    The spot in Elden Ring when changing the game profiles isn't a bug. It's increasing the luminance of colors. Because it's in a dark area it's harder to see the colors that are in there on standard, and when you switch to the other profiles it's just making the colors brighter.

    You are so right about HGiG. Some games looking fantastic in HGiG but many of them are just too dark (dull) . The C2 (as well my CX) is just not bright enough to display HGiG as it should be. DTM ON is a compromise with very big disadvantages as well.

    • @TechWithKG
      @TechWithKG  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, it’s unfortunate because They revamped DTM for movie mode on the C2 but only while AI picture pro is on & that won’t work in game mode of course so we’re still having to deal with DTM’s downsides of how it was in previous LG OLEDs still better than nothing for some games though like you mentioned.

    I had the C1 and it was fantastic. But I ended up exchanging it for the Samsung qn800b from this year. And it is amazing to be honest. I like the super bright highlights. Specially for gaming. I have tried both lcd and oled and I keep coming back to lcd due to how good it makes gaming look

    • @tears2040
      @tears2040 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Led like the Samsung have very poor viewing angles which washes out colors and contrast. Also it lacks depth compared to even the oldest Oled.
      Yes you get very punchy colors and high brightness, but it’s actually blown out and not accurate at all.

      @@tears2040 if you watch some of KGs videos you will see that’s not the case. Maybe back then. The new Samsung has excellent viewing angles and the colors are super deep and the blacks aren’t crushed. Color volume is fantastic! I’ve had both and I love both. But the new LED tvs are not like that. Back then sure. Both OLEDs and LEDs had their issues.

Either way like I said before I’ve always owned both technologies so I feel I can be sure of what I prefer. Those bright colorful new LEDs really are something incredible. They are so close to oled there is barely any difference anymore. And I do prefer that for gaming more. Again, both are great. And it’s a preference thing. I happen to like brighter colors and deep blacks although not perfect I can’t even tell anymore. :)

  • @sawdust8691
    @sawdust8691 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm interested in the LG C2.
    I primarily game on my TV. And it seems that the LG OLEDs are king for that.
    I do have some inhibitions though.
    The TV I now have is a Sony X900H. Which is a very good TV. It's got 4K at 120fps, VRR, local dimming, low input lag, and looks great 90% of the time.
    I've had it for only 2 years. It's still pretty new.
    But I just have some nitpicks that bug me. For instance, when using VRR, the TV disables it's Local Dimming. Which looks like absolute trash. So I don't use VRR even when a game would greatly benefit.
    And it has a slight blurring issue when receiving a 4K 120hertz signal. Barely noticeable, but it's there. Same when using VRR. It's almost like there is some strange barely perceivable after image blurring.
    And it only has 32 dimming zones. So in dark scenes in a dark room, the blooming can be very noticeable. And its brightness acually doesn't even exceed the brightness of these OLEDs. And it's plenty bright for me. Though the OLED would probably be dimmer in bright scenes.
    I'm just not fully satisfied with it. So I'm considering the C2 now that it's at its cheapest price.
    I'm just not sure if the upgrade would be worth it. And I'm still a little put off by the risk of OLED burn in. Just can't decide.

      I just got the C1 - It's lived up to my expectations. The biggest thing I'd say, now that I went through the decision process and came out the other side a month later, is brightness. The C1 and C2 are bright enough, but the room brightness will determine if it looks bright enough to you. Without curtains on windows in the room, it will not feel bright enough. If you can limit the light a bit in the room, it'll be incredible for you. And gaming is just incredible - going from a 4k Samsung TV at 60hz to this OLED at 120hz is really clean - and of course HDR is stunning!

      S95B for sure, the upscaling and brightness on the Nintendo Switch is amazing. Nintendo Switch is poor on the LGs sadly like all SDR gaming, LG really needs to address this it’s been an issue.

    Burn-in and image retention are and will always remain the biggest weaknesses of OLED for me. I'm ready to put up with all the other limitations of OLED but the fact that some people have already got burn in on their CXs and even C1s puts me off from buying one. I'd rather pay a higher price for a high-end Mini-LED like the QN90B which actually has inferior picture quality in many ways to get a TV that will last me 10 years.

      It’s great for movies of course. For the most part it’s roughly the same as the C1 unless your using the DTM toggle which I usually switch off because it lifts areas in movies and you kind of lose depth I’ve always enjoyed the LG OLED TVs for movies, although I like Sony better for movies if that’s your main focus because their image processing are really great for that use case.
