off with A scaring Alison etc and that theory didn't make sense anymore.

A bit of a rant....
At a certain point in the show they went completely off the deep end with having everyone being a "secret family member" of this one family. They made ALL of the main characters except Spencer pretty much irrelevant. The A's were no longer attacking the girls because of their personal connection to the girls (the girls doing something to them) but now the girls were just friends with the wrong people, in the wrong place, at the wrong time? There's ZERO actual reason for Cece or Alex to be A to these girls??? Mr Dilaurentis ruined Cece's life? Then why did she never do baiscally anything to him???? Alex was given up by Mary & then thrown out by her adopted parents??? Then go after THEM!!! What do the girls have ANYTHING to do with these "tragic backstories"???? The girls have literally nothing to do with these character's. "They were happy Ali was gone" is NOT a reason! Specifically when YOU get her THROWN IS PRISON for a murder that didn't happen, pay people to torure her in there, torture & torment her YOURSELF including with the footage of you burrying her Mum! Like GET OUT Cece. "I need to find out who killed Charlotte" is ALSO not a reason. You're supposedly a GENIUS! You can create these eleborate board games & ridiculous underground CIA style bunker's, hack into anything & everything but you can't use that intelligence to figure out who did it yourself? Why would the girls be able to figure it out? What did they EVER figure out? Then you're jealous of Spencer??? So you really want to spend your ENTIRE life pretending to be someone you're not & faking everything about yourself including an accent 24/7??? just to have friends? family? WHY NOT JUST GO TALK TO SPENCER!! Why not be with Wren & start your OWN family???
Like the whole Dilaurentis/Hastings clan are all inter related all of a sudden. Every reveal is about some secret family member of this family group & it was so painfully ridiculous. When Jason was revealed as Peter's son it was good & made a lot of sense, it felt grounded enough & believable drama but suddenly EVERYONE is a secret relative of this family group? EVERY finale after the Season 5 one is a secret relative of the Dilaurentis/Hastings clan!
Season 5 finale: Alison & Jason have a secret brother who is A!!
Season 6a finale: Cece is A & Alison & Jason's secret sibling!!!
Season 6 finale: Jessica Dilaurentis has a secret "evil" twin sister Mary (We find out Jessica is the ACTUAL "evil twin"), who is the aunt of Alison & Jason. Mary is also Cece's REAL Mother which means that Alison & Jason are actually Cece's cousins!!!
Season 7a finale: Spencer is revealed to be the secret child of Mary. Making Spencer Jason's half sister & cousin, Melissa's half sister, Cece's half sister, Alison's cousin, still Peter's daughter.....!!!
Season 7 finale: Alex Drake is A.D. & the secret evil twin of Spencer, Jason's half sister & cousin, Melissa's half sister, Cece's half sister, Alison's cousin, Mary Drakes other even MORE secret daughter as well as Peter's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???????!!!!!!!!!

The trans villain reveal was painful for me to watch and made so me angry. I was also really shocked and annoyed that I knew a bunch of spoilers going into finishing the serious (started watching it when it first aired but dropped off around season 3) but somehow the fact they do the evil trans women then kill her off trope somehow stayed hidden and i wouldn't have rewatched it if i knew. It was truly evil to do that, specially when they claim to be allies.
Does nobody else think it’s grim that Ezra knew who Aria was when he met her? he new she was friends with Alison, he knew she was a CHILD and decided to groom her??? he’s the real villain

im really happy you brought up how cece’s trans identity was handeled! it was super traumatic for me as a kid, before transitioning, watching the show. it was the first trans character that i saw on tv, and that says alot abt...everything...i got super dissapointed and the series never felt the same after that.

@@SerenaSkybourne thank u:) but its fine now, just at the time, struggling with identity, i was supposed to «hate» this character (cece) that happened to be trans, a character that are such a stereotypical trans villian. i think it is super important with diversity, pll just did it so wrong. but now theres alot of positive trans representation like pose or jules from euphoria!
Another thing that makes me mad is that Cece wasn't introduced until episode 7 of season 3. How are viewers supposed to speculate on A's identity when A hasn't even been introduced yet?

i feel like the writers liked to do big reveals at the end of seasons but then undo them in the first few episodes of the next season and have everything go back to normal i.e. with Ezra and Toby

Mona was the best A reveal. Toby working for A team was interesting. Even the audience thinking Ezra was A whilst spencer was trying to figure it out was better than Cece being A and Alex drake (someone who we never knew until last episode) being AD. Dollhouse was cool aspect, only if they based an entire season on that. Not done the “3 weeks later” thing. But yes so many plot holes. Unnecessary relationships (aria and Ezra - disgusting) (Emily and her multiple love interests, couldn’t keep up) (spencer and Caleb - wtf was that) So much drag only to find out it’s an evil twin. So horrible.
My second favorite A reveal was Toby. I was so shocked it was so creepy and it made sense. But then they said nah
With that big of an audience some people will guess who the villain is, even if it's really just a guess.
After watching for a while I just realized that whenever the girls suspected someone of being A that immediately meant they weren't because the show would obviously want to surprise us with the revelation.
So after a while it honestly got kinda boring seeing them investigate something knowing they weren't going to find out shit lmao

And this is not really about an A reveal but the fact that it was Alison's mother who buried her was so stupid to me and makes no sense. Like what kind of mother would do something like that? I get that she wanted to protect her other child (Cece) but she didn't even check if Alison really is dead or if she is breathing, literraly anything. Jessica just immediately buried her own daughter and to me it seemed like she didn't care at all.
It will forever frustrate me how good the Toby or Ezra is A storyline could have been, if only the writers weren't such cowards.
