I've watched this video twice now. I understood it better the second time. Lots of very helpful information. I think I will probably watch it again and again.

Thank you. This gives me hope and optimism. I have fibromyalgia. I was feeling pretty good at last. Still had pain but much less. Was sleeping better than before and could walk longer and further without the punishment of more pain. I used to cook dinner for our family before fibromyalgia so started doing it more regularly and started to participate more in our business including letting my partner push me somewhat to complete certain jobs. I suppose I was in stage 3 recovery. And then wallop! So much pain I can't even sleep. I am in agony! I refuse to back to lyrica. It was too difficult to get off it the first time. But your TH-cam videos give me hope. If I could get to stage 3 recovery before, I will get there again. I am resting and creating boundaries as recommended and praying for less pain. Thank you for the videos.

Thank you so much for watching, the recovery journey certainly is not linear - keep hope and we hope you feel better again soon.

Whilst I completely understand that many ppl with m.e fit this personality type I feel very alienated as I am not a perfectionist, high achiever, people pleaser. Where does that leave ppl like me who simply don't fit that pattern? I get frustrated with ppl trying to put me in that box when I don't fit, but more importantly it narrows down my options for recovery.

There is also the anxiety type and the trauma type, which they detail later.

I'm neither of them either. We don't all fit these boxes.

I agree. Those generalizations are false in my opinion. It can happen to anyone, and it had a genetic component as well.

@@rebfromme4504 1 i hope uve recovered/made progress/figured a few things out n thus gained more options for recovery :) i thought i wasnt any of these either, but turns out i got alot of negative core beliefs which somewhat fits in the trauma category. keep looking. meditation helped me cotton onto this in my case, goodluck

also wanted to add that attending to my posture with alexander technique has been really beneficial. after 5 yrs on my bum, id forgotten how to use my body efficiently. it's really gentle, ya just need energy to get there n back, cos there's no input n most understand if communication is difficult as they deal with a wide range of illnesses with fatigue as a core symptom.
after 8months, im now taller by 2" without dragging myself into correct posture. it's supposed to be relaxed n v energy efficient way of holding n using ur body, not a muscular thing. Previously yoga hurt, now it doesnt. its also helped with my frozen shoulder n previously dislocated hip, both which only start to hurt 2-3days b4 my next appointment, before it was constant :) it's also helped me feel less oxygen deprived, mewing has helped there too :D Poor posture tells the ANS it's still in threat mode. it's been slower, but had as much impact as quitting caffeine, dairy, sugar n cereals have been

How much time do people tend to be at stage 2? I know it's very personal, but what is the average amount of time?.

Hey, I've got one question. Can listening to an audiobook or these videos Count as deep rest? I feel like it calms me more than just laying there.

Great question! It will definitely be different for everyone depending on what helps you relax or what revs up your nervous system. If you feel a warm calm relaxed sensation during an activity that's a good sign it's good healing rest.

Are they making money out of theses awful illnesses ? which should be taken care of by state anyway..
I'm a french woman with ME and im totally discriminated because of the consequences on social and economical levels...

    • @JeromeKerr1

Well, yes they are. But making money off illnesses in way worse manners is common practice (pharma industry). Ohc actually make helpful points on an illness that willingly is badly understood, because valuable medication isnt in sight. The thing with me CFS is though, that you dont have to rely on somebody else finding a cure, the cure is often found within. Best wishes
