K, i'm a late bloomer on The Mentalist (binge-watching it for the first time April 2020) and I love Simon Baker! I've seen him a bit in the past in a couple of things but I absolutely love him in this show. Also, his American accent - impeccable. He really makes a believable character.
I only recently discovered the series as well and binge-watched the entire show this August!
I discovered the mentalist 1 month ago, and i really loved it
I also binge watched it. Just finished it 2 weeks ago. And bought the last season. He's a handsome man. 😁

My husband has the same skill his wife has: when I was starting my own business I got lost in the worry of potential failure. He said "So what if you fail. We'll eat up all the spices you have left and drink all the tea. We won't lose anything." Such a wonderful man that knows exactly what to say and when to say it.

Okay.. first I’m blown by his natural accent. He does an American accent sooooo well. Had no clue. And I totally agree with the NOT celebrating the anniversary. It puts a lot of focus on that one day, when everyday with your mate should be celebrated.
Funny I thought he was a British actor didn't he play in a Guardian series that lasted one season in Britian where he was a body guard for the female MP.?

Me and my husband don't celebrate our anniversary..or Christmas...or birthdays. Why? We celebrate everyday like it's the last one we'll have together and we buy the stuff the other would want when they want it, not for some far away day. We couldn't kick it up a notch for our anniversary if we tried. Some people put the importance in the present given on such a day and forget about the fact that everyday should feel like an anniversary. I know that I'm the luckiest person alive, because of my husband. He feels the same way.

I like Simon Baker although he seems a bit cold and non-romantic about anniversaries. But he’s obviously doing something right or he’s with the right person to have lasted twenty years which is considered a record these days.
Ty, yes & no. Some of us married people regard each day as equally important, equally worthy of joy or celebration. My wife & I have been married 52 years and 3 couples/long time friends have been married longer.
Anniversaries are an american thing mostly and to be honest not a very romantic thing, it is like doing something because of a contract, business like and demanding. Being spontaneous and the little things you do every day is a lot more important.
Its too bad that now they are separated!
