    This video made laugh so hard because it reminded me of a sailor who had himself tattooed in Hong Kong with the same crap.

      Taiwan use traditional, this is the reason I'm teaching traditional characters in my course.

    My uncle got a Chinese tattoo a long time ago before I started learning Chinese...I now know that his tattoo says “daughter” when he always thought it said “Mother”...Not as bad as 猪肉 but he doesn’t even have a daughter so 🤭

    • @smartmandarinkatrinalee
      @smartmandarinkatrinalee  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're right, Google translate sometimes can't translate the exact meaning of Mandarin words.

    Thank you for this video.Those tatoos are funny. If I decide to get a tatoo, it will be 愛 on my chest or my chinese name , 韓智寧, on my back 😁

    I am surprised you didn't mention the recipe for lemonade tattoo on Riley Reid's back. But maybe that would be to introduce another topic far from the purpose of your lessons...

    我已经见过垃圾箱标注“垃圾”。如果我平生得到刺青就会说“刺青”。很漂亮。很简单。免得洋相。 :-)

      If a trash bin can be marked "trash", then I thought a Chinese tattoo could similarly just have the marking 刺青 ("tattoo"), because that's what it is. So it's better than being marked with 鸡汤 ("chicken soup") or something ridiculous like that. [ Maybe my English (or my thinking) is also incomprehensible. ]
