He’s right. Mizzou trailing BC is much more embarrassing than Oregon trailing Boise or Penn Sate trailing Bowling Green.
@@srth7140 your father wasn't right to not pull out
@@SirSmokesAlot-r8k He's being sarcastic.
Sarcasm or not, nothing that has happened this year is more embarrassing than Penn state trailing BG.
@@cooperfontenot1100I feel like actually losing to NIU is more embarrassing than being down at half and totally shutting down Bowling Green after the half.
@@Hockeywizard5577 you know what, you're 100 percent right, I forgot about that game.
As a kid from Nebraska…went to ISU for college…seeing all 3 “local”schools in the top 25 is so much fun imo. It’s the first time in a LONG time that I can remember having both Iowa schools ranked at the same time as the Huskers.
Oregon at 5 seams super reasonable. #3 didn’t feel correct, #9 also didn’t feel correct. We will see what the season holds!
#1 seems the best spot for Oregon. You will see
@@dwurgy. I’m an Oregon fan man. We might be really good but top 3 teams are killin it right now. We’ll know when we play Ohio state in a couple weeks.
@@Riiiley I was literally going to say this. 9 did actually feel right before last weekend. A bump seemed warranted after that beat down. But the Buckeye game, in Eugene, that's going to pretty much answer all questions. I think anything other than getting blown out should leave Oregon at least at 5.
Texas is 1 because they played better competition and handled them and then played scrubs and dominated them.
basically yes
That Xichigan game won't look as impressive after USC demolishes them Saturday. Thank God for the 12 team playoff
@@melo7969 agreed
@@melo7969right like Michigan is probably gonna end up with the same record as Kentucky-6-6 or 7-5
Texas has had all cupcake teams so far despite 1 being ranked cut it out. Charmin soft. Texas is only #1 because Georgia “struggled” with an unranked team for all intents and purposes even though it was conference play. SEC play can go either way on any given Saturday.
@JoshPateCFB, on that last graphic showing the top ten, it would be cool to see how much the scoring gaps would be from the number one team down. To top it off show how close or fair any particular team is. Similar to how the AP and Coaches poll put overall vote next to the teams for there “Ranking”.
Sco Ducks!
Most of this show is Josh explaining to people what the JP poll isn’t.
He says the same thing every single time. I really hate this guys voice and persona. He has good info but that’s it.
@@willjones8646you dont have to watch
It isn't correct or reliably predictive
That's for damn sure
He has to explain it because some of it defies the results you see on the field.
@echt114 If the Model defies the actual results on the Field then the Model is clearly incorrect.
Just like Josh Pate's bs takes.
We need to adjust our evaluation of conferences based on the results on the field. The big 12 hasn't done enough to be better than any other conference.
Billy Napier will be fired Sunday morning if they lose to UCF in the Swamp. KJ Jefferson has done it before and will be looking to do it again. Not many people are talking about how small the gap is right now between these teams
"Michigan has bottomed out" - wait until they play USC.
Yea usc will destroy them
Gonna be an unpopular opinion, but I think ND is in the right spot here. Obviously the NIU loss is ridiculous and unacceptable for them, but I think that they just showed that it was a fluke caused by their own shitty mentality rather than how good the team actually is. I don’t see them taking anyone else lightly the rest of the year. But time will tell
I'm not a ND fan... but no one in thier right mind would think that NIU is better than them. It was a fluke and if the win out that loss won't be remembered as much. ND is one those weird teams that would go toe to toe with any of those top 5 teams... but then go toe to toe with Virginia lol.
@@JSum81 yup, pretty spot on lol
@@JSum81it was no fluke … and ND has a WEAK ASS schedule…they would get stomped by anyone in the top 5
WHAT!!!! an ND fan making excuses and not accepting the reality that ND is ALWAYS overrated. That can not be right. That never happens.
@@JSum81 ND can not go toe to toe with the top 5. That is a huge joke. Every time they are ask to prove they are in class, they get SMOKED!!! Just check their results from the last 30 YEARS of major bowl games. 0 - 10 average score 37 -17. ND is overrated and always will be.
As a Clemson fan, this poll makes me nervous.
Hah, honestly I think it's spot on, I think Georgia really is that much better than a lot of people when they're firing on all cylinders. Nothing can explain the road Kentucky struggles they have, but it's happened the last three times they faced them on the road, so I think it's anomalous. Clemson is not a bad team, and if they played Georgia again later in the year I think it'd be much more of a game. All Klubnik needed to do was score a single touchdown to help out. That game would have had such a different tenor if that had happened on their first drive in the second half.
Is the Texas win against Michigan that big now? Is Michigan any better than Wisconsin? I think Texas is a very good team. However, i wouldn't put to much stick in their win over Michigan.
They are decidedly better than Wisconsin and their second string QB. If TVD was in, and playing the top end of his game, and not the turnover happy bottom end, maybe that win looks better. You might be right about that game being overblown, I just don't think Wisconsin is the right example.
Josh, just give us the visual of each team’s rating number. It would make a lot more sense and you would have to explain less.
Poor Josh, you explain how it works every video and you'll still have people in the comments commenting as if it's a ranking haha
Maybe get rid of the with poll. Most are arguing their team should be power rated higher and aren’t making resume argument
"if tennessee was 25 we would have a conversation" 😂😂😂
Iowa State's schedule potentially sets up well for them going into the last couple of games (@ Utah, Kansas State), not exactly a trip through the tulips and certainly not Miami Hurricane level on the surface easy but there's a real shot to be 10-0 (or 7-3) rolling into Salt Lake City.
Earliest ive even been to a vid drop
I think you actually nailed this!
I like you Josh but you did not have Louisville in your top 25 since the beginning like you said lol. I’ve been watching these since preseason
This is the best poll. And the worst poll is Mark Rogers.
Texas win over Michigan was not that big a deal it seams
Watch out for Dabo
Correct rankings
Texas/GA interchangeable imo
OSU
Ole Miss
Bama
Oregon doesn't rewrite 2 weeks of beating bad teams closely by beating up on a mid Oregon state team that lost all their best players last year (starting qb, backup qb, starting rb and the list goes on)
Should've put air quotes around LSU "winning" last Saturday
I think more disappointing than Mizzou being ranked so high, is how summarily BC was dropped out of the big boi polls after a close loss. When people ask me to pretend there isn't an SEC bias out there I just angrily point at polls that look like this week's AP and Coaches poll. Mizzou is still ranked ahead of USC despite the fact that USC had a close win against what they themselves even consider the 16th best team in the nation. Go ahead and tell me there's no bias when LSU is ranked and BC isn't, but somehow the team that beat the ranked one is currently ranked lower.
These ratings are a bit better, giving USC a razor thin nod. And sorry I know I'm doing comparisons between a power rating and a poll, but how insane are coaches right now having Miami outside of the top 10. It's like they're just not bothering to watch football before ranking teams playing football. By every imaginable metric Miami is playing top 10 ball right now. ESPN's SP+ has them at 9th despite factoring in historical performance more than the other calculations, FPI has them at 8th overall (1st in offensive efficiency, and 13th in defensive efficiency one of only 4 teams in the top 15 in both, the other three teams are in the top 10 in both), PFF grades them out as the 2nd best offense and defense, and the coaches look at that team and say "Yeah they're 11th."
This guy’s arrogance is nauseating
wdym how so
A two point lead might as well be 50 with UGA’s offense
Please give me Miami and Oregon in the playoff to expose Lanning trenches
With a healthy Cam Rising, I'd pick Utah over a few teams above them -- 12ish.
@JoshPate, I'm anxious to see what the model thinks of the GA @ Bama game next week! 2 vs 4, @ 4s home, I'm guessing the model is basically a pick'em. Your take?!
If you get points, take Bama. Bama is the only team that keeps beating Georgia. True, Saban is no longer there, but it’s still Bama. And, I’ll take Bama at home straight up against anyone.
"Where's Colorado?" -Colorado Fans 🤣
How does a team drop in the poles when they won. If you want to move up then beat me this does'nt make since at all
Dirty little secret about modeling anything that the average American doesn't understand; they are easily manipulated based on the info they are fed.
...majority of games so far have been powder puff games....the real season starts soon and then rank'em.
Josh HOW did Iowa State become Americas team ?😂
So Georgia got the best win so far in cfb

How the fuck is Notre dame ahead of OU make that make sense
Millions of Catholics like my mom who basically hates football will watch ND.
I agree, but OU hasn't played anyone yet so the model probably doesn't know where to put you. Beat Tennessee this week and the JP poll will rightfully jump you guys up.
Notre Dame beat Texas A&M at College Station. The Aggies are a ranked team with the needle pointing up after they dismantled Florida. That win is valued more than wins against Tulane or Temple. ND also annihilated Purdue last Saturday; Purdue is a poor team but the Irish did what ranked teams are supposed to do. Yes, they suffered an ugly, unforgivable loss but it's possible the JP poll accounts for flukes like this with an assessment of team statistics since it's supposed to be a neutral field ranking. ND's defense is pretty efficient and they have some playmakers at RB which probably explains where they ended up.
We actually are #7 in ESPN fpi so we are actually underrated according to some. Winning by 4 against Houston and struggling against Tulane will hurt you.
Since this JP poll is supposed to be based on the odds of which team would win on a neutral field, I actually think ND is rated too low. They would beat 3-4 teams above them - maybe even more - if they played up to their capabilities like they did last week.
@@Necile2 Eh, maybe but I doubt it. Notre Dame is not a good team (Note: I'm an ND fan). You simply cannot call a team "good" that loses to a MAC directional school. Period. I don't care how inspired NIU played or how great their staff prepared...Notre Dame had a talent edge that should have kicked their asses all over the field and instead they got absolutely humiliated in their own stadium. The A&M win may have been fools gold but we'll have to see.
I'd agree with Josh that the model has over-ranked them.
This just points out to me how pathetic Kentucky football is that they can lose at home to the number one ranked team, and the takeaway result is the winning team drops in rank. That’s some really deep football 💩 there, that is.
Why is Notre dame 13 give me a break
Ya the ESPN fpi has Notre dame as 7

How much $ did you lose on the Peach Bowl ?😅
Funny how your ending comments about how we should stay open to having more than just the B12 champ on the playoffs came with a top 10 graphic up behind you.... which featured precisely zero B12 schools.
That’s likely because the teams that will make the CFP don’t HAVE to be in the top 12. The XII Champs could have multiple losses and be like number 22 or something like that and they’d still be in the CFP because of the conference championship…
RTR
@skipgumphrey9579 Of course, but how does the SECOND B12 team get in should we reach that point with a top 10 like that? THAT'S the kicker! There IS a path, but it's highly unlikely, and I found the top ten an odd graphic to accompany this particular argument.
Oregon ducks 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂o stands for ZERO NATIONAL championship z😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 , they beat a ROOOOOOKIE Oregon St team😂😂😂😂 they will get exposed
A big12 contender should have lost to Arkansas. Doesn’t give me much hope for them to have 2 teams
I use to be a fan of Josh Pate but he is a blue blood shill and will say anything to get clicks.
I don’t know if he actually believes or is saying it for clicks but Florida is not one of the best jobs in college football lol. Outside of two coaches they have been irrelevant. Florida doesn’t have a history of being a blue blood and has been irrelevant the past decade. If being in or near a talent rich area makes a school a great job then what about all the schools in talent rich states that suck? Lane Kiffin would not run to Florida if they offered it to him. Also people like Josh are living in the past. Ole Miss with NIL is just as good as good of a job as Florida. Ole Miss has one of the best NIL collectives in the country, has great facilities and Mississippi has plenty of in state talent to recruit from. Kiffin has proven he can bring in plenty of talent to Oxford and is the king there. Plus he actually likes/loves living in Oxford but who wouldn’t lol. Florida has been a dumpster fire for years now and their NIL collective is being sued because they can’t pay their players.
Zero worlds out there where LSU is losing to Kansas St
I'm an LSU fan (for 50+ years), but the way the Tigers are playing so far, I'd say KSU might take them 3 times out of 10. If they ever get some things straightened out, I'd be happy to reevaluate those odds, but until they do....
USC at 10 🤣
I like Miller Moss against any QB in the Big Ten
How does Oregon jump that much when they beat a shit team? This is what we expected over an FCS team and BSU.
Phil Knight, obviously
Dude didn’t listen to a work Josh just said😂😂😂
@gavinboggs5787 Didn't listen to a "work"?
I know what Pate says. I just don't know how the books say Unike is worth that jump. They have struggled until OSU. A shit UCLA team is next. The only important game is tOSU. Oregon is weak, but one game played well, and they are now darlings in Vegas.

My portfolio is rounding up to almost a million and I have realized that when a stock makes it to the news, chances are you're quite late to the party, the idea is to get in early on blue chips before it becomes public. You can make a lot of money from the market regardless of whether it strengthens or crashes. The key is to be well positioned.
