Cloud of Forgetting and Cloud of Unknowing are two terms used in the book "Cloud of Unknowing" from an anonymous 14th century Christian mystic. The book details how the path to spiritual transcendence is to completely surrender your ego, your attachment to the world and even your personal thought processes, then dispose of them into the "cloud of forgetting." This allows you to begin entering a state of spiritual bliss called the "cloud of unknowing" where a person is as close as possible to the presence of God. It's a really amazing book.
Don’t expect Leaving Meaning to be as grand as these last 3 albums, it really is a great album on its own but it can definitely seem disappointing if you’re expecting something as mind blowing as the last few albums Excited to see your reaction though!
This album has literally changed my life about 3 or 4 times now. Everytime ive failed or lost or fell into blackness the Glowing Man was what brought me back to living. Listening to this is like taking a retreat, sitting in deep meditation and tearing apart and seeing the truths of yourself. If nobody got me, i know the glowing man got me. Can i get an amen🙏
Listening to this album for the first time was one of those things I just knew I would somehow never be the same again after. The feelings it blew me away with and then knotted in my belly raised the bar for what I knew I loved of music. So cheered to share your first listen, and at your appreciation! leaving meaning. gets the nose from a lot of Swans fans that don’t connect with it because of its transition in tone from the trilogy, but I still think it’s a great record. The sequencing can seem jarring, but after ten or so listens I think it’s as perfect as any Swans album is at conveying its themes. Its themes are just more withheld and abstract, but the restraint is key to its force, imo.
15:14 the description reminded me of the bass on mbv song she found now... The bass all over the song is just bzz bzz bzz bzz with something weird layered on top of it
I remember feeling the same way after watching mad max. Same with reading dune too. Really makes you realize how much we use day to day. The water wars of the future will be rough.
Good Stuff! Now, you're nearly ready to watch or listen to some live recordings. When it comes to official albums released, I think most put "Swans are Dead" at number 1, with my favourite, which is usually number 2, but it's my number One.... "Deliquescene " . And it's their longest album at 2 hours and 30 odd minutes long. There's Some fantastic "Crescendo-Core" ....if that's why you're into SWANS !?!?
Btw my new favorite album these days is spears into hooks by meira asher Its sad that not many people know about this cause its probably the most abrasive music I've listened to (i mean there are bangers but they just go too hard) there are also genuinely scary moments in there The genre is like industrial/electronic opera Very anti-war protest rock n roll typa shit you'll love it Its 10/10 perfect

I’ve been waiting for this. This album left the hugest impression on me. It’s the closest I’ve ever come to God.
The drop/breakdown into The Glowing Man **NEVER** dissapoints.
one of the best grooves they've put to tape
FYI the glowing man is Joseph, an entity that possesses Michael and writes the songs through him (Not kidding, he said that)
I just read that now, but that‘s mad crazy
@@luggareviews hey! You replied! That's cool. Thanks
im glad you finally got to react to this record. the title track is one of the best tracks ive ever heard.
Thank you for watching 🖤

I’ve been waiting for this album for so long, hopefully you’re doing fine. The destination destiny LP you made was so awesome btw. Much love
Glad you like my LP :)! Thank you for watching 🖤!!
Gira's voice really matches meditative songs a lot... That's when I love his voice the most out of the songs and albums I've heard...
By far my favourite Swans record to date. So pleased to finally be able to watch this :)

New video, new look!
can't wait to see them live in August

I think it's a string attached on top some traditional percussion... Making sound of both perc and bass ig

Would love to see you take a listen to Sky Ferreira. Her debut album Night time, my time is a great alt rock album from the early 2010’s
I hope youre mentally prepared for The Beggar lol

The world looks red is a Sonic Youth cover.
Gira has written the song for Sonic Youth back then.
