They adapt some of Fijian dance move to our Kiribati Dance Move, but they cant change their native language. Those Peoples are originated from the Heart of Kiribati but it good to change some of our Kiribati Dance moves.

They are ethnically Micronesian but were displaced to Fiji some time after the Secind World War.

Come on. Te anaa (singers) are not performing as expected to 'move' the audience, not to mention the Banabans spectators themselves. I suspect that this generation has not gained experience from the 'real dancers'. But I commend their effort in trying to keep up with our traditional dances Please rehearse well so that we Banabasn will not be disappointed. I know that you guys are at USP and you are credited for being intellectuals -but that is only on your field of study. Dancing is a totally different form of study. Please, in the future, make us proud to be Banabans - I wanna boast to my Kiribati friends how good you are but they criticized te anaa because it was kinda flat. I don't want to be ridiculed for your actions. I now work and reside on Kiribati and because of our history I do not want to be reminded of our inability to be like our brothers and sisters from Kiribati., who have upheld their culture and traditions. I'm a big fan of you guys, and I'm hoping to see more well rehearsed items in the future. Thank you all for your 2022 participation.

Thanks for your input. I’ve been to the USP Open Days in 2023 and 2024 and the Banabans performed well. Always so happy and beautiful dressed.
