Great job, really coming along. I make most of my miniature furniture out of mat board. I also use acrylic paint instead of wood stain, I mix the paint with mat Mod Podge so I don’t have to seal it.
I like that you implied that the hole in the wall was punched out by Fester to make a window it's all misshapen I love it I loved everything about this video you did a great job I wish I could make something this freaking cool

I love Festers room. So brave of you to take to the roof with a knife. I held my breath watching you do it, your heart must have been in your throat as you actually did it. The risk paid off though, it's a fabulous touch that has the added bonus of allowing some more light in. You and Julie Warren are my 2 favorite miniaturists. Your styles are at opposite ends of the spectrum and that allows me so much variety in my own projects.
You ain't kidding about balsa! It was the first "wood" I worked with and disliked it very much, especially when cutting against the grain. It doesn't take staining very well and I agree that you need to practice when using acrylics, color pastels, etc. I stopped using it and went right into Bass/hardwood, cherry, oak, etc. You can get away with plenty in the Adams mansion...Nothing has perfect angles. Love it. Isn't it wonderful to go shopping from the wall? Mine was a basket. Marvelous work, Ara! BTW, I used your POB. Much love to all.
There are some miniaturists that swear by balsa and use it for everything and I feel like everything is so fragile! Scares me... I need all my stuff to be strong and over glued lol!! Mostly because I drop everything at least once. Thank you and I will keep a look out ;)

Thank you Duanne! I don't have a video that explains that but I can try in the comment here. Balsa wood is a very light weight wood that often feels more like foam than actual wood. It can be easy to cut but it can also break easily if you are not careful. Basswood is a little more like pinewood. It's tougher to cut but also holds its shape and has more strength than Balsa. If I am going to make something that has moving parts or will be handled a lot I will use Basswood. If its going to be attached to the wall or left alone for the most part I feel ok using balsa. I hope that helps!

Hello! I follow a British Miniaturing TH-camr who uses Obeche wood for her constructions. I don't know if you can find it where you live, but it seems to be a better option. She built a 1:12 scale shack with it. In my country, the only option we have is Balsa wood or MDF (which is too hard to cut).

I think they have a show and may have a page listing other miniature shows around the USA. We have one coiming up in Dallas in June but its the only one I have ever been to.

I also found in the same antique shop this tiny pewter wizard like castle 🏰 & at the top is a round crystal I want that for my secret library. Can’t wait to start decorating it. Thank you so much for your kind words! I have known some people to pull up the tutorials and trace them onto paper off of their ipad screen. Not sure if that would work for you and def don't do anything that might scratch your ipad. That's just one suggestion I have heard from people recently ;)
Quite an enjoyable "episode"! But I do have to mention one "something" - I'm glad you explained the black marks on your nails. I find a high gloss "French" manicure distracting enough when the hands are featured so closely, but the addition of the miniature Tardis and Dalek (while I LOVE them) made things just a bit more distracting. On the other hand, I'm just an old guy with too much time on his hands, so maybe I am just in a fault finding mood this morning.................. Thanks for another musing and creative video!

I love french tip nails so will get them occasionally but its great for me to keep in mind what works on camera too! I appreciate the feedback ;)
