Applehead is a heartfelt nickname that he used and was a called by his younger friends. He was known to call other artists Applehead (like Britney Spears) and his children as well. He also used “smelly” as a nickname but it really meant “funky”- he didn’t like the word “funky” so he used “smelly” instead.

Actually, you sound more like those wanna be immitators. Michael had full breath control and was a very strong vocalist. He never used vocal fry or any poor technic. The range of his chest voice was unbelievable and he had full control of it. His voice that he used in interviews was not his natural voice. Taking this as a guide line for how to sound like him is simply wrong and not well researched.

Hi Christopher, I just want to understand something,
1)Seth Riggs said that Michael is not breathy at all when he sings, it's totally connected, so to me ,Michael doesn't sound breathy at all , you can check Michael live tour, Victory and bad tour, in beat it or billie jean
2) Michael has been working on speech level singing for years, and Seth is very strict on the point to maintain the larynx at a neutral position ( the speech level ),so it cannot be a high larynx position ..

High Larynx and breathyness is the kiss of death to the voice! So I wouldn't recommend that people try to mimic someone else.
Michael Jackson sung with a Neutral Larynx (as instructed by Seth Riggs) 90% of the time. It's just his voice type, we all have our own unique voice and should embrace it!

You can teach a person to sing who can't sing at all you can do that because you can sing and not everybody who can sing can do that most singers can only sing in their own voice

Purple Sparkler the tone will change if you do raise the larynx. Try swallowing and feel the movement of the larynx. In the end different larynx positions will become more natural
