I had a Disco Mickey Mouse record when I was really young. I remember boogy-ing to "It's a Small World". Oh, the blissfully ignorant days of my youth! I also had The Chipmunks Punk record. Now that was awesome. I read that it actually went platinum.

I completely lost it on the Irwin "Translations", thanks for the laugh.
Sidebar: Somewhere in the nether recesses of my basement, I actually have A DIFFERENT "Irwin The Disco Duck" album by Peter Pan Records left over from my childhood. This one is a compilation of Kids Songs including some cuts from another album called "Sesame Street Fever" (Oh, how I wish I was making THAT album up. The late Robin Gibb is on it & everything).
The "Interesting" thing about this album is that Irwin is actually--dare I say--Verbal. No attempt to sound like Donald Duck, thankfully (If anything, it sounds like a sped up Phyllis Diller). Hopefully I can find it someday, but I'm sure it's on YT anyway.

Cheapo record companies like Synthetic Products who owned Peter Pan did that all the time. They'd record songs that were heading up the chart and rush out an competing crap album. I'm just amazed that they didn't get sued by Disney for the design of Irwin. The success of Irwin's albums likely caused Disney to release the Mickey Mouse Disco LP. PS: Find the Kids Stuff "Songs from Sgt Peppers and other Movies" album - they do a cover of "Shaft"!

I ran a kiddie records blog many years ago, and I developed quite a love/hate relationship with Kid Stuff Records. Everything you said about them was true on all of their records (small amount of songs and VERY extended remixes). I think my favorites were "Songs from 'Your a Good Man, Charlie Brown'" (Yeah, they really said "Your".) and the Elton John album they did that featured cheesy covers with each song preceded by a woman who read the lyrics to the song out loud in that wonderful second-grade teacher way. Thanks for the great work your doing here! (I mean "you're"!)

Can you do an oddity archive video on the fitness craze of the 1980s featuring the kiddie exercise record Mousercise and other kiddie records like that? I think this year is the 40th anniversary of the fitness craze and I wondered if you could do a video on the history of it and how it began. When I was a kid I used to have Mousercise on the vinyl record as well as the Mickey Mouse disco album and those are my favorites and I love those two albums thank you for playing the Mickey Mouse disco album in this video. So I was wondering if you could do a video on the history of the 1980s fitness craze featuring the Mousercise album and then the other kitty fitness records like that if you can find them and then maybe some of the regular workout stuff they had back then to show what it was like, however you want to do it it’s OK I just thought maybe you could feature that record since you featured Mickey Mouse disco in this video and other kitty disco records.

    I got robbed by snobs!
They took all the flat-black-plastic AV stuff and turned their noses up at the silver-plastic stuff (this was the late 80s, K?) A detective took an inconclusive fingerprint off my pretty nice (but insultingly out-dated style-wise) receiver. At least he humored me over my distress. What broke my heart most was that the scoundrel(s) took my new turntable which I'd dubbed a "full-size disc player" (as opposed to "compact disc player") since it had a motorized sliding drawer on which to place an actual vinyl LP (like a PC's optical drive)... and a little laser on the stylus head would detect the shiny spots between tracks and play whichever songs were selected... thus totally imitating the performance of th' new-fangled CD players that were becoming available at great cost.
Sigh. Now I'm sad and should go to bed.

Also as a side note. I've had a small fascination with disco duck due to todd in the shadows who talked about the song in both his worst of 1976 list and one hit wonderland on the song itself. My brother then found a copy of the single at a garage sale and bought it for me for about three fitty. So now i am the (not too) proud owner of disco duck on vinyl.

15:36 The people who produced this record, were requested to do a pretty weird thing, to turn the few seconds of a nursery rhyme into a long song.
They did the best, what was possible and this is the optimum.
It's the same, as would you be requested to cook a soup for 40 persons, but they give you the ingridients for one portion only, so you can't judge the cook, that the result is some warm water with some hardly recognizable flavour.

I have a about 19 or 20 Kid Stuff LP’s in my collection, 16 of them are “Strawberry Shortcake” albums and two of them were done by the Kid Stuff Repertory Company from 1977 through 1979. They also put out their albums based on children’s stories that sounds like a radio dramas, and then put out a series of soundalike albums in 1978 and 1979. In the 1980’s, they also put out a series of albums based on character licenses including Strawberry Shortcake, Raggedy Ann & Andy, Care Bears, Fat Albert, Pink Panther, Benji, GI Joe, Transformers, the original My Little Pony, and many more.
The last Kid Stuff albums were released around 1986 are two soundtrack albums to the “Care Bears Movie 2” and the original “My Little Pony: The Movie”, and the last Kid Stuff read-along book and record or tape of any kind was “The Popples Nutcracker Christmas” were released in late 1986 until the label folded.
IJE was their parent company of Kid Stuff Records which was owned by Irwin Schwartz in 1977. By 1985, IJE bought LJN when it was a toy company, not the same company that the AVGN was referenced in so many episodes of the Nerd. And then, he formed Gabco and IJE created GameTek when it was a video game publisher in 1987 where they put out a series of game show themed video games for the NES and other systems including “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune”.
    13:30 - I still have that album.
The “Tunes For Tots: Disco Style” album which I don’t have it in my collection right now. I will be planning on getting it in the future. I checked Discogs and I saw this album, and it goes to a whopping $50 or up. That’s crazy!

It tells the story of a clumsy Tarzan, who goes from USA to Africa, because it's mother day and instead meeting his adoptive mother, he meets that he falls in a hole or notices while swimming, that the white shark isn't his best friend.
The hookline is "Tarzan is back again, hero of the jungle, never falls on his face".
On TV it was presented with a fat singer, dressed with a tiger fur and two female dancers who wear chimpanese ears.

I had this since I was a kid, but I lost it years ago, but I still got which I had it for years. The song "It's A Small World" from "Mickey Mouse Disco" was later sampled by Fat Boy Slim entitled "Praise You" which came out in the 90's, thanks to the intro break beat in the song. I've never heard of "Tunes For Tots" with kid songs disco style. I would love to hear the full "Tunes For Tots" album. My nephew and niece would love it. I hope if there is a link for download available.

Peter Pan must've screwed it up and made him more "Donald" sounding. I'm actually sad this happened.☹ Oh, and the segues between the songs were much more connected with Irwin talking and background noise like one was in a disco or show of some kind.

Pardon me for being behind the curve, however, why is Disney bleeped out and the written version censored?

From what I've gathered, the running gag is Disney and WGN are so sensitive to potential copyright violations that if you even mention their name, your ass is toast.

How are Rio de Janeiro and sombrero related? That's a bad mistake by the songwriters. Also, José isn't spelled like that in Portuguese.

Disco duck was the same year as I was born, I love that song (Guilty Pleasure), it is possible that Rick Dees cut that track in late 75, but it took a while to hit the top. Also the etched date could be fake.

Just a little confused. Why was this brought over here? I read something about a "Blipocalypse" from the blog but wasn't sure if that was a joke or something happened. :/
Other than that though, I enjoyed the episode.

Even as a kid of the 70's, I would have thought, 'WTF?', about this apparent genre of, 'music.' When you'd rather listen to Father Abraham and the Smurfs than these records, then you know something is seriously wrong with them..! 🤣
