I went to a Walmart today in a nice area, far far away from any homeless people ( if that’s possible in America anymore). All the self checkout lanes were closed permanently… because of theft.

"Fire employees that defend their stores"- This happened to me! I used to work for Walmart. I almost worked for them for 5 years! One day I reported a woman coming in and out of the store with a large backpack, both times she was wearing a different outfit. It was very suspicious. I got fired because she accused me of saying she was a thief

I was sitting in my car in a Walmart parking lot in what I thought was a crime free rural town and two security people tackled a shoplifter in front to me and held him until the police arrived.

I was listening to this man yesterday. Blew me away that the others on the news segment didn’t understand why stores are forced to close with rampant theft/shoplifting. The owner still has to pay the wholesale costs of the merchandise.

When I was 12 I stole a Slim Jim (the kind you eat, not the kind you break into a car with) and got caught. I got taken to the police station, had to spend the whole day there and was told shop lifting was a crime punishable by 7 years in prison. Now you can steal thousands of dollars worth of stuff and they just hand you a preloaded bank card and a key to a hotel room.
It was about time when billionaires began complaining about security and economics.

If i owned a store and i had too put bar codes on ice cream too keep people from stealing it. I would close the store down and pick another State. When did people start thinking they could go into a store and not pay for it. I was taught that at a very young age .How do these people think a store can stay open.The store owners has too pay for their merchandise it isn't free. Who is entitled too walk in a store and take whatever they want. It is not yours untill you pay for it.
