Awesome execution of the basics of The Predator concept. Love that he's really reveling in the hunt. He's so much more technologically advanced yet comes practically naked and toys with his kills 1:45.
At first, his scenes with the snake, the wolf and the bear seem to be there only to show how dangerous The Feral Predator is, but in hindsight...I think that they are also there for another reason- if this is really the first time that a member of the Yautja race has visited earth (or at least, THIS PART of earth), then it would actually make sense that this Yautja will first get to know his surroundings by slowly assessing which animal is the apex predator of the environment, and as this Yautja will slowly make his way up in the food chain, he will eventually encounter humans. That's why he first starts with a snake, then a wolf, then a bear, and THEN he starts to focus on humans. That's actually a pretty neat detail! 😁
It proves what Stallone said in one of the Rambo movies. The greatest weapon is the human mind. Weapons are tools. I say that but the predator always sets off a nuclear bomb to waste everyone when he gets beat.
@@clydehinman7810 Maybe this particular Yautja is still a young hunter, and thus the usage of bombs in case of an enemy that is too much for him...unless you are referring to all Predators in general, in which case I don't know, as, aside from Prey, I saw both the first Predator, Predators, Alien vs Predator Requiem, and 2019's Predator, and I don't recall that race usually using bomb whenever they get overly beat down, although I could be wrong, since it's been a while since I saw these movies.

Let it be known, most predators that go to earth are young, and usually just recently blooded (meaning they killed a xenomorph and earned their gear) Imagine humans fighting a well experienced, and more deadly predator.
One thing I liked in this movie more than the original is that we see a lot more of the Predator observing and hunting. also that French slaughter scene was just badass
Had to read your comment twice. Thought you were saying this one was better than the original and I think O speak for us all by saying....”NOPE! It was not!!” Lol. But, your comment is truth tho. I like how they showed the Predator observing and using the skills it learned from the humans and animals to use against the humans.
But I thought the reason why the first predator movie was so successful was because of the suspense generated by having the monster be mysterious and unseen, if we saw it observing the protagonist all the time it kinda defeats the whole point of the mystery and undercuts the suspense and surprise.
They didn’t show the full fight. The beat threw the predator around more and even had his teeth full of the predators blood. But he walked away thinking the job was finished, and then the Predator got up and hit him with the saitama one punch.
@@PTizzleAusGN I'm a fan of good movies that don't involve identity political BS! Predator and Predator 2 are light-years ahead of the garbage that came afterwards!
I love that no human could with a predator without help and without traps, of course it is true that they are very nerfed and young blood and / or old people always arrive who underestimate their prey but this really put up a fight and each one caused damage for defeat him and it is well demonstrated in this film as in the others, since none won melee.
Which is stupid. Why can’t humanity fight something immune to traps or conventional forms of damage…. Oh, wait, they can’t. Humanity is weak. Humanity relies on weaknesses of enemies. Get one that has none and humanity folds, since there is no longer feasible way of winning. You get one being without any weaknesses and with high enough physical abilities, and humanity loses… badly. Nobody IRL can handle Homelander (capable of surviving Tzar bomb, like Soldier Boy)… even though Homelander objectively sucks when compared to literally any other superhero of caliber from comics. Once you get to high enough power level, it is a matter of brute strength/energy output, of which humanity has none. Predator is a joke on the basis of it being so damn vulnerable to typical human weapons. You would expect them to have some adamantium armour or whatever, since they are so technologically advanced. But no. We have a glass cannon that cannot survive a good stab of regular kitchen knife to the heart.

The yautja is definitely blooded, but he exhibits behavior of a young one who may only have 2 or 3 hunts under his belt which makes him young blooded. Another reason is he killed a grizzly bear without any weaponry which doesn’t seem what a unblooded would do on their first hunt. The bio-mask has a skull molded on it and it looks very similar to the river ghost alien in predators 2010. That makes it a trophy of worthy prey from a previous hunt, otherwise the yautja wouldn’t mold it on his mask. Also, every clan doesn’t have the same ranking tradition. Some clans don’t require a yautja to clear a xenomorph hive to become blooded but may be blooded after basic training.
Dude, you do realize that this Yautja is very different from all the previous ones, right? The directetor said he believed the Feral Predator is from a different hemisphere of their home planet, kinda like how Africans are different from Asians. They're the same species, just having different appearances because of location. This also means this Yautja group have different traditions than the main Predators. The director has said that this was this Predator's first time on Earth, and it seems it was one of its first hunts in general.

Great movie, as a long time Predator fan I loved it, not perfect but still a great entry to the franchise. I thought everything to do with the new creatures depiction was spot on apart from two things, the cgi shots of the face and the hands looking a bit rubbery in certain shots (especially compared to the shot where he lets the ash flow through his fingers, the hands looked amazing there and very alien/monster like). Both minor nitpicks I guess, hoping for another entry in the franchise with the same level of quality sometime in the near future 👍
I like this movie because it show the advantages and disadvantages to both the predator and the main character, the predator has more technology but the main character knows more about their surroundings
With all the lines on it. It seems like it’s a custom mask made out of bone fragments. Probably from different creatures the Predator has killed. Maybe that’s why he took part of the Wolf’s skull. To add it to his mask later on?
I wish the next Predator movie setting would be Feudal or 16th to 17th century Japan. The protagonist is a samurai or a ronin that would duel the Predator in the final showdown. I would definitely recommend Hiroyuki Sanada as the human protagonist.
I was just thinking this, maybe another film where it goes up against a viking, an african tribal warrior, or explore more of the story in south america like they did briefly in AVP.

Awesome execution of the basics of The Predator concept. Love that he's really reveling in the hunt. He's so much more technologically advanced yet comes practically naked and toys with his kills 1:45.
Daaaaaaang😊 THIS just made me feel like I don't have to watch the movie now. THIS was awesome. Badass
@@daneyal7162 I am ponca Indian and at first I thought please don't make the predator help the Indians in dealing with the onslaught of settlers with no laws or ethics governing them. But then blood flew and the fight was on. What I did miss is the dry slap humor of the first two predators. Especially Bill Paxtons character in the second one.
It's amazing, it's a shame that the movie was spoiled by the bad script, the stereotypes with the main character girl and the colonists and the men, and the twists and turns in the story were too predictable.
The most dangerous creature of all.
3:08 I love how for them stepping on a beartrap is the equivalent of stubbing your toe/stepping on a lego
I hope one day we will see the predator win against the humans, also 1:19 the bass on that hook was epic
yeah, crazy scene
Technically, they win many battes in their films, they just don't win the "war" against their respective antagonist
@LordofMovies91 yeah true but it would be nice to see them win till the end, nice lil plot twist.
Also its just makes the predators more daunting giving the audience a sense of dread, cause when i see them all i can think is how are they gonna lose this time u know?
Let it be known, most predators that go to earth are young, and usually just recently blooded (meaning they killed a xenomorph and earned their gear)
Imagine humans fighting a well experienced, and more deadly predator.
One thing I liked in this movie more than the original is that we see a lot more of the Predator observing and hunting.
also that French slaughter scene was just badass
That would've ruined the suspense
Had to read your comment twice. Thought you were saying this one was better than the original and I think O speak for us all by saying....”NOPE! It was not!!” Lol. But, your comment is truth tho. I like how they showed the Predator observing and using the skills it learned from the humans and animals to use against the humans.
But I thought the reason why the first predator movie was so successful was because of the suspense generated by having the monster be mysterious and unseen, if we saw it observing the protagonist all the time it kinda defeats the whole point of the mystery and undercuts the suspense and surprise.
