I just wanted to mention that while I was making this video, I passed 1000 subscribers, which I was super super thrilled about! So I just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who has subbed, or left a nice comment, or shared a video, and to say that it really really means a lot to me! ❤ Enjoy!

First, you're making good content so you deserve it, second, thank you for keeping the game alive during the wait for the update. Thanks for the content again.
Little mistake at 14:42 the wishbone comes from the 3rd boss bonemass but it's okay.
Another idea of video : maximum different trophies in 31 in-game days ? And little rule would be museum built during the time limit for a good display.

Okay, here's the thing: I came here expecting you to beat the challenge with bare minimum effort input in addition of some loopholes here and there.
You proved me wrong entirely: You gave it full commitment. This was very entertaining to watch, the simple yet comfortable amount of editing, and may I say, captive storytelling without resorting to smalltalk nor prolonged silence.
Oh and here I am blabbing the obvious, I digressed. What I meant to say was, you have earned my sub!

wearing a glowing item like draugr fang or even porcupine increases your visibility range when sneaking - so when sneaking with a torch in your hand, it will probably increase your visibility by quite a range - haven't tested.
Aside of that, this was a nice surprise: probably the first non-instructional valheim vid i ever enjoyed!

I definitely feel like you could have succeeded, if you didn't make the raft mistake with the elder and just ran to the swamp to get iron using the stag detector method.
But you know what? Good on you for sticking with it, even though you failed. Most would have gone through and re-recorded their gameplay until they got one where they completed it, and after a while you start to expect the end of the video instead of wondering if they are going to succeed or fail.

This was a really neat challenge. I loved the editing and little drawing of the village. The choice of music and pacing of the video all works perfectly to create a relaxing and entertaining piece. I really loved this, it was such a cute little challenge video, which is a nice change from most of the content I find for most of the games I love to play lol.

  • @werinter

Killing the Elder was one of the hardest thing in this game for me. I was not completely familiar with all the game mechanics, all I cared was building and so I wanted to use stone for my houses. So I had to kill the Elder to obtain the sunken crypts' key and have be able to mine some iron. And yeah, then came an even harder stage in the game: finding a swamp. In my world literally all the swamps were extremly far from my starting point. So I had to sail, but in order to sail I had to build a ship. And finally I came across my first swamp.. but there were no crypts. The swamp was increadibly challenging because I was still a newby. So I constantly died. I tried sneaking, using heavy armor, fight from range with a bow etc. And when I almost gave up, suddenly I came across a muddy scrap pile out in the open. It contanied two scrap iron and I finally was able to build from stone.

I must admit it was one of most pleasing gameplay videos I've seen! Normally I wouldn't sit throughout half an hour and watch, but this was pleasing experience - great edits with some idea behind it, subtle humor, no childish and cheesy lines, a new quality, really. I relaxed with your video and I just realized I need more of such things. I will watch your career with great interest.

Valheim is a slow-burn masterpiece. I can say with 550 hours under my Megingjord, that skill expresses differently from other games, specially as a single player, where careful planning, knowledge and methodical progress is necessary if you don't want to be in corpse run most of the time. This is a very impressive challenge. Odin be praised. Well done.

  • @Laiynnalaiynna

this video truly is a work of art, it shows your love for the game and I had a great time watching it
19:25 it was actually the tree. whether it was always a myth or it was changed a long while ago, for muddy scrap piles the greathammers now always display 0 damage, while for silver they display 'too hard'. I have done 'no boss' runs recently and you want to find those 0 damage numbers. those are either stones or muddy scrap piles and most stones are above ground (or ancient tree stumps, which is why you don't have to cut down any ancient trees when doing this, so they continue to display 'too hard')
but it's an easy mistake to make seeing as there are still very recent youtube tutorials about looking for 'too hard' messages which then justify how far away the 'too hard' message was from the scrap pile by saying "just having to dig around a bit" similar to your experience, when the 'too hard' message is actually right on top of a tree and there is a 0 damage message right on top of the scrap pile. this being the exact opposite of how it works for silver where you actually DO want to look out for 'too hard' messages probably adds more to the confusion
I'm excited for some mistlands content at some point. I'm going to play the update with my fellow vikings first but I liked and subbed

If you get adept at speed-running the mountains, you can get a few iron bars from frost caves in the first few days of the game. Also, in a moderately-sized swamp, there are about 50 to 100 muddy scrap piles in the swamp, but many are below water level or buried right underneath the base of an indestructible tree.

Speaking of being thankful for no skill drain...
So, For where I’m at as gear is concerned, I’m about ready to take on the Elder, so bronze/troll armor. I decided I was gonna do a little more exploring of my starting island, see what I’m working with besides just Meadows & Black Forest. Grab some basic stuff, and off I go. As I’m exploring the Meadows, I happen upon the base of a Mountain biome. Yay! I decide to build a small camp, to serve as a resting spot, storage, and something to expand on when I’m ready to tackle that mountain. I have the basics, workbench, fire and a bed with enough roof coverage for shelter. Night’s coming, but I’m in the meadows, not mountain, so I decide to continue working on the cabin. One of those werewolf things spawns in the distance. I get curious. Give em a sneak attack with my finewood bow and some fire arrows. Does decent damage, so I figure I can take it. Took it out relatively easily with the bow and clever maneuvering, but was surprised at its speed and attacks. So, do I take the hint? Do I take the warning that I should sleep until morning? Naaaaa. So, continue working on the cabin. I run off about 50 meters or so to grab some wood, when I hear them. Wolf pack, 3 of em, and they spotted me. I hi tail it back to the cabin, run up the roof, and get to work with the bow. I get one of them, then *fall through the hole in the roof I have for the smoke to escape* . Now panic is beginning to set in as the other 2 wolves continue hacking away at my cabin door. I figure, screw it. I have a shield and lvl 3 bronze axe, so I’ll use the door as a choke point and *maaaaybe* I survive this. Lolz... the 2 wolves break the door, I raise my shield, but boy do they hit *hard* at this point, as I’m super under leveled for this. I get staggered, then killed almost instantly after.
Good thing I used that bed to set my spawn point, right?... right? So, for the next minute or so, I watch the remaining 2 wolves friggin spawn camp me at the bed, instantly taking me out the moment I spawn back in. Eventually, I took the cowards way out, and force quit the game. When I opened it back up, I spawned at my base, with all my inventory. The map still had the mountain base revealed, and when I got there my little camp hadn’t been built yet.
I can live with that. Lol.
Moral of the story: be super careful when discovering a biome you ain’t ready for. Oh, and SLEEP... lol.
For real though, I’m loving this game so far. (just got it on Xbox) and having fun discovering all the content creators out there. Like Embr, who’s detailed breakdowns on things like fishing have helped greatly.

I know it’s a lot of work to make these videos but yours are by far my favorite and I wish there were more! (Not me pressuring you for more, meant as a compliment 😊) I like how much detail your explanations contain and enjoy the silly blooper asides 😂. Would you consider a video just about the way you like to do things in the game? Such as your preferred layout for a base and how you build and decorate it, or how you like to farm farm and what your process is for breeding and culling animals efficiently (you mentioned in one of your videos about chores so I assume you play with others so what your guys do to split the load intruigues me). Going about continuing play once all the bosses are beat etc. Ways to keep enjoying it. This is a great example for a way to get creative. I just really like your content and looking for ways to get more 🤭😅 I’m always curious how people like to do things in their world and since I like your videos it would be even better to see! Thanks Embr!

Noticed the way you looted the chest at around 21:57 that reminded me of a shortcut which also took me a while to realize, and maybe you didn't yet know at the time of recording but do now: you can ctrl+click items to quick-stack/quick-move items from one side of two simultaneously opened inventories to the other. So for example right here you could have ctrl+clicked the flinthead arrows and flints to quick-stack them into your inventory, and do the same on the feather to quick-move it to the top-most inventory slot on your character.
Thought I'd just mention it here to help out fellow vikings such as yourself!
And who knows, maybe it could have even helped you complete your challenge on time ;)

So I literally was just telling my boyfriend that I was restoring a draugr village, and of course google heard me. But I'm glad it did. This was a great video. I don't think you got an F though. 3/4 small buildings, cleared all draugr and spawns, and restored 85-95% of all of the longhouses? Personally, I'd think AT WORST that's a C+. Not a 100% Success but for a challenge where you improvised as you went through? This was amazing to watch. On top of that, getting a seed that has a Draugr village and swamp on spawn island? I get terrible luck on my randomized seeds and get little to know Black Forests let alone swamps

I really enjoyed this. You have more courage than I do taking on draugr in deer skins. You got lucky with the bone pile, sometimes if the swamp is next to a hill or something the piles are partially uncovered along the slope. I look forward to more videos. Cheers!

This is an awesome challenge, and very well done video. Major props! I'm kind of surprised how quickly you found a draugr camp. I just started a "Dwarf Run Challenge" where I am trying to beat the game without being able to build with wood, with doors being the only exception in the build tab. I can build all crafting, misc. and furniture items, but restricted in the build area. reused a character with swiped/ empty inventory, no cheats/mods. it was a rough start, very rough start lol, but 2 bosses down and things are going well now that my HQ is under the Elder platform. Keep up the cool videos!

Well done! I would've never gotten that far. I'd consider this challenge won. Was great fun to watch. Looking forward to more Valheim content.

Incredible stuff. Great editing, great story telling, charming and well narrated. The entire thing comes off like the journal of an experienced adventurer, Valheim couldn't have a better advertisement.

I appreciate how you kept the "-r" after Embr tradition from other words in valheim as Embrr and draugr

This is brilliant! This is the second video of yours that I've watched, and the first one was one of your guides, so I don't know if you have more videos with challenges like this, but I sure hope you do because I loved this! I think I subscribed within three minutes! Really well done!

First, you are so much better then me, sure I have cleared a Draugr village before. But doing it with minimal equipment to me seems really hard. What happens a lot to me is I fail, then Draugr get out and form into a group and then any attempt to return leads to another death of me. Like I get hit by two archers at the same time and I end up face down in the field again. Watching your success and ability to escape from a group and still kill them. I sure could use you and a few others as a teacher. Again nice run, I should check out more of your videos.

You'd need a full scientific calculator to count my deaths if I tried that... Amazing job! 👏
