    When I saw the picture of Lurch show up on my notifications, I knew it was going to be another great tutorial! Loved your "terminology " the crotchial area...etc...lol!!
    Lurch turned out fantastic! His face especially looks identical to Cassidy's face. The dark cheek hollows and sunken eyes...wow!! When you even put his mole on...well...perfection! When you "wigged" his head...while the hair was still long, for awhile he looked like the butler from the Rocky Horror movie...😁
    This was such fun! But now I have an idea on how to make a pattern for my dolls. Keep up the great work!!! 👍😁😊💖👌

      Thank you and I am so glad it was helpful in some way ;) I was thinking the same thing with his crazy in between wigging looks lol! And yes... I am sure "crotchial" will now be a term used by clothes makers everywhere hahaha!

    I still love your attention to detail. It's the little touches that get me. And gluing the fabric together makes sense. I sew, but trying to sew doll clothes is a major headache. Beautiful job, as usual.

    I sew both for people and for Barbies, and you're pretty much on point with the patterning and assembly. Sleeves are always a pain in the neck, haha. Learning how to alter clothing and patterns is pretty easy once you have a few basics down. I think it'd come super easy to you, going off how well you did with this!

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the encouragement! I was so scared of the sleeves so how they came out were ok with me.... they were in the right spot and his arms fit lol!! That was my only criteria! I feel like after doing Lurch I am better equipped to do Gomez who I want to get spot on! Thanks so much!!

    • @BrokenMonocle
      @BrokenMonocle 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BentleyHouseMinis For the ones you want perfect, you can basically do what you did with the pants. Make a set of test clothes out of scrap, then modify it on the good fabric to avoid things like short pants or the gap in the back of Lurch's jacket. If you want to get super fancy with it, you can also either hem all the raw edges or do a facing, so they're more neat and less likely to fray over time. In my experience, facings are easier on curved seams, but they add more bulk, so idk how it'll work in 1:12.
      Good luck!

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting... I will have to look up what a facing is and see how that works ;) Thanks!

    • @BrokenMonocle
      @BrokenMonocle 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      A facing is that little flap that you sometimes find in the back of shirts. You cut a second piece with the same hemline, but only wide enough to turn it right-side out and press like you would a seam. There's definitely better explanations on TH-cam!

    While cutting out the fabric leave a little extra fabric where you are going to glue, this is called a seam allowance and means that after it’s glued it should fit the doll properly instead of being too small because to me it looked like you were using the top of the pattern to glue the pieces together. With clothes (especially doll ones) it’s always better to have it too big rather than too small as you can always cut away and adjust something that’s too big. Other than that he looks great and the wig is really good, I can never paint small enough to do faces like that

    Lurch is looking very good and I love the way you did his hair. I hope I can give you an idea for the clothes. When you make a jacket, you don't need to do the white blouse (I forget the english word) It makes the doll bigger and specially for a woman like Morticia, you don't want that. You only make what you see, his collar or on the bottom of the jacket. I always glue my dolls clothes. it works very well. The sleeves I glue when the front and back are on the body, because you can move the sleeve or cut it in shape before glueing. And when you cut the collar on biais , it is more easy to glue it around the neck (???In Dutch it called the hals or nek, sorry English is not my first language) Good luck and I'am waiting for the other family members.

    I have become quite a big fan of your work on your ADDAMS FAMILY project! The final results are FANTASTIC! I'm guessing that COUSIN ITT maybe the easiest of all the ADDAMS FAMILY characters to make. Just guessing. I'm currently collecting as much materials together to recreate, to screen accuracy, "one" of the electric train layouts that was used in the classic 1964- 1966 series. The first one in season 1 was a Lionel dealership layout. And it's the most expensive version to make. The one in season 2 is much more "cost effective" to replicate. And yes, I'm using as much original Lionel products of that time period as possible. And that's where it gets somewhat costly. But I believe that it will be worth it. The Addams Family & The Munsters are two of my ALL TIME FAVOURITE shows! So any project for either show is worth all of the expense & effort! I'm looking forward to your next video of your ADDAMS FAMILY project! Your work is BRILLIANT!

      Thank you so much!! WOW that sounds awesome! Do you share your work anywhere online? I would love to see what you put together! I made a small train table for Gomez but its not accurate at all... I may have to remake it to get in enough of the details!

    • @punkrockpub
      @punkrockpub 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I "think" you can pm me here on TH-cam. If so, I can forward you some of the images that I have from the classic series train layout prop(s). There were 2 layouts used in the 1964 to 1966 series. The first one used in season 1 was the very same layout used in the classic series THE TWILIGHT ZONE, episode NIGHT OF THE MEEK, starring Art Carrney. First aired in 1960.
      If you wish, check out the videos, here on TH-cam, ADDAMS FAMILY TRAIN WRECK SCENES. There are 2 of those videos available. Don't use the one from the 1991 film! That's totally different. Also, there's a video of a guy whom duplicated the 1964-65 layout to studio perfection! He also sells the blueprint/plans for it on eBay for $70.00. Which includes the S&H. I'm thinking of buying it, although the first layout can be somewhat pricey. But, I would like to have the blueprints for a potential future project.
      The other video is the TWILIGHT ZONE "NIGHT OF THE MEEK TRAIN SCENES".
      Currently, I'm focused on the 2nd (season 2) layout. It's much simpler and more "cost effective". It's built on a 4X8 plywood sheet with a figure 8 track pattern with an outer track encircling it. The billboards scene on the 2nd layout can be easily found on eBay. The buildings scene on the 2nd layout was made of custom sawed pieces of 2X4 lumber. Namely the building with the BIG GALLON billboard on top of it.
      Since the 1st layout was severely damaged by some clumsy stagehands, and the series was on a tight budget, the props department had to make another layout with very little money to pay attention to integrate details. They had to make do with what materials that was available. Also, back then, Lionel trains were sold in every department store, everywhere. And they were affordable.
      Hopefully, when I get all of the proper items, I hope to get the Gomez' train layout project started.
      Also, please read the comments on the ADDAMS FAMILY videos for more information on the layouts. I've asked many questions myself.

    This is the third Addams Family video I have watched, and I have to say you DID improve the process, I understand why you do the sleeves separately now! A good attempt nevertheless. I have to say that though I don't have a huge knowledge (or even interest?) in the Addams family, if I DID I think Wednesday would be it, she always looks like she has the most fun of all the characters. (I am not TOTALLY ignorant of them) I am so glad you seem to be of the same mind, and I am only sad that it was the first video I saw because I would have liked it to be the last so I could properly seen the progression. But oh well. Lurch seems to be a good second place winner for me. He didn't do much in the "modern" (is '90 modern any more?) movie(s) but from what I have seen in the original show he can hold his own. (loved the Lurch/Wednesday dancing clip! :-D )

    As a can I ask where you got the iron you are using?
    And can you dial the heat higher/lower?

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can find the Clover brand irons on Amazon. Yes you can turn them high, medium and low... but I am not sure the difference between the temperatures though.

    Great job 👍🏽, next time try using thin fabric so it drapes better and fits more to the scale

      I have to admit I don't know much about fabrics and have a lot of cottons. Do you have another type of fabric you suggest? I am open to suggestions ;)

    • @munirasart

      Bentley House Minis These might work:
      Light cotton jersey
      cotton crepe
      polyester chiffon
      You can also glue permanent folds so it looks more natural 😬

    Even if the back of the shirt could be seen, it would still be cool, he's kind of like a zombie, and sometimes they cut the back of the deads clothes to get them on easier

      Such a cool thought! I knew that fact in the back of my mind but your comment made it come rushing back to me! lol! Perfect for Lurch as I believe he is supposed to reflect a Frankenstein type monster (which is pretty much a zombie) ;) Thanks so much!

    I understand trying to make clothes for dolls when you aren't a seamtress. I just made all the dolls from the Rocky Horror Picture show out of vintage cupie dolls. I made all the clothes and sculpted the hair. I had never done that before. Its a learning process. Thanks for the tips. You can check them out on IG @beccabee11.

    • @aleeandaze5839
      @aleeandaze5839 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BentleyHouseMinis you used the rectangular pieces folded in half correct ?? Instead of glueing right away try folding it over the collar of the shirt like glue one end on the inside then fold over and glue the other end on the outside ,, also if you make a few slits in the fabric along the back side of it in the middle instead of cutting in half you'll be able to fold it with out getting the wrinkles

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh ok that makes sense! Saving your comment for the next collar I make ;)

    No not how to sew it.. oh you not changes his clothes okay.messure twice, cut once.

    • @BentleyHouseMinis
      @BentleyHouseMinis  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think if the clothes were bigger I would be sure to measure twice and cut once, but thankfully since they are so small it isn't too much extra fabric to make a practice piece ;) Thanks!!
