Hi Tamara, just found your channel, now saw your recommendations for kits, I had ordered a kit on Amazon that came with 3 punch needles though all seem to be the same thickness, one was a light blue that you change the length of the loops, but they seem to be the same thickness as the other two in a wooden handle. I was trying to see if I liked it. Can you give me a recommendation where to order monks cloth. Thank you 🌺🇨🇦

Hi Tamara, you said you didn't recommend glueing the back. Does glueing affect the appearance of the project? What about punch needle on clothing? Is glue necessary then?

Hi! I have never done punch needle on clothing as I have only punch needled with yarn. I have also never needed glue as the yarn compresses and holds itself together. If you choose to use glue make sure to use one that will not yellow over time as that will ruin the project. But with punch needle projects using smaller embroidery thread I will admit I am not experienced so perhaps glue is helpful in those cases? What is the project you are considering glueing? I have used elmers glue in my sewing projects but that is something I know will wash off after the first wash.

Punch needle with yarn is best used with monks cloth. Especially when first starting out.

    Hey hope u answer 🥺
So I want to start punch needling and I find it therapeutic. But the problem here it’s find to find monk’s yarn where I live and it’s expensive on online, I found this “ jute fabric “ it’s used mostly for gift wrapping. Do you think it’ll work instead of monk’s cloth?

Hi Sarah. I am not sure if it would work but you can always try. But if it’s too brittle it won’t work.

Check out the description down below as I link to a good online shop called the woolery. I buy my monks cloth from a local craft shop though as I like to support my local stores when I can. Hope this helps!

Oh I love your channel but unfortunately all your amazon links are no longer available. I have tons of yarn because I have my own crochet business but want to begin punch needling and need help finding best stuff.

Thanks for letting me know. I will have to update those. It is best to find a local store for your punch needle fabric but as for the yarn, depending on what you are making you can use almost any kind. Enjoy!

@@TamarasJoyDIY I don’t need yarn. I have a ton. I’m talking about the punch needles mostly.
