Went one second faster than the WR pace at every 50 up to the 150 then turned into that free and dug his own grave and built his own coffin. His arms looked so heavy on that last 50.
He has to sort his splits out better , by his last fifty ,his arms might aswell of been lead . Great swim , taking nothing from the man , one of the fastest ever 🔥
Back off by a second in the 1st 100 and he can drop 2 seconds coming home Nobody can sprint a full 200- no one Going out fast early keeps you anaerobic the entire time-of which lactic acid is a by product Andrew hits that wall earlier because he is out way too fast No amount of ‘endurance training’ is going to help that Because endurance training (aerobic respiration) is not what’s lacking here It’s lactic acid tolerance- which you can improve by lactic tolerance sets but only to an extent- No one will ever be able sprint a full 200- not even a 150- doesn’t matter how well you can tolerate lactic acid It reduces your muscles ability to generate force
I mean people swim races different from each other. That’s what makes the sport interesting. Different race strategies coming from different athletes. I think Michael’s is just going out extremely fast and hoping he can keep the lead until he puts his hand on the wall
@@xenopanda1 he’s just telling you facts, exertion = lactate. It’s not rocket science. He’s not saying that’s not the way you should swim a 200im although if he wants to break the WR I’d say he needs to slow down on the first 100.
@@xenopanda1 Every national coach out there would be saying the same thing. So if you want to make the fallacy of an appeal to authority- how about the fact that the entire swimming world doesn’t swim this way for a reason. Andrew is not going to reinvent human physiology. I’ll defer to a to every national coach in existence over a single swimmer.
i swear to god that freestyle leg is the most anticlimactic thing to watch ever lmao. he goes from serious swimmer to a joke real quick. i seriously dont like or respect Andrews, not for his athletic capabilities nor his terrible social views he loves to shove down peoples throats
@@Viccobalta I met Michael in person n he is the most well manner, humble n polite kid I have ever encountered. I didn't even know he is a top swimmer until one day he told me he gonna fly to Hawaii to train for the Olympics.

lol nice interpretation... lochte got him by 5 seconds it's A lot
Congratulation, champ Michel! Just a little improvement in the last 50 m free, and you will do it!! Yes, reach the world record!!
In the last 25 it was like he was swimming in mud. Sooo heavy...
If could feel the pain in the last 50
He shut it down in the Freestyle
No, he died. There's a huge difference
So much speed!
He is incredible.
sadly he went 1:57 on the olympics, hope he bounces back
Heavy layeth the piano.
Maybe in tonight’s final

Do you really think you know better than the world-leading swimmer and his coach?

@@questioneverything3060 or maybe go even more faster
Lest see what he decides

Lochte is toast
He messed up but he has a chance
He needs to take it out faster. Haha.
... and then . just . tanks .
His free stroke is not so good
still nothing at the olympics

he needs that freestyle
He needs stamina, since he is very good in individual 50m free, being in top 8 on fina ranking currently.
