IMHO, the studio needs a rug. A really gaudy 70’s disco style, orange and brown number. Though that could just be the general aesthetic of this video influencing my imagination 😅
Hello Justin long time viewer, I've never commented before but I have a request for a video. Could you review some Teddy Swims. Or Allen Stones. Or even better both. Keep up the great videos I have found loads more bands cause of your channel. Love it. I remember seeing The Darkness back when you first headlined Leeds festival it was a blast hope to see you this year.
Holy cow! I adore this song. What a breath of fresh air! I love the sincerity, the presentation. It just gives me chills how awesome this is. I'm a big Raspberries, Millennium, Big Star, Beatles, Beach Boys, Left Banke fan, and this is all of the awesome stuff of those bands rolled up into a perfect song. I can't believe that someone put this out in 2024. It's great news! This musical sound is still ALIVE!
Some of the magic of their music... is the fact it's recorded to tape. Unlike most other bands (and don't know where they get the budget)... but they're mixing the entire thing in the analog realm. That adds a lot to their authenticity.
I had the same reaction today upon hearing this song for the first time. It's been on repeat ever since, and I'm not sick of it yet. The arrangement, the harmonies, the lyrics... It's genius, and has such a positive vibe too. I also cannot believe this just came out this year -- they give me hope for the future of rock music.
I’d only seen that one music vid and found it boring, therefore didn’t look into them further… 🤷♀ now youtube has recommended this saccharine music-nerd analysis of that song, and now I’m even less interested in this band…. There’s your answer :)
I love them. So many great songs and both brothers sing beautifully and play all instruments. It’s impressive to find music that sounds like this. Great Melodie’s/harmonies. The albums ‘Songs for the general public’ & ‘Everything Harmony’ are both my favourites at the moment. I can’t get enough of this band.
@@SuziQ.The drum fill pattern is different in the Lemon Twigs song (one less beat) than in 'Just Like Heaven'. Of all the bits the brothers may have borrowed from other songs or bands, this isn't one, which is ironic. I think the drum fill simply brought the other to Justin's mind.
Mix of Nick Lowe, Rasberries, a little Beach Boys, Byrds, and some Freddie in vocals. Visually kind of Cheap Trick meets the Beatles on the set of HELP! This is the first new( to me ) band I've heard in a long while that I didn't have to make an effort to like. Thanks for turning us on to a great band!

My favourite record so far this year, closely followed by the new Kula Shaker - Natural Magick, which you might want to hear, if you haven't already. Re The Lemon Twigs, when he shreds his voice towards the end, it's very Eric Carmen/Raspberries.
Tidied up, it looks an awful lot like my nan's council house in the early 1990s. She had exactly the same sideboard. She tarted hers up with an array of crocheted doilies and a phenomenally ugly crystal pineapple.

Good to see you, Justin! Are Japan, Australia & New Zealand still ahead before the “Rides Again” tour, or is that compleat? Great to see ur posts, no matter.
Yes, most definitely show us your disco decks. I'm sure they'd look great in that space. Glad to see Davey (Cardboard) Hasselhoff is back - I'd leave him there at the back. Or alternatively you could swap his position with that lovely plant you've got there, but then the plant might not get much light - eh?
two Rickenbackers (one a12) and a Hofner bass (and one presumes Ludwig drums?) does scream A Hard Day's Night gear perhaps a touch TOO much? I like them but I'd like them a bit more if they'd take a step or two AWAY from pastiche.
Remember that one big hit by Rooney “ blue side”? I thought they were gonna be huge, had a massive Beach Boys vibe as well. Never became big. Let’s see if Lemon Teigs can

Also check out their live version they posted in October
Hello, Justin... fellow Lowestoftian here, although live in Brighton these days :) Have you heard Crown Lands Fearless? Just discovered them and am in love. Take Care. Dean
Discovered them on your channel. They never disappoint. Thanks.
I much prefer this than the death metal stuff you’ve reviewed lately. I love the sound of a Rickenbacker 12 string.😊
I used to have a copy of that Tony Hatch book.
Never.
someone learnt the lesson from the 60s, definitely beat generation vibes 😄 the bass is a Hoffner 500 type
Maybe a silver, sparkling garland in the middle between the pictures? DJ desk could work too. What are you going to play for us?
I hear the Byrds filtered through Redd Kross in there too.
Ditto, exactly !
I was reminded of Badfinger. Love it.
They actually remind me of Todd Rundgrdn’s first band The Nazz? Yes? No?
Both the Hoff and the Turtleneck is back 🙂
Remember that one big hit by Rooney “ blue side”? I thought they were gonna be huge, had a massive Beach Boys vibe as well. Never became big. Let’s see if Lemon Teigs can
another fun band well gonna tag along this channel for sure.
Hey Justin love your reviews and unpicking of songs music and lyrics. The K’s one of my favourite local bands from Newton and Warrington have a debut album “I Wonder What The World Knows out on pre order and they have been selling out shows on their recent Uk tour. Wondering if you’d be interested in them checking them out on TH-cam I love to know what you and followers think.
YES, YES, YES!!!! I have been checking every day to see if you will review this song as I knew you were going to adore it. (I am obviously convincing myself that my comments helped alert you to guys to it)
