    Looks great👍👍 back in my scouting days we wiped dishwash liquid over outside before putting pan on the fire.
    All the black soot just wipes off when washing up

      Good tip on the ‘fairy liquid’ but probably to late for mine 😂 It’s a great bit of kit 👍🏻

    Just ordered this frying pan set to complete my camping Stanley set up you really can't beat them they cook fantastic and are so much more robust than the lighter weight stuff not worth the weight saving while on the bike.

    enjoyed the video buying one now .best way to clean black soot from your pans if cooking on an open fire is to soak the pan in the sink with washing powder sprinkle the powder in make sure the water covers the pan completley and leave over night in the morning a little wipe good as new .this works on all pots and pans

    Nice review .I was surprised at how well the inside of the pan cleaned up and its nice to have something to go on the camp fire. atb

      Thanks for that and I was pleased how it cleaned inside! Nothing like cooking on open fire and that’s the reason for the pan. I have one of those small wood burning stoves and this will be perfect

    Thanks for sharing I've got a few stanley tool boxes didn't know they made pans or perhaps they're just outsourcing and stamping their brand on it. I normally use those basic aluminium mess tins for fry ups and a Zebra stainless steel billy can for bigger curry type dishes.
    Edit- I'm not sure if cooking in aluminium mess tins is healthly so will look to change them soon.

      No problem and thanks for feedback..I think Stanley have been manufacturing in USA for a long time, I’ve previously had odd pots and mugs but they seem to have expanded their range a lot. I still use aluminium with a Trangia cook set but much prefer the stainless steel for actual cooking

    I've been eyeing up a Ridgemonkey but I like to buy tined soup/ravioli which might not work so well. This probably doesn't take up much more room and there's space to stick stuff inside too. Nice review. :)

    Very nice video, thank you. Could you let me know please if you can get the lid back on your one? I have heard that it is not possible once it is taken off. Many thanks.

      Hi Lori, funnily enough I’ve just been discussing that with my son and although i can get the lid on it doesn’t stay firmly on…I’ve ended up putting different stuff inside anyhow and will just use a strap to hold the lid in place….adapt and survive 😆

    Look at the duosal frypan for your Trangia Andrew, cheaper and hell of a lot lighter. Thanks for the review nonetheless 👍

    Did you not consider a the new Trangia non stick gourmet pan, I just wonder how bacon and eggs would turn out, think the eggs might stick. But I do like the size of the Stanley pan.

    • @GeordiLaForgery
      @GeordiLaForgery 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'd avoid non stick they won't last an outdoor life.

    • @thecampingbiker791
      @thecampingbiker791  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wanted something a bit heavier duty for camp fire cooking and also the depth of pan was important so ended up with this, although I do still use the standard aluminium Trangia, this Stanley replaced a titanium frying pan which worked well enough but had hot spots and wasn’t really deep enough.
