Exploring the Esoteric Art of Long Reach Gravel Bikes and the 2013 Fyxation Quiver

In the beginning there was long reach brakes. But later on there was bigger road and gravel tires and the industry pushed disc like our civilization depended on it. But there has always been another, in which the Force was also powerful. As Leia is to Luke, so is the long-reach bike to the modern disc brake bike. You see them: the Soma Pescadero, Crust Malocchio...yet they are few and far between.
In this video I'll introduce you to the longest-standing bike of any I've ever owned over the past 35 years. Built in the wake of it's predecessors, the A. Homer Hilsen and Soma San Marcos, this one is different, and a bit of a parody on myself, touting odd pairings such as long-reach brakes with underbiking, Campagnolo with Shimano, Rapid-rise with Ultra-shift, retro-converting threadless to quill, party pace but also "full gas".
In the end it's a bike that captures my attention like no other and is nothing like you'll ever see on the showroom floor of a bike shop.
