Love the PS3 content. I still buy games from the PS3 store, about to get another, Datura. PS Move game that I recently became aware of. Biggest issue is how long it takes to download/install games, so slow. Also, PS3 store has Fatal Frame 1-3, Yakuza: Dead Souls, a ton of solid PSX classics. It still has great digital stuff that isnt available on PS4/PS5.
You wouldn't happen to know exactly how many actual games are on physical disc? cause i have a hard time to find which games are physical vs digital only.

Also, if youve been a PS+ subscriber for a while, you should check your account settings within the PS3 (not the store), go to purchases, you may see that you have access to a bunch of free games that you werent aware of.
Yo I was playing GTA IV online and mw2 all week on my PS3, love the content. You should do a PSN exclusives that are only available on the PSN store on the PS3. Trying to stockpile exclusive games so I can dump them in backups to my PC in case the store shuts down
Okay so I just logged onto this thing for the first time since 2017 and after a few updates and password hiccups, I can confirm that I can go past the Playstation Music tab without my console crashing. I am on a PS3 Slim
The PS3 is a beast for anyone who owns physical PSX games. I bought up the Resident Evil Origins bundle & RE4 to condense all my RE games onto one system. It's also comforting to know that whenever my PS1 laser inevitably dies, i'll still have a way to play through my collection of older games.
There’s a ton of stuff that doesn’t show up in it’s proper categories. For example, some games/content only shows up if you type it in the search bar. I’m still bummed that Sony took away the ability to transfer games via usb cable to your handhelds. It was the only way to get Silent hill and MGS1 on your Vita.
You can't stress the store too much. You really got to come in the store ready for business. Funds preloaded, know exactly what you want add to cart buy and get out of there 😂
Just got gifted a ps3 from a friends dad , and I already bought 3 games off the store including Dino crisis which isn’t on the ps5 store & the physical copy is around $50-60 USD definitely still enjoying the Ps3 store to this DAY!

Unfortunately, the app was discontinued back in 2022, so even if you download it it won't work. It's actually incredible that it was working on the system for as long as it did. I guess they just forgot to remove it.
I found my old PS3 (Slim) in the loft recenetly. Purchased a Retro Fighters controller, downloaded all my old content content from "View Downloads", and purchased two of my favourite titles (that I used to have physical copies, but gave to my son). Been out of gaming for like 15 years, but loving playing it again. Keep up the great videos. Loving the content! :)
Can confirm it works. I use gift cards to buy stuff from it because there ain't no way I'm giving credit card info directly to Sony. Bought Street Fighter X Tekken and its DLC (Steam version doesn't work), Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition, Capcom vs SNK 2, Armored Core Verdict Day, and Wipeout HD Fury (don't have a PS4, so I can't get Omega Collection) within the last year with zero problems.

Well, in Romania the prices are way off, FarCry 4 is like 300 lei(60€) or infamous is 30€ a piece. When Fc4 on ps4 in Romania is 4€ and infamous second son is 7€
The problem with the PS3 PSN store is that you can't buy certain games if your account isn't from other countries such as USA, Canada, etc. I had to create a USA PSN account & buy a USA PSN card on EBay just so I could buy PS1 games that aren't available in Europe & UK. Examples being Dino Crisis 1 & 2, Parasite Eve 1, Megaman Legends 1 & 2, etc. And it's really annoying how Sony does this, because older PlayStation consoles has a huge library of games, but you cannot buy or get some of them from the PS3 store, because your account isn't from a specific country. And the PS3 store will eventually shut down, but hopefully when it does, the PS3 players will be able to keep the digital games that they bought & downloaded from the store. Because let me tell you, some of the physical games for PS1 are insanely expensive.
I'm both amazed and delighted that the PlayStation 3 Store is still operational in 2024. But the fact that its exclusive titles and DLCs aren't being transferred over to newer systems, including classic PS1 and PS2 that aren't on PS Plus, is disconcerting. Game preservationists, take note.

The PS3 store isn't all that broken. The only headache is adding funds. You can only add predetermined amounts at the Playstation website (unless you own newer PS consoles). My PS3 has never frozen in the download section. Game prices at the store generally went down after the pandemic. USSF4 is $24.99 which is cheaper than some used physical copies sold online. If you want to play more obscure titles like Puppeteer, the PS3 is the way to go, unless you own newer PS consoles.
UGH they let me buy 3 items off the store with my card and now i cannot access any of it to download them , i got the emails saying " Your PlayStation Store transaction was successful. Thanks!" BUT i can't do anyhting to get them to download ,,

I have resident evil 3, silent hill, and Castlevania SotN on my ps3 because i bought them back in 2010 (along with Wolfenstein 3D, alien breed impact, and dead nation). I cant get back into my old ps3 user account because the email is long dead, but I want to download a bunch of classic games still listed. Persona games, fatal frame games, dino crisis, alundra, vagrant story etc.

Perhaps it was made unavailable because the version that's being sold currently removed some songs due to copyright reasons and when you bought GTAIV it came with all the songs.

FIFA and some other sports games don't have price because they ran out of license for soundtracks and other stuff and didn't bother renewing it. Because of this, some of the good fifa games [like fifa 16] are not purchasable on pc at all and didn't even get cracked. Meaning, it's impossible to play the game if you don't own it already [unless you manage to find keys from shady sites and even those will eventually run out].
Most PS3 firts party exclusives are really cheap, I'd recommend the Jack & Daxter Collection; the Sly Cooper Collection; Infamous Collection; and God of War Origins Collection. You'll get most of the games for 5 bucks or less.

Considering that the latest leak revealed that the PS3 still has 2 million active users, I think it should last for a while longer. Which is surprising considering the Xbox 360 and even 3DS/Wii U have already closed, kudos to Sony for that.
The Xbox 360 store is still open (at least until the end of July 2024) but yeah it will be interesting to see how long Sony is going to tolerate the PS3 store and online multiplayer before they completely pull the plug on it. If they are going to do so I just wish that most of thePS1,PS2 & PSP games that were previously available on the store are made playable on PS4 & PS5 but I can't say I have a lot of faith outside of wishful thinking.
What I always hated about the PlayStation store on ps3 is some games would have listings that would show a price and when you clicked on them to buy the listing would change and say ‘disc only’ which didn’t make any sense if it’s only on disc why is it listed on the digital store ? 💀

Go to the account management bit on the very last tab on the xmb it should show up as available downloads.

Dont count on it. Their 11.02 update screws up almost every game. Some issue with sound files in games.

The Xbox 360 store is still open (at least until the end of July 2024) but yeah it will be interesting to see how long Sony is going to tolerate the PS3 store and online multiplayer before they completely pull the plug on it. If they are going to do so I just wish that most of thePS1,PS2 & PSP games that were previously available on the store are made playable on PS4 & PS5 but I can't say I have a lot of faith outside of wishful thinking.

What I always hated about the PlayStation store on ps3 is some games would have listings that would show a price and when you clicked on them to buy the listing would change and say ‘disc only’ which didn’t make any sense if it’s only on disc why is it listed on the digital store ? 💀
I really want them to fix the PS3 log in I said of qr codes that sends me to the play Account online that is only PS4 is in PS5 not for PS3 They really need to fix this
