Focus Cup Round 1 Race 1 Donington Park 2024

Saturday came and the sun came out with no clouds in sight. Qualifying was early and with little rubber laid down it was going to be difficult to find the grip. However we were able to put in an impressive time of 1:25.6 putting us on pole positions with a gap of 0.8 seconds to the next car.
In race 1 we were feeling confident knowing we have good pace to keep this lead, however first lap in we had an early safety car bringing the pack close together, when the safety car when in we were then able to put our foot down and break away from the pack. Unfortunately not for long as another safety period came. Nevertheless we backed the pack up again and this time we made an ever better restart pulling a gap of 3-4 car lengths before the start line. With less than 5 minutes to go we still had a healthy lead and kept pulling away, finally the checkered flag came out and we took the first win of the season along with the fastest lap of a 1:26.3.
