Tobacco and Poverty in the USAPI: Why Do the Poor Smoke?

In this video we explore why rates of tobacco use are higher among the poor, including psychological reasons, environmental reasons, and even briefly biochemical reasons. We also explore statistics related to tobacco use in Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands. Correlates for prevention and treatment are also provided.
