This park has needed a wooden coaster for many years (Planned one in 2006) So i hope they get something like that next, This park is definitely on the rise!
a GCI would be so good here- i feel like that’s the aggression the park needs- as sik is the most aggressive ride there, and that’s mostly just the corkscrews and the other inversions- gravity groups have strong air and can be aggressive like the family ones especially but gci is usually moreso
I’ve always loved all of the vlogs you put out coaster studios especially your European and Australian vlog and I just want to say keep up the great work! I have your Coastin through Europe poster and this is how we roll! I live for your channel just keep up the amazing work!
If you're talkin about Dino Roller, I chilled out with him on my recent visit to Flamingo Land! He was in fact my 49th cred - and Hero was my 50th, because why the hell not?
"Sik Silk is a popular clothing brand here in the UK"..... Nope! 99% of people had never heard of them before this ride opened XD Flamingo Land is a fun park but it does have some super janky rides!! It's all part of the charm though.
@@jakob8646 I'm gonna say too old. I'm 37 and had legit never heard of them and neither had anyone I'd spoken with at the time. it's usually pretty hard to avoid seeing trends even if they aren't for me though. Ah well the coaster's awesome regardless of sponser haha
"Sik" was originally supposed to be built at a park in Brazil called "Hopi Hari", where it sat in storage from 2012 to 2017. Then it was sold a park in Malaysia called "Movie Animation Park Studios " which also never got built, until "Flamingoland" purchased the ride in 2020, which the contruction caused a lot of delays due to the pandemic until it finally opened in July 2, 2022.
Those rolls at the end of Sik are crazy with the lapbars, the hangtime on them is insane. It's a really nice pacey coaster, the difference between it and Colossus is night and day.
Last time I was here they had Magnum Force (which then moved to Mexico as Quimera, and now All American Triple Loop at Indiana Beach), and the Bullet, which also moved to Mexico somewhere. Velocity had only just opened too!
The advice for riding an SLC is something I have known for sometime now and it really helps prevent head banging on those bulky restraints. Especially for shorter people, try it the next time you ride one. Nice vlog in the series keep them coming.
And so, the UK leg comes to an end. Thanks for taking us on the journey so far, it's been really cool to see your take on our local parks! Looks like you had a reasonable day at Flamingo Land, and glad you appreciated Sik. Definitely the stand-out there. Honestly, I don't think the custom SLC (Kumali) runs anywhere near as bad as most of the standard models. I rode it a couple of times towards the middle of the train, and barely got any jolts through the inversions. Don't get me wrong, it's no B&M invert, but worth a try. Hero on the other hand is probably the worst coaster I've ever done.
The most underrated park in the UK. Has a nice lineup of coasters and flats. Needs a little bit of sprucing up though, areas are looking dated for sure
Operations and ride availability let it down though. Just imagine if it had some proper investment on things like theming, staff, and infrastructure like benches and a bit of shade in the park.
Your mispronunciation of Edinburgh 🤣🤣🤣, I visited Flamingoland quite a while back now well before Sik and a few years before mumbo jumbo. I remember kumali being pretty good back then but no doubt it has aged abit since then. Need head back to ride Sik at least.
I’m so glad you made it to Scotland. If your ever here again, I’d love to show you around ❤ I work in Edinburgh and live beside the kelpies and Falkirk wheel ❤
as a brazillian i'm still very grieving about hopi hari's 10i leaving us before it was built and ending up in the uk. if i ever visit this park i will leave with several suitcases that definitely do not contain every part of sik!
I had to chortle at your 'no shade anywhere' comment... trust me.. in the UK the days you need shade like that can be counted on one hand over a decade!!!.. more is the point.. is there anywhere to get out of the rain!😂
Agree so much about the end of Sik. You can hear my pain from our POVs. Speaking of which none of those from you? You just have to go to park security to get your equipment signed off.
I absolutely loved Flamingo Land when I visited last year (even before Sik was open), and trying to go again next year. Kumali was (and has been almost every year) glass smooth, which I nearly prefer over Nemesis, Velocity was running faster (so much so that I preferred it over Leviathan in Canada), Mumbo Jumbo was also faster, but also smoother (there are 1 or 2 trains that are rougher than the others). I much prefer this park to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and had a better day than at Alton Towers, so am excited to visit again soon. Random fun fact: Hyperion fits exactly along the lake by Kumali's cobra roll, that would be a nice new standout wouldn't it?
The fact that both the custom slcs are here in the uk and qe have 3 of them total really shows how quite bad coasters are over here compared to the states
I've been on an Enterprise that used the Volare style cages and that flar ride was a lot of fun. It used to be ay Bobbejaanland in Belgium but the ride is gone now. Doing just vertical loops was no issue so it really is the turns Volare struggles with. And sadly it's nothing but turns.
Siksilk is a clothing brand.. but I wouldn't say it's a popular brand. Most people have only ever heard of it because of the ride, which I guess means it was a good bit of sponsorship!
@@MylesHSG Yes Odyssey is a complete custom layout, it's the largest SLC featuring a massive Vertical Loop and Cobra Roll leading into a Banana Roll after that it leads into a sidewinder than helix, then final inversion a Corkscrew and into the brakerun
