I have my computer on full volume in my headphones cuz my brother is screaming in the other room. Because of this, the rasp in the tent almost gave me a heart attack and I had to stop the video for a second to calm my heart.
No it’s cold place... germs can’t move as quickly in the cold as in heat so the germs of patients can’t transfer as quickly and less people will get sick from other patients I think that’s right though if I’m wrong sorry And I think it was a joke but... That being said, if I was to give any advice, I'd recommend that you talk a bit slower. Also maybe practice reading the story a few times before you record. I usually draw while listening to creepypastas, and this is fantastic. Thank you!

Tbh I would be either the worst or best horror movie/story character. I know this because even if I'm scared out of my mind I do weird things that the killer /monster wouldn't expect because you never see that in a movie or hear it in a story. like for example, I was in a tent in my backyard because I wanted to sleep outside because why not? it's summer and I have nothing better to do. I started hearing footsteps and guess what I do. I ship out my phone and play the Thomas the train theme song. at full blast. so yeah I shall outweird the weiros :^)

So, this isn't the actual ending of the story. *SPOILER ALERT* Basically, they both make it out of the woods and manage to get to the main characters house. They spend the night terrified in the bathroom and then they find that everything is okay in the morning after they check it. They call Chris's parents who pick him up. Later, the main character is getting a drink and hears the faucet going 'Tap, tap, tap.' He turns it off but when he's walking away he hears it again... but it sounds more like clicking. He turns around and sees the monsters silhouette leaning on the garden fence.., And then it's starts walking towards his house. THE END.
Best Torch, Much bright, 10/10 would shine again. But really tho, in you illustration that flashlight is some king of luminece god. Looks awesome anyways.

I personally found this really upsetting, I even cried towards the end, so I decided to make my own end to the story- now just so you know, I'm not trying to change the original story, I thought it was really good, this is just for me and anybody else who wants to read this,( also excuse the grammar, English is not my first language)- I suddenly woke with a start. I was covered in sweat. I realized that I was back at my house and sitting on the sofa. The TV was turned on so I suppose I must've fallen asleep watching TV. I tried remembering what the dream was about. A monster in the tent. The lantern. The monsters horrible voice. I remember, it scared Chris and I. Wait, where's Chris? Oh that's right, I was watching TV with him. Is he still here. I tried calling for him but my voice was parched and croaky. I tried again- ' C- Chris?'- my heart pounded louder in my chest. He suddenly entered the living room, - 'hmm, I was in the kitchen, you fell asleep so I thought I'd get you a snack and water when you woke up'- I sighed with relief. Chris looked at me, concerned- ' are you ok, you're sweating a lot?'- he walks up to me and sits down beside me. I shakily turn and hug him. - 'man, I had the scariest dream, I thought you d- died'- tears start falling down my face uncontrollably. He puts a comforting hand on my back. I suddenly felt uncomfortable knowing that I would be alone in the house at night so I ask Chris to stay over so we can have a sleepover- ' sure,'- he adds- ' and tomorrow we can camp in the small forest outside my house'- ' NO!'- I yell. He looks confused, - ' you ok, I thought you weren't scared of the dark?'- I mumble- ' I just... don't like forests...' Chris still looks concerned but then sighs- 'thats ok, if you don't want to, I'm not gonna force you'. I then look outside the window, over to the place I thought I saw something. In its place there was a plant pot in my neighbors back garden that I hadn't seen before. I put my trainers on and step outside, Chris follows after closing the front door. I walk up to it and I see my neighbor behind it fiddling around with some garden tools. - ' um, excuse me, I couldn't help but notice this plant here, is it new?'- I ask nervously. My neighbor suddenly looks up and smiles kindly. - ' oh, I just bought this yesterday, I thought it looked nice. Is it troubling you?' she chuckled. 'oh, no, er,have a good day...'. I then turn round and walk away, Chris catching up to me- ' what was that about'- he asks. I reply- ' that's the strange shape we saw through the window'- ' ahh, ok'- Chris nods-' up for a movie night,'- he asks. His smile making me unable to resist,-' sure!', I start smiling as well. The end. Hope you liked it. I repeat this was only for fun and for a positive ending because I'm a wuss. Thanks for reading, I guess :)....

How it really ended- ‘Don’t you make a sound’. ‘Chris. Pleeease.’ It sounded so wrong, drawn out like a door slowly opening. Chris let out a whimper as it called him. I froze and waited for something, anything to happen. There was a long silence and I held my breath for as long as I could. I couldn’t wait anymore. Very slowly I reached out to Chris and put my hand on his shoulder, and very carefully we both lifted our feet and managed to step without making a sound. We back stepped away from the voice and didn’t stop moving, but ever so carefully. So, so slowly. I didn’t care how long it would take us to get somewhere, if it took us an hour every step, we were going to get out. Chris backed into a tree, and gasped audibly. The clicking started up immediately, ‘click click clack click’, it rolled on, consistently moving towards us. I didn’t know what to do, All I could think of was to screw my eyes shut and try not to scream. As we stood there, the clicking came to a stop an arms length away from where we stood. Silence. ‘Chrisss. Turn it on. Pleeease.’ Fear took over, Chris switched on the light and tore off in the other direction without looking behind him, I wheeled in place and held that lantern in my sight like nothing else existed. We didn’t dare look at the thing, but we could hear it. Our footsteps thudded on the grass, and the thing pursued us with a ‘taptaptaptap’, now like scurrying little claws on hard earth. As I ran desperately to catch up to the light, the sound suddenly rose up behind me and over our heads in between the trees. This wasn’t happening, it was going to drop down on us. ‘Turn!’ I screamed. I didn’t care anymore, if we were going to get out with our lives, we were going to have to run for them . We suddenly changed course, the tapping stopped for a moment, long enough for us to gain a few feet before it came in our direction again. My legs were cramping horribly and Chris was gasping hard, We couldn’t keep this up. Where were we? I saw the light from the lantern come to an abrupt halt up ahead, I didn’t have time to stop, and braced myself to thump into Chris, but the light passed beneath my feet. He had dropped the lantern. I turned my head and watched it recede into the darkness, it was immediately too far for me to go back, the thing would be on me in a second. ‘Chris!’ I was crying and swiping tears from my cheeks as I ran, preparing for my face to connect with a tree at any moment. ‘Keep Going!’ I heard Chris from up ahead, ‘there’s a light!’ My vision was bleary from tears but could see it, an orange glow hanging in the air in the distance. Another one? What was happening? I wanted to scream at him to avoid it, but I realized it was a street light. My legs felt like I was running through water, but I pushed them harder with a goal in sight. Gradually and painfully the light drew closer, as did the clicking. This thing could move like nothing I knew. I saw Chris’s figure pass underneath the street light and then he was gone again. ‘Don’t stop!’ I yelled as I approached the edge of the forest, and my legs adjusted as the forest floor gave way to solid footing. I could see a row of more streetlights leading off to the right, and Chris’s figure was passing regularly underneath each. When I was sure I was completely out of the trees I didn’t stop, I ran under several more street lights putting as much distance as I could manage between us and the edge of the woods. I realised after a while that the clicking had stopped, I needed to see we were ok. I turned my head and looked back along the row of lights, keeping my gaze on the first light. my pace slowed as the pain in my head and legs came back. There was silence once more, and the lights revealed an empty pathway. I jogged on and kept my eyes on the glow, expecting to see something at any minute. but it lit up nothing but concrete and the edge of the road. ‘Is it there?’ The question pulsed in my mind over and over. As I turned my head to continue catching up to Chris, I caught sight of something pass under the first street light. An almighty shock went through me as my fears were confirmed, I let out a cry and picked up the pace once more, sprinting between the lights. The image was burned into my mind. I hardly caught a glimpse of the thing, but it was white, and massive, it almost brushed the street light as it went under it. It had a long, upright body full of kinks, like it had just unfolded itself, and that’s all I was able to tell. It must have had a face and limbs, but I didn’t have time to see. I didn’t look again, the path gave way to more lights and soon I could see the glow of windows in some houses either side of the road, I recognized where we were, close to my house by some miracle. A little further and we would be there. ‘My House!’ I yelled, and Chris listened, turning left onto a side street and dashing down. With panic on my side I reached the turning and looked down the road to see Chris jumping the fence into my garden. ‘Hurry up!’ I heard him scream. Reaching the fence I planted my hands on top, hoisting myself over and shredding my elbows in the process. My ankles stung as I thudded into the garden, and sprinted towards the kitchen door. Chris stepped aside gasping for air as I fumbled the key into the lock and wrenched it sideways. We both flew into the kitchen and slammed the door behind us. I locked it from the inside and we both sprinted upstairs into the bathroom, locking it behind us. ‘What was that!?’ I managed to say in a panicked whisper, wondering if it would get in. ‘Did you see it?’ ‘No.’ Chris crouched under the window, letting tears roll. ‘Shit! It was so tall it- It was- I couldn’t-‘ ‘Don’t tell me’ Chris cut me off. I mulled it over again and again as we sat there, minutes slowly ticked by into hours. My head was fizzing all the while and I could still hear it’s voice, that disgusting voice. My elbows and fore arms were sticky with blood and we both looked at the floor, the occasional sob coming from the two of us. Our hearts banged in our chests, and we spent the night that way. Light streamed in from the window, but we didn’t unlock the bathroom door until noon. We crept downstairs, the kitchen door was still locked and nothing was in the house. I looked out of the living room window, another perfect day. No people walked by, but the sprinklers were on and I could hear birds again. It helped to calm our nerves. ‘That tent can stay there.’ I said at last. ‘Yeah.’ Chris Agreed. We stayed in the living room with the TV off all day, we didn’t know what to do, and talked about if we should call the police or something. The day crawled by as we tried to rake our thoughts together and think of what to do next. but all that went through my mind was what had just happened, not what we should be doing. By the time it was dark at about 9pm, the phone rang. It was Chris’s parents asking if I had seen him as they were getting worried, they had just got back from out of town. I let them know he was ok, and asked if they could come and pick us both up from my house because something had happened. They wanted to know what, but I said we’d both tell them when they get here. They said they’d be here soon. Relief washed over us as adults were on there way to make everything alright. They would believe us, we didn’t lie about these things. Even if they were sceptical, they’d at least believe that some dangerous animal was in the forest and that was good enough for us. I went into the kitchen to get some juice from the fridge and realised I hadn’t had a drink all day. I could hear water dripping in the sink, so I turned the faucet tighter and glugged some juice. As I headed towards the living room, the water started to tap again. I flicked the light on and realized it wasn’t coming from the sink, or anywhere in the room for that matter. It sounded like it was coming from further away. I looked out into the garden, and could just about see a fuzzy, tall silhouette leaning up against the back fence in the dark. Actually, the tapping sounded more like clicking. The figure slowly moved away from the fence and clicked across the grass towards the house. ‘Pleaaase.’

Theres this albino cat that stares at me through my bedroom window whenever it rains because her ownwers are assholes and don't let her in at night so she's cold and wet and just wants in, but the first time I saw her I was terrified because this white cat with red eyes was staring through my window at like 2 am. This reminded me of her.

I need to stop watching these in the dark, super late at night, and I also have a old house that likes to make creaky noises. I remember me and my friend were just in my room talking super late at night when all of a sudden we heard a huge crash in the kitchen and nothing happen ;-; oh jesus while typing this I just heard a noise
Wait, so the end was that Chris ran and made noise so the thing went after him and he died? so the other guy got away bc the thing was occupied chasing Chris?
No. Chris ran so Protag ran after him. They outrun the creature and lock the doors to Protag's house and hid in the loo. In the evening the next day, Chris's family ring to come pick him up and Protag asks to go with. Then Protag sees the creature at his fence out the window, staring at him.
Not even gonna lie this one is SO well written, it gives you just enough to ACTUALLY be scary but keeps just enough unexplained to leave some blanks for your mind to fill in and make worse. And then there's the whole thing with how the title cues the reader in with how at the beginning the whole thing is centered around lights...The FUCKING dread I felt when the narrator asked Chris to turn the lantern off. SO GOOD.
2:03 OMG I'm not the only one who does this! I know he's a fictional character but, I remember regretting the time I DID sleep with my head next to the wall. I remember feeling so tired with paranoia that I couldn't sleep. A minute or two goes by, and I hear scratching against my door. I turn and say, "Maggie", who is my dog btw. Nothing. I though I had just heard something that was outside but, no. I turned myself to the wall and hear whispering. I was too afraid to turn and so, I didn't. I kept hearing my name being whispered over and over. I turned myself over and saw nothing, that is, until I looked at the edge of my bed. Something white moved rather fast to my closet. In a cold sweat, I had told myself it was just my imagination. But, I kept seeing that every night. I told myself the same thing every time it happened. "It's not real, it's not real." I moved to a new house last year and, I don't see a white figure rushing to the side of anything. Except, I sometimes hear scratching under my bed. I always look cautiously underneath but, nothing. Yep, that's all true. It still happens to me. Yay
Some times squirrels get inside my roof and because part of the ceiling of my roof is slanted they get stuck. So I hear a creepy scratch as they attempt to crawl up the slanted roof.
I like how this story treats the characters and the readers as intelligent. The shining moment for me for this is actually when the main character finds the umbrella under the stairs and straightaway realises the issue, and the author doesn't do that "Hang on, if the umbrella was here, then what was outside?" type of line, it just transitions straight to the yard because it assumes the reader is keyed into the creepy details and is smart enough to notice
Watching you draw while listening to these makes me less scared mostly because of your cutsey art and non creepy wispery man voice that most creepy pastas have.

Tbh I would be either the worst or best horror movie/story character. I know this because even if I'm scared out of my mind I do weird things that the killer /monster wouldn't expect because you never see that in a movie or hear it in a story. like for example, I was in a tent in my backyard because I wanted to sleep outside because why not? it's summer and I have nothing better to do. I started hearing footsteps and guess what I do. I ship out my phone and play the Thomas the train theme song. at full blast. so yeah I shall outweird the weiros :^)

So, this isn't the actual ending of the story.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Basically, they both make it out of the woods and manage to get to the main characters house. They spend the night terrified in the bathroom and then they find that everything is okay in the morning after they check it. They call Chris's parents who pick him up. Later, the main character is getting a drink and hears the faucet going 'Tap, tap, tap.' He turns it off but when he's walking away he hears it again... but it sounds more like clicking. He turns around and sees the monsters silhouette leaning on the garden fence.., And then it's starts walking towards his house.
THE END.

The feeling of 'nope' in this story is overwhelming, haha.
I personally found this really upsetting, I even cried towards the end, so I decided to make my own end to the story- now just so you know, I'm not trying to change the original story, I thought it was really good, this is just for me and anybody else who wants to read this,( also excuse the grammar, English is not my first language)-
I suddenly woke with a start. I was covered in sweat. I realized that I was back at my house and sitting on the sofa. The TV was turned on so I suppose I must've fallen asleep watching TV. I tried remembering what the dream was about. A monster in the tent. The lantern. The monsters horrible voice. I remember, it scared Chris and I. Wait, where's Chris? Oh that's right, I was watching TV with him. Is he still here. I tried calling for him but my voice was parched and croaky. I tried again- ' C- Chris?'- my heart pounded louder in my chest. He suddenly entered the living room, - 'hmm, I was in the kitchen, you fell asleep so I thought I'd get you a snack and water when you woke up'- I sighed with relief. Chris looked at me, concerned- ' are you ok, you're sweating a lot?'- he walks up to me and sits down beside me. I shakily turn and hug him. - 'man, I had the scariest dream, I thought you d- died'- tears start falling down my face uncontrollably. He puts a comforting hand on my back. I suddenly felt uncomfortable knowing that I would be alone in the house at night so I ask Chris to stay over so we can have a sleepover- ' sure,'- he adds- ' and tomorrow we can camp in the small forest outside my house'- ' NO!'- I yell. He looks confused, - ' you ok, I thought you weren't scared of the dark?'- I mumble- ' I just... don't like forests...' Chris still looks concerned but then sighs- 'thats ok, if you don't want to, I'm not gonna force you'. I then look outside the window, over to the place I thought I saw something. In its place there was a plant pot in my neighbors back garden that I hadn't seen before. I put my trainers on and step outside, Chris follows after closing the front door. I walk up to it and I see my neighbor behind it fiddling around with some garden tools. - ' um, excuse me, I couldn't help but notice this plant here, is it new?'- I ask nervously. My neighbor suddenly looks up and smiles kindly. - ' oh, I just bought this yesterday, I thought it looked nice. Is it troubling you?' she chuckled. 'oh, no, er,have a good day...'. I then turn round and walk away, Chris catching up to me- ' what was that about'- he asks. I reply- ' that's the strange shape we saw through the window'- ' ahh, ok'- Chris nods-' up for a movie night,'- he asks. His smile making me unable to resist,-' sure!', I start smiling as well. The end. Hope you liked it. I repeat this was only for fun and for a positive ending because I'm a wuss. Thanks for reading, I guess :)....

How it really ended-
‘Don’t you make a sound’.
‘Chris. Pleeease.’
It sounded so wrong, drawn out like a door slowly opening. Chris let out a whimper as it called him. I froze and waited for something, anything to happen. There was a long silence and I held my breath for as long as I could. I couldn’t wait anymore. Very slowly I reached out to Chris and put my hand on his shoulder, and very carefully we both lifted our feet and managed to step without making a sound. We back stepped away from the voice and didn’t stop moving, but ever so carefully. So, so slowly. I didn’t care how long it would take us to get somewhere, if it took us an hour every step, we were going to get out. Chris backed into a tree, and gasped audibly. The clicking started up immediately, ‘click click clack click’, it rolled on, consistently moving towards us. I didn’t know what to do, All I could think of was to screw my eyes shut and try not to scream. As we stood there, the clicking came to a stop an arms length away from where we stood. Silence.
‘Chrisss. Turn it on. Pleeease.’
Fear took over, Chris switched on the light and tore off in the other direction without looking behind him, I wheeled in place and held that lantern in my sight like nothing else existed. We didn’t dare look at the thing, but we could hear it. Our footsteps thudded on the grass, and the thing pursued us with a ‘taptaptaptap’, now like scurrying little claws on hard earth. As I ran desperately to catch up to the light, the sound suddenly rose up behind me and over our heads in between the trees. This wasn’t happening, it was going to drop down on us. ‘Turn!’ I screamed. I didn’t care anymore, if we were going to get out with our lives, we were going to have to run for them . We suddenly changed course, the tapping stopped for a moment, long enough for us to gain a few feet before it came in our direction again. My legs were cramping horribly and Chris was gasping hard, We couldn’t keep this up. Where were we? I saw the light from the lantern come to an abrupt halt up ahead, I didn’t have time to stop, and braced myself to thump into Chris, but the light passed beneath my feet. He had dropped the lantern. I turned my head and watched it recede into the darkness, it was immediately too far for me to go back, the thing would be on me in a second.
‘Chris!’ I was crying and swiping tears from my cheeks as I ran, preparing for my face to connect with a tree at any moment.
‘Keep Going!’ I heard Chris from up ahead, ‘there’s a light!’ My vision was bleary from tears but could see it, an orange glow hanging in the air in the distance. Another one? What was happening? I wanted to scream at him to avoid it, but I realized it was a street light. My legs felt like I was running through water, but I pushed them harder with a goal in sight. Gradually and painfully the light drew closer, as did the clicking. This thing could move like nothing I knew. I saw Chris’s figure pass underneath the street light and then he was gone again. ‘Don’t stop!’ I yelled as I approached the edge of the forest, and my legs adjusted as the forest floor gave way to solid footing. I could see a row of more streetlights leading off to the right, and Chris’s figure was passing regularly underneath each. When I was sure I was completely out of the trees I didn’t stop, I ran under several more street lights putting as much distance as I could manage between us and the edge of the woods. I realised after a while that the clicking had stopped, I needed to see we were ok. I turned my head and looked back along the row of lights, keeping my gaze on the first light. my pace slowed as the pain in my head and legs came back. There was silence once more, and the lights revealed an empty pathway. I jogged on and kept my eyes on the glow, expecting to see something at any minute. but it lit up nothing but concrete and the edge of the road.
‘Is it there?’ The question pulsed in my mind over and over. As I turned my head to continue catching up to Chris, I caught sight of something pass under the first street light. An almighty shock went through me as my fears were confirmed, I let out a cry and picked up the pace once more, sprinting between the lights. The image was burned into my mind. I hardly caught a glimpse of the thing, but it was white, and massive, it almost brushed the street light as it went under it. It had a long, upright body full of kinks, like it had just unfolded itself, and that’s all I was able to tell. It must have had a face and limbs, but I didn’t have time to see.
I didn’t look again, the path gave way to more lights and soon I could see the glow of windows in some houses either side of the road, I recognized where we were, close to my house by some miracle. A little further and we would be there.
‘My House!’ I yelled, and Chris listened, turning left onto a side street and dashing down. With panic on my side I reached the turning and looked down the road to see Chris jumping the fence into my garden.
‘Hurry up!’ I heard him scream. Reaching the fence I planted my hands on top, hoisting myself over and shredding my elbows in the process. My ankles stung as I thudded into the garden, and sprinted towards the kitchen door. Chris stepped aside gasping for air as I fumbled the key into the lock and wrenched it sideways. We both flew into the kitchen and slammed the door behind us. I locked it from the inside and we both sprinted upstairs into the bathroom, locking it behind us.
‘What was that!?’ I managed to say in a panicked whisper, wondering if it would get in. ‘Did you see it?’
‘No.’ Chris crouched under the window, letting tears roll.
‘Shit! It was so tall it- It was- I couldn’t-‘
‘Don’t tell me’ Chris cut me off.
I mulled it over again and again as we sat there, minutes slowly ticked by into hours. My head was fizzing all the while and I could still hear it’s voice, that disgusting voice. My elbows and fore arms were sticky with blood and we both looked at the floor, the occasional sob coming from the two of us. Our hearts banged in our chests, and we spent the night that way.
Light streamed in from the window, but we didn’t unlock the bathroom door until noon. We crept downstairs, the kitchen door was still locked and nothing was in the house. I looked out of the living room window, another perfect day. No people walked by, but the sprinklers were on and I could hear birds again. It helped to calm our nerves.
‘That tent can stay there.’ I said at last.
‘Yeah.’ Chris Agreed. We stayed in the living room with the TV off all day, we didn’t know what to do, and talked about if we should call the police or something. The day crawled by as we tried to rake our thoughts together and think of what to do next. but all that went through my mind was what had just happened, not what we should be doing. By the time it was dark at about 9pm, the phone rang. It was Chris’s parents asking if I had seen him as they were getting worried, they had just got back from out of town. I let them know he was ok, and asked if they could come and pick us both up from my house because something had happened. They wanted to know what, but I said we’d both tell them when they get here. They said they’d be here soon. Relief washed over us as adults were on there way to make everything alright. They would believe us, we didn’t lie about these things. Even if they were sceptical, they’d at least believe that some dangerous animal was in the forest and that was good enough for us.
I went into the kitchen to get some juice from the fridge and realised I hadn’t had a drink all day. I could hear water dripping in the sink, so I turned the faucet tighter and glugged some juice. As I headed towards the living room, the water started to tap again. I flicked the light on and realized it wasn’t coming from the sink, or anywhere in the room for that matter. It sounded like it was coming from further away. I looked out into the garden, and could just about see a fuzzy, tall silhouette leaning up against the back fence in the dark. Actually, the tapping sounded more like clicking. The figure slowly moved away from the fence and clicked across the grass towards the house.
‘Pleaaase.’

Theres this albino cat that stares at me through my bedroom window whenever it rains because her ownwers are assholes and don't let her in at night so she's cold and wet and just wants in, but the first time I saw her I was terrified because this white cat with red eyes was staring through my window at like 2 am. Wait, so the end was that Chris ran and made noise so the thing went after him and he died? so the other guy got away bc the thing was occupied chasing Chris?
No. Chris ran so Protag ran after him. They outrun the creature and lock the doors to Protag's house and hid in the loo. In the evening the next day, Chris's family ring to come pick him up and Protag asks to go with. Then Protag sees the creature at his fence out the window, staring at him.
Not even gonna lie this one is SO well written, it gives you just enough to ACTUALLY be scary but keeps just enough unexplained to leave some blanks for your mind to fill in and make worse. And then there's the whole thing with how the title cues the reader in with how at the beginning the whole thing is centered around lights...The FUCKING dread I felt when the narrator asked Chris to turn the lantern off. SO GOOD.
2:03 OMG I'm not the only one who does this! I know he's a fictional character but, I remember regretting the time I DID sleep with my head next to the wall.
I remember feeling so tired with paranoia that I couldn't sleep. A minute or two goes by, and I hear scratching against my door. I turn and say, "Maggie", who is my dog btw. Nothing. I though I had just heard something that was outside but, no. I turned myself to the wall and hear whispering. I was too afraid to turn and so, I didn't. I kept hearing my name being whispered over and over. I turned myself over and saw nothing, that is, until I looked at the edge of my bed. Something white moved rather fast to my closet. In a cold sweat, I had told myself it was just my imagination. But, I kept seeing that every night. I told myself the same thing every time it happened. "It's not real, it's not real." I moved to a new house last year and, I don't see a white figure rushing to the side of anything. Except, I sometimes hear scratching under my bed. I always look cautiously underneath but, nothing.

I like how this story treats the characters and the readers as intelligent. The shining moment for me for this is actually when the main character finds the umbrella under the stairs and straightaway realises the issue, and the author doesn't do that "Hang on, if the umbrella was here, then what was outside?" type of line, it just transitions straight to the yard because it assumes the reader is keyed into the creepy details and is smart enough to notice
