He was extremely good in that role, I watched it over and over again. The whole story was very original. Now you can see others using the idea in other movies, but it doesn't work well, because of it was S. Baker personality and his talent, what made it so special. I hope he is going to be in good health for long long time and plays a lot, but I am certain no more Mentalist, it was so uniqe, like no one can play Lucifer the same way as Tom Ellis does. Without him, the whole film series would be a big nothing.
He’s one of the few actors I think it’s extremely handsome! And he has a sweet personality so that’s just more to the pot. I’m watching the Mentalist again right now and i think he’s highly underrated and needs to be in more movies.:)

There are many good actors in the business. But in my 80 years, I have never seen an actor actually become the character as he did as Patrick Jane. The Mentalist is the best series that was ever on television, bar none.
One of my absolute favourite actors. I first encountered him in The Guardian. He was excellent in Margin Call but The Mentalist is where I became hooked. One of the handful of series that is worth watching and re watching. The ending to it was too good; overall from start to finish an excellent package. They don't make shows like them anymore.

I'm in agreement with Simon. I used to tell my our son that being a father is the best "job" in the world. That was when he was a kid. Now, he's a middle aged father with 2 boys and he understands and agrees.

Simon Baker really has his head on straight. A happy, strong, healthy family is the most important. I have never had that. It would be worth it to me to give up everything I have, to have that family. When you have a loving, strong, happy, family, you have everything.

Well done for just brushing over his best ever role as Jeff in Smith with Ray Liotta. That brilliantly written, directed, acted and filmed show got cut after only 7 episodes - because it depicted so-called ‘bad guys’ being smart and winning. And we all know that the purpose of every crime movie and cop show on the Tell Lie Vision is to train the masses to respect law enforcers, never ask for a lawyer, and confess to ‘heroes’ in blue. Patrick Jane was indeed a very interesting character, but Jeff was far more believable. Both are very different from the shy Australian playing them, but his depiction of a feckless surfer with an impulsive and occasionally violent nature as Jeff in Smith is right up there with the best work done by McQueen and Pacino. Thank you for sharing this. It’s odd that despite being a huge admirer of Simon Baker for years, I’ve only just found it.

I loved each and every one. I had the great pleasure of recently re-watching the entire series on Hulu.

It just goes to show that it doesn't matter where you come from if you have the drive, tenacity and self belief you can do anything you want to do. Being famous doesn't matter, that's just a facade, putting everything into your art whether its writing, acting, painting etc and putting it out into the world for others to share does matter and simon Baker is proof of that.
