This is an excellent video. My wife and I are will be looking and hopefully purchasing land in Belize this September. We plan to move from our community south of Atlanta to Belize permanently. We’ve been to Belize six times in the past year, visiting family, we love it there. Love the US, but it’s getting way too expensive.
Hi, we were in Locust Grove south of ATL as well, we have run into lost of others from GA here. Keep us posted on your adventure and if we can help just let us know and thanks for watching us...😁
We did the same. We are ocean people and came here with the intentions of being close to the ocean but found the perfect spot for us in the foothills of the Mayan Mountains ⛰️ and are about an hour away from the ocean.
I know there's five major infrastructure projects going on through out Belize starting this year. So much progress, it's no wonder the prices of land is going up. I just hope the land taxes don't follow suit as quickly as the progress.
One nice thing about Santa Familia area…they are taking part of the old Haulover Bridge and will connect to San Ignacio area. It will essentially make the area a tri-city - Santa Familia, San Ignacio and Santa Elena.
Nice, beautiful area. Hopefully your not getting smoked out this weekend. It's bad here right now. Keep us posted on the progress there. Thankyou for watching and commenting. 😁😁
@@WhereToNexxt We still live in Chicago and have a few more years before we can retire. We go down every other year to Cayo area because my husband has family there.
I'm happy with my house I bought in Santa Elena. I've heard there will be concrete roads all the way to the bottom of my property so that should really improve the value of my house.
I’ve been tracking the development in and around Belmopan for the last few years, and I’m always amazed by all the new construction. It’s a far cry from the first time I visited there in 1973. At that time, it was just the government buildings near the market and a few houses. We dubbed it “Belmopan Community College” because that’s what it reminded us of.
I bought 35 acres in 2018 near corozal away from the bay. I will never sell it as its paradise...but every few months some one makes an offer, it's not for sale.
We also have two lots on Ambergris Caye that my husband bought over 10 yrs ago. We are just holding those because the value has gone up so much, and things are just in the beginning stages on the west side of AC. Our retirement home will be on the mainland in Santa Familia.
Nice job thanks I'm purchasing land in La Democracia (owner has more). Are you familiar with the growth there? The paved costal highway Blew my mind. Are you in a "gated community"
HI no we are not in a gated community, the progress on the coastal is slow and might be even slower as of now due to parts of the NEW coastal road washing away last night because of all the rains. I would definitely look into it to see where you are as in reference to where the road washed away. we really can't believe that parts of the coastal is washing away already due to rains, this will be an interesting year for sure. Thanks for watching and commeting.

Can a person buy a piece of land and park an RV on it and live on it whilst having a house built? I’m talking about more inland. I understand we’d have no amenities. Bring a generator and get a cistern. I’m probably over simplifying but is that even allowed? I really can’t find anything specific to that. IDK if you can even drive an RV into Belize? I’ve watched all your videos on purchasing vehicles land, etc. It’s been very helpful and great information!!
@googclem yes you can drive and RV in Belize and yes you can start on your property living in one. Many here have done just that. Thanks for watching the channel 😀
There's 4 houses we're looking at right now, but we would literally would have to sell our house and our mini chicken farm, and that's alot of birds to place, then try to find a remote pt online job, try to move there for a few months, try to fund a small house here try to buy and then we can relax a bit.
We had to re home birds and goats when we left Georgia so we know what that is like. We have chickens and are just starting to raise quail to sell. My grandpa always told me that FOOD SELLS ITSELF! This hasn't been easy but the benefits are awesome. Just a simple life...thanks for watching.
@WhereToNexxt we were city people, moved to the country, loved it, but it's still go go go go. Don't get me wrong, love being an artist, and film director, but when I don't have projects, it's 100+ hours working on the mini farm and my wife's small businesses. We just want to sloooooooooow way dint and scrap all this stress. But maintain my directing projects here in the States. Also sick of the big house, and all that useless junk, If that makes any sense what so ever.

Thanks for the info! How do you find talking to locals when looking to buy land? In another country i tried most people were scams working with even attorneys. How do you find long term rentals while you search? What advice do you have for people looking to buy land 10 - 100 acres? how much better or worse are the prices in general for non coastal areas?
Hi, the prices inland are way cheaper than the coast. As far as not getting scammed well that is a difficult one to be honest, not all realtors here are bad. Look up Vida And Company Belize on FB and get in touch with them, we know them personally and they are not scam artist. They are based out of San Ignacio area. Hope this helps.😀 They also have rentals and can find you one in the area you are looking at.
I hear the Corozal are is the new up and coming area but it's not close to the airport but close to the border with Mexico. Chetamual has the Maya Train coming soon. Central and South Belize are a wash in my opinion. So anything from Belize City north to Mexico, plus they are still building the new cruise ship terminal here.😀 thanks for watching.

Born and raised in Belmopan, I do not like the slow development in infrastructure (and traffic - if you are ever around Belmopan in the morning and evening then you know! Never have i seen traffic that long in 30 years of my life!) that is happening in Belmopan. It's getting too crowded, and I like space 😊. Hopefully I can move outskirts.
I intended to do more research for a while but stumbled over a property that was (even unseen) almost perfect. It's 15K for 50x100 and in an Estate. Once I saw it in person I was sure I did the right thing.
What is your legal status. I have tried over internet few years ago to get retiree visa. Los of bureaucracy, different people demanding different papers. One big mess. Finally i gave up.
We just pay the 100 a month visa extension. Just is easier with out all the BS paperwork and everything. I mean this is a developing country who needs money....🤔😁😁😁

@googclem I haven't spent to much time in Corozal to be honest. There are lots of properties for sale all over Belize. There are good Medical facilities in Belmopan in my opnion. Keep in mind that unless your buying in bulk to be honest shopping in Mexico really isn't going to save you much these days and when you add in gas and travel you may spend a few more dollars.
