The KEY To Style is Knowing Who You Are

- Here is the secret that nobody is telling you about gaining confidence and developing your personal style.
Confidence and personal style go hand-in-hand. Being well-dressed, having timeless style, even the quiet luxury movement: actually all these concepts are temporal. They change based on the culture, the era that you live in. They are open to interpretation to a certain extent.
However, CONFIDENCE is truly timeless.
Some people get caught in the trap of not buying good enough quality clothing because they think they’re not worth it. The lack of confidence can cause this misconception about shopping and buying clothes - it takes a little bravery to choose to do things differently and step into the fullness of who we are as women.

Fashion you can buy, but style you possess. The secret to style is knowing who you are, which takes years. There's no how-to road map for style. -Iris Apfel
Hi, Alanna! Thank you for this video, what a great way to start the week. 😊You are very wise and have a lovely vibe! ❤
Thanks Cat 🥰 the other day I realized since I have 2 little kids I'm totally allowed to give "motherly advice" haha 😄 I do feel like a wise old owl sometimes
Between your soothing voice and the chirping birds (plus the imagined smell of bread baking 😅), this may have been the most relaxing video about style I've ever seen! And a truly lovely sentiment, one that came just when it was needed most for me. It's so easy to get swept up in the self-criticism, picking our bodies apart for the silliest reasons. All of those outside voices are just a distraction. 💓
The house smelled amazing 😆 the oven alarm nearly gave me a heart attack, haha.
It's such a good way to put it: it's a distraction! Not who you truly are 🥰
Your channel is a breath of fresh air... thank you for this! I'm with you in turning up the volume of our own voices and wearing whatever the hell we want!🦁
Yesssss, oh yes! I am so passionate about it 😝 so fun to meet another Alanna, too, by the way x
@@AlannaLightheart So fun! 🥰
I have just fallen in love with you and your channel! Keep the positive vibe and great content coming! Thanks for the lovely sentiment!
That's so sweet of you ❤️ thanks so much for being here!
Such wisdom. I wish I had implemented this earlier in my life.
It's a journey for sure. I've had so many "a-ha" moments
Lovethe quote!! Thank you❤😊
Iris is absolutely iconic. I found many of her thoughts by searching for info on some ideas I was also having around confidence/ being true to yourself/ finding yourself through style... I resonate with so much. 🤩
❤
Thanks for being here 🥰
Great topic. However, I don’t want to blame my self doubt or lack of knowledge about style development on “the patriarchy”. 🤔 - Because it’s not just women who struggle w/ these issues. Thanks to social media and people like yourself, we can all learn and improve. ✨
Absolutely. We are all sovereign beings with multi-dimensional lives and influences can come from many places - for better or worse. Blame is never a healthy state because it takes the responsibility out of our own hands and places it outside of ourselves.
Confidence in oneself and one's image is, of course, highly nuanced and situational. (And can strike anyone)
I still stand by everything I said!
And I hope that social media can continue to be a force for empowerment at time in spite of it all 🤸♀️🙏
@AlannaLightheart. I agree with you that “Blame is never a healthy state because it takes the responsibility out of our own hands and places it outside of ourselves” and this is why it’s unhealthy to blame “the patriarchy”.
@@lu_re7198 Not blaming, simply highlighting that this is the reality of our society and has a huge impact on how women view themselves 💁🏻♀
@AlannaLightheart. Saying someone/something else is somehow responsible for your feelings/actions is blaming. And that’s unhealthy.
