Why People HATE The Acolyte But Love House of The Dragon

- Leslye Headland and Kathleen Kennedy along with their friends in the shill media want you to believe that the only reason people HATE their new show The Acolyte is because of racism, misogyny, and homophobia. But why then does everyone seem to love HBO's House of The Dragon? A show with strong female characters, LGBT representation, and minorities? Could it be that Lesyle, Kathy, and outlets like Kotaku and The Mary Sue are trying to shield a bad show with weaponized outrage?
Here are five solid reasons why people like House of the Dragon but HATE The Acolyte.

As an adult I bonded with my father while watching a John Wayne movie. Since we're black and he's older I asked him how he felt about the evidence of Wayne's racism. He told me that Wayne's politics don't factor into the characters he creates or the stories he tells. Always stuck with me. By the way, we were watching the Searchers. A movie were John Wayne plays a character with a genocidal hatred of the Apache. The performance was great and I don't believe he was drawing on personal politics to play this racist character. Wouldn't it be great if a storyteller could focus on a quality performance instead of being a delivery system for their own personal politics

I'm seeing Roseanne Barr perform comedy tonight and I have so many acquaintances that are pissed that I would dare support a cAnCeLeD BiGoT...I don't have to agree 100% with someone to enjoy them as an entertainer. I don't need to agree fully with anyone about anything to appreciate them. I grew up loving Bill Cosby's stand up and now my kid loves Bill's jokes too. Has he done terrible things? Maybe. Will I continue to laugh at his jokes? Absolutely. I don't live in absolutes. Anyways, I really appreciate your words. Right on the money!

House of the Dragon gave the fans relief from the disastrous GOT final season, while Acolyte pushed the fans into more disaster.
By just watching the Acolyte you can clearly tell which show is better (spoilers: not the Acolyte)

House of the dragon LEAD actor uses they/them pronouns race swapped a whole family gay rep. And biracial relationships and everyone who watches loves the characters no matter what gender race or identity they have ❤

So insightful. 💯true. The writing is so bad. Ep 1 the Jedi jump immediately Osha is guilty, but they show the audience that there are twins almost immediately so no mystery. Ep 2 Jedi council knows it’s someone else but it’s not communicated to Hord? Why? A Jedi accuses Osha of a murder which is immediately disproven by the Jedi who followed her ? Why? There’s no drama in immediately resolving a situation. How can Osha who has never been to this Jedi Temple find the dead Jedi before the Jedi guide that lives there? So we can have this accusation which is immediately disproven. None of this is gender or race or sexuality related. It’s just bad writing. It makes no sense what story is this? A drama? A mystery? An adventure? It can’t make up its mind
There's a rule in wirting that is even more important than show don't tell. Never EVER put your message before the plot.

Writing, nuance and character development is the BIG difference. The Boys and HOT D do more setting up a scene and a characters by silent facial expressions, how people react to them and by what they don't do. Aemons servants staying off the radar quitely skulking in the shadows apparently scared for their lives tells us he is an unhinged evil person just like how the Seven behave around Homelander.
If Leslie Headland wrote Homelander: " I'm not evil, you're evil." "What did you do?... What did you do."
I haven't seen The Acolyte yet, but the situation reminds me of Shehulk. I do think the issues they talked about should be addressed but bad writing is bad writing. Titania- Shehulk's main villian- debuts by bursting through a wall and it's NEVER explained why. And they completely dismissed Bruce Banner's very real trauma to raise Jennifer's everyday struggles on a pedestal. I'm not saying what she deals with isn't aggravating BS, but he was on the run for years and suicidal.
If modern writers would wanna try..they could watch some miami Vice..man season 1 of it is dstk but had great performances from young ed o'neil.. Bruce Willis..

First off, congrats on the subscription boost. Guess much better than you did first time around in making this channel. Secondly, yeah, I loved the Willow character, not only was she a redhead lesbian, like yours truly, but that wasn't even what defined her character. What defined her character was she was a badass witch that even Buffy had problems with once she was in full power. Plus the alternate universe Willow where she was a vampire was hawt AF. 😉 But yeah, that's how you pull off lesbian witches, not this crap Star Wars is doing. Anyways, congrats again, and thank you, I enjoyed this.

Exactly. There will always be crazies who will lash out from that place, but they take that sliver of people and apply it to all critical reception.

The scores are different because HOD doesn't have the same built in actively toxic Fandom that things like Star Wars and Comic book adaptations have, and you know it... or are you going to play dumb about that too? And I remember the initial reaction. Mixture of disappointment for it not being like GOT and a lot of bitterness over how GOT ended so poorly.
Then we see huge praise for HOD. Huge. By people that were skeptical at first and even by some that were negative.
The one thing the Acolyte seems to have going for it are people that want to blame its poor reception on immutable qualities of the actors cast in the roles. And not the poor writing and story that is making everyone wretch.
