@24:50 "Time is irrelevant" is probably one of the most profound statements I've heard in one of your interviews because she's absolutely right. There is NO sense of time when you're homeless. None. Indeed, many of Sasha's observations were profound: null and void " social contracts" involving authorities; the loss of human decency; the siren song of the streets. Plus many others. A truly wise individual with a gigantic heart. YES! You are awesome👏

Hope she keeps her sense of humanity and finds a way to use her smarts and heart to get herself into a better position. Seems to me she is very capable of turning her life around. Good Luck to you, Sasha.
I never get why people are surprised about how smart addicts are. Most addicts are of higher intelligence and unfortunately makes them more susceptible to addiction as many of us cannot fathom why the rest of humanity is so cruel because we are not that way. We are caring empathetic people who are misunderstood and overlooked and drugs gave us a feeling of home and wings when ours were broken and sadly that beast becomes more then a choice after that. Most of us are smart and many of us are very high functioning. I’m now sober but if I could afford to use I would as it works better then any med the doctors give us but many end up on the streets because of no way to support it. The functioning ones you’d never know as we are everywhere the only difference is we work hard to support the habit and have boundaries we do not cross. Sorry I rambled but I’ll never get why ppl are surprised these ppl are smart. Of course they are and they’ve dealt with more then many will ever understand.
Yep! My wife, God rest her soul until i in get there!’, had a very abusive mother, her father died young so she was on the streets since 14, homeless, addicted, and was victimized. I’m an addict too.!I met her when she was 20 and after all that she was still the most beautiful soul I ever met in my life. She overdosed on fentanyl at 27.
@@myeyeswentdeaf6213 Was this fentanyl from a medical condition, or was it unknowingly mixed in with other street drugs, like heroin? The reason I ask is that I am a cancer patient, and use fentanyl patches as prescribed by my doctor. I do not feel a "high" of any sort. It confuses me how people could use this as a drug to get a buzz from? Maybe it is my dose was moved up very gradually by my doctor-
Sasha, thank you for being so vulnerable in this. I had a similar relationship with my dad he fought for us for a long time but sadly lost his battle with addiction before we could come together again. Please remember your kids love you always and it’s never too late to have a relationship with them. Even though you feel like you can’t give them everything they deserve they still love you and no one will ever replace you. BIG HUGS. Never forget how irreplaceable you are
I lost it when she talked about what her daughter said to her at the airport. Children are so precious, forgiving, understanding…I loved this interview. Thank you for sharing your story. You are worthy of love, of being seen…and we see you. ❤️
I can really relate to the feeling that “They won’t let me back into society…I’ve been gone too long.” I had to just decide I’m gonna break in if it’s the last thing I do. What are they gonna do…lock me up for trying? Anyone who doesn’t appreciate you trying isn’t worth worrying about. I do know the worry is real, the way they label people with addictions and put it on your record. But there are people out there who will give you a chance. And if not, well, it can’t exactly get worse than using and hustling in the streets, cycling through the system... What is there to lose, really?
You go girl Screw those people who think they are better They are the ones who are pitiful and unhappy Screw them You hold your head up as high as you can and strut- don’t walk You can do this You are going into it with a positive attitude I’m on the front row clapping and cheering you on Many hugs to you @Britta Olson

If she truly loved her children she would get sober and provide a better life for them. You have to show love with actions not just words. I do wish her and her kids the best in life though
Thank God I found this video, I honestly thought she passed away. 😣 We lost contact as teenagers. Sasha was my close friend growing up, She even lived with me here and there. we both lived on the edge as trouble teens and did some drugs together but I quit early and she just couldn’t shake it. We lost contact from the lifestyle changes 😕 Ive always ask our mutual friends if they heard or seen her. I would just hear pieces of her life. I’m just so glad ❤️ she’s still alive and her father is still alive as well .
I love you Lila always and forever I will always be great ful for all that you have done for me you never lost hope in me and everytime we have been reconnected You still treated me as your best friend the love was always there . That’s right! And addiction is not a character problem. It’s primarily a neurobiological problem, with psychological and social contributors. It’s nothing to be ashamed of! Everybody deserves nonjudgmental help to get better.

She’s right. A lot of people just have no compassion. As long as it’s bad for you & not for me! Wishing you the best of luck, Sasha. I know your Dad would be so very proud of you. ❤️
It's so scary that someone as intelligent and articulate as this person can still make horrible decisions that lead to the streets. I believe she'll beat her demons and reclaim her life, though.
So true. I was in gifted classes and spelling bees and extracurriculars as a kid, and I guess I thought I was too smart to get addicted. Wrong! I’m now, in my 40s, back in school studying the psychology and neurobiology of addiction, after a prodigious street career lol. We are learning SO much more about the process of addiction in the brain that I feel like we’re on the verge of a breakthrough, in the US, in terms of understanding what addiction really is and how it happens. About time! There are quite a few countries ahead of us. With our Puritan origins, we have hung on to moral explanations for too long. We need to take the brain studies and research and make it into a curriculum for kids. They need to know that it doesn’t matter how smart you are…addiction changes the brain and some people become addicted after their first use. It doesn’t matter how disciplined or rational you are now. The brain you have before you try drugs is not the same brain you have later. You might try 5 different drugs once and never think about it again, then conclude you don’t have an “addictive personality.” That’s exactly what I did. Then I tried a 6th drug, and put it down a decade later. If we teach the science of addiction in a way that’s accessible to kids, smart kids like her will get it. Then we have to reach the rest. Of course, there are always going to be people who have to learn the hard way, but I believe there’s more hope than people may think!
@KIWIFOGBOOM Articulate? You need to look up the meaning of that word. I found her very hard to understand. She talks too fast, cutting her words down. Her speech cadence was neither fluent nor coherent at times. ijs
She's beautiful through and through. Can't wait to see her get clean and feel free again. She's definitely a asset to somebody's life. Very intelligent. So much pain in her at the moment.
I fear those parents of her were too little, too late. She’s smart and expresses herself so well. It makes me feel sad for her. She’s worthy of a stable life. I hope she becomes clean and sober. She deserves that. She is brutally honest about herself. I pray she gets well. She has such wisdom.
This is such a powerful interview. Sasha you are so well spoken, and so smart. You have so much potential for your life. I believe you could be anything you chose to be. I hope you find your way to a clean, sober, beautiful life.
An incredible woman. Seriously intelligent. I wanted to hear more of her insight of herself and what she has learnt. Sasha - you have no limit. And today, you are so fortunate with the family you have who are helping you raise your children. I wish you all the strength you need and want, to rise above your addiction.
I know how she feels when she says in the beginning about going to school and not being picked when she knew the answers! It's so sad that people with great gifts often become addicted. I have seen it time and time again all through high school.
Sasha, you are an old soul, a good-hearted person, full of the realisms of life, both positive and negative. Both hurt and I get that. Please, don't think you can't be happy and not change your life because you can and you will!! I BELIEVE in you as do many others - now you need to!!
This is the first of your videos that has compelled me so strongly to actual comment, to write... something! Sasha is a beautiful soul. So insightful and she told her story with so much intelligence, self-reflection and vulnerability. Vulnerable but yet unimaginably strong to have gone through what she has and do the most selfless thing of all for her children, to give them opportunities that she couldn’t. I believe in her, though, and I wish her love and light in her journey to wellness and a life free of addiction, where she can be reunited with her daughter again. Good luck, Sasha! I know you can do it!
Sasha is an absolutely beautiful soul, with an incredible perspective. ❤️ Thank You for continuing to create these videos, Mark. Your work is so important.
Sasha, you’re smart, articulate, sound in so many areas, no clue what it takes to get off fentanyl but sure if you do, you’re going to have plenty of wonderful life to enjoy. Wish you the best, thank you for sharing your story.
Suboxone and then kratom worked for me, but some people need Methadone and that’s ok too. Some people do it without medication but the success rate is low…it’s a tough one to beat, but it can be done, with the right resources.
Sasha, it's never too late as long as you're breathing. You can do this. You can get clean & sober. You have years of beauty from the ashes to look forward to if you want them.. 💜🙏🌹
She’s got to get the right help, to have that, and it’s hard. But she’s definitely worth trying, and trying again. I found a good treatment program, the 5th time around. That was years ago, now! I know I never thought I’d get better. Now I believe anyone who still has their mind can get better, with the right help. Some people do it on their own and some go to treatment and/or programs. It’s all about finding what works for you and being honest with yourself about how it’s going. I don’t think I could have done it alone…I know that.
John 15:4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
Oh Sasha I am SO, SO SORRY that you had your daughter taken from you that way!!!! I know the exact pain of what you have gone through and hearing what happened to you had me bawling. Darling girl PLEASE fight to get clean again for your girl, I absolutely know you can do it. Please message me here if you want to get in contact with me and if I can be of any support to you!!! Your daughter is doing amazingly but she wants you in her life and with her so bad, you know that honey. Very happy that your Mum stepped up for your girl! Please let me know how to contact you! You are super smart and super strong sweet heart. I was very blown away by your story. This is one of my faves yet!
Sasha is frustrating to me. She has to change her life. She needs to take accountability. On the streets with her father? When times get tough, she folds. Her children suffer because of it. I feel for her children. A child born addicted to heroin. At what point will she change, at least for her children.
Sometimes with the addict interviews you can observe someone is on the lower end of the bell curve, so it's more understandable. But Sasha, you're smart, come one girl! You could die any day now of an overdose. Don't do that to yourself and your kids or the rest of the world with whom you have the opportunity to share your gift of insight.
I’m proud of you Sasha for allowing your family to give the help that is needed to your children. You have a huge heart to make that big decision for you babies to have a bright future. I’m glad you are off the street and have your own safe place for comfort. It will take time to adjust to your new surroundings take as much time as needed for your healing ❤️🩹 also I love how you express your feelings to brighten someone else’s day, please keep up the good works of saying thank you, have a good day, excuse me, hello the small things go a long way. This girl spoke so much truth it was heartbreaking and beautiful. She reminds me of something I heard years ago "when a person dies...a library is lost."
She is one of the kind, a beautiful soul. Wish and hope for you, Sasha, only the best of this world. The universe will show you the way back one of these days. Hugs and love for you, strong women.
Hey Sasha. I have your addiction. But I am on day 1,219 of my sobriety. You must get help. You can swear off drugs, but your addiction will follow you till your death. You had freewill before you tried using. But you don't now. Pls get help. Bless you.
I have watched a lot of these stories and Sasha has been one of my very favorites. She’s mesmerizing and hope she finds a life of long term recovery.❤️🙌
You really give these people a place to be seen again. Even just the time you take out of your life to listen to their stories is a meaningful thing! Using drugs helps people disassociate with their feelings of being hurt and at the same time it hinders them from being able to feel normal again if they ever do get clean. There are alot more success stories than people hear about, because most people who have gotten clean and changed their lives don't want to relive those days as freely as those you interview.
Mark you are appreciated and respected for your caring heart and always the most kindest words of sympathy and empathy. You have made a huge difference with all your videos. I have a much better understanding of why and how people do drugs and sell themselves. I have much more insight on it all. I used to judge but now I genuinely and honestly understand how real pain and hurt manifest itself. Everyone deserves love and respect regardless of how they live their life. We are all human beings with feelings and emotions. We all have grown up with different circumstances and home life positives and negatives. None of us has the ability to decide our parents and the types of homes and families we are born into. We have to deal with the hand we are dealt and do what to do in order to survive in the big scary world. We all can sometimes decide what road to take and to either go left or right. We all are just living and learning and making our own mistakes in life. Nobody ever said life would be easy without fear, frustration or uncertain confused thoughts. I wish I had a magic wand to make everything good and easy for everyone in the world. I wish I had the power to make pain and hurt to disappear. All we can do is help and pray for eachother. We all need help at one point or another in our lives. Nobody is better or more important than the other. We're all just trying to make it the best we can day to day. Acknowledge life and make peace with it and everyone intertwined in it

She’s got a lot to say, and I’m glad she found somewhere people will listen.
You read my mind.
Some of the most beautiful souls are the most damaged. I wish you peace and love Sasha ♥️
This world can be cruel. Praying for her as well
@@myeyeswentdeaf6213 so sorry for your loss. how beautiful the way you talk about her! i wish you the best of luck on your journey
Maybe it is my dose was moved up very gradually by my doctor-
MARK WE LOVE YOU KEEP SPREADING THESE PERSPECTIVES. We all can gain insight and understanding from your passion.
Agreed 💛
What a difficult childhood. I’m so sorry she’s gone through all of this. I’m praying for her healing and growth 💛
Way to go girl!! So proud of you!! Hope you are doing good!!
I looked up her daughters school tour and I wish her and her mother the very best in life
Holy crap, honored to have had Sasha share this small moment of my life! Seems like she's got such a warm heart, good luck with everything in the future

Out of all the stories this one was by far the most interest and powerful one! May god bless her
"Nobody deserves to be forgotten." Absolute truth.
The most loving and selfless thing this woman did was to give her kids to others when she was not able to give them what they need. Sasha ❤ i hope you forgive yourself like you've forgiven others

This is a wonderful thing you are doing, Mark. Everybody deserves to be "heard" and I'm sure no one has asked her h-e-r story. She is amazing and the way she loves her children is the way people should love their children. God bless.
If she truly loved her children she would get sober and provide a better life for them. You have to show love with actions not just words. I do wish her and her kids the best in life though
One of the best videos so far. Sasha is so wise and caring, she deserves so much more than the world has given her.
I hope one day we get to reconnect and start from where we left off. I’ve never forgotten about you I have often shared our adventures, trivials and triumphs . You were a true friend and we shared the same desire for camaraderie, spiritual freedom ,and a gift that aloud us to influence and inspire. I love you and will always be great full for you. And you make me proud . Besitos my love
Everyone makes mistakes, NO one is perfect💯
All the best to you Sasha❤️
No your right no one is perfect. But people like her are wastes of oxygen. Just sucking off decent folk!
That’s right! And addiction is not a character problem. It’s primarily a neurobiological problem, with psychological and social contributors. It’s nothing to be ashamed of! Everybody deserves nonjudgmental help to get better.
The mistake she has made is a huge mistake, most people can’t undo it.

She got this I heard other stories and this one got me tears on my eyes I been where she's at I an in recovery now 29 days clean and sober I believe in her she got this one day at a time I'll be praying for you Sasha ur a blessing
The way she speaks of her daughter and mother brings me to tears along with her. The love and respect she has for them. Sasha, you are more than half the women your mother is, your worth is beyond words and I truly believe if you put the work in you WILL achieve amazing things and have a beautiful relationship with your daughter and mother. Let your light shine in the darkness of this world, because girl, your light is so STRONG! 💪💕
That's right! Sasha has love and awareness, how much more can you ask for?
Of course most of these interviews are mind blowing, inspirational, and sometimes heartbreaking but what ALWAYS brings me to tears are the comments......NEVER have I seen so many beautiful souls in one place with so much unconditional love and compassion for fellow man.........MUCH love to you ALL
I agree! I always get emotional reading the comments and it always makes me think that we do have so many beautiful, kind people on this earth and I can’t help but smile and appreciate everything and everyone in my life ❤️
Aww it was nice to see her light up talking about her daughter. Hope you can all reunite in the future!
Why would her daughter want that?
Your mom is always your mom….children have a great capacity for forgiveness. I also hope the best for them all.
Please! These people won’t give up anything to be with their kids. Don’t fall for it.

I actually could have listened to her for ever.
Classic example of judging a book by its cover, she was wonderful
"Maybe sometimes you get to a point in your life where you just go so high up that there is nowhere else to go but down." Wow
She is a very intelligent and insightful woman. I hope she gets better.
I love Sasha. Not that it matters but wow is she Incredibly likable and intelligent. Very few people here spend this amount of time speaking/thinking about their child/children loved ones and others around them. Really enjoyed listening to you. So much Love to you Sasha. Keep spreading love and compassion ❤️ I look forward to seeing you here again 🙏🏽
Imagine being in the streets with nobody. Then, get in youtube and have over 600 people loving the shit out of you. I hope she sees this. So many people want her to win
Despite the horrors she has experienced she is an extremely insightful woman who deserves so much more. Blessings to her. Given the right chances in life she could do much for humanity and wake up so many people. Kx
She’s right. A lot of people just have no compassion. As long as it’s bad for you & not for me! Wishing you the best of luck, Sasha. I know your Dad would be so very proud of you. ❤️
She is a beautiful person with a beautiful heart! I'm praying that she gets away from that kind of life.
Of course, there are always going to be people who have to learn the hard way, but I believe there’s more hope than people may think!
most addicts are intelligent and articulate
addiction is a form of illness not a IQ score
@KIWIFOGBOOM
Articulate?

Man got me crying over here. Wishing you and your family nothing but good things Sasha.💜

Sasha come on girl, you’re so smart and full of feelings. Easier said than done I’m sure but try to get clean and soar!
She is amazing. I’m rooting for her. And then mentioning Chris Cornell… ugh she’s left a mark in heart 🙏🏼
Amazing Mark!!! She is so raw, grateful and honest! Great speaker!
The wisdom and insight that Sasha has is astounding. Thank you for sharing.
This woman is very intelligent and understands what many will never understand. Such a beautiful soul.
Thank You for continuing to create these videos, Mark. Your work is so important.
What a beauiful, smart and compassionate soul you are Sasha. I see you, I hear you ❤
Sasha, you’re smart, articulate, sound in so many areas, no clue what it takes to get off fentanyl but sure if you do, you’re going to have plenty of wonderful life to enjoy. Wish you the best, thank you for sharing your story.
Suboxone and then kratom worked for me, but some people need Methadone and that’s ok too. Some people do it without medication but the success rate is low…it’s a tough one to beat, but it can be done, with the right resources.
@@brittaolson6550 do those drugs work well if you have a legit medical problem, like cancer?

You, Sasha are simply amazing! This was one of my favorite interviews.
Sasha is frustrating to me. She has to change her life. She needs to take accountability. On the streets with her father? When times get tough, she folds. Her children suffer because of it. I feel for her children. A child born addicted to heroin. At what point will she change, at least for her children.
What a wonderful interview. Thank you
