    The book of Hebrews, Romans and Galatians really helped me on my journey out of the Hebrew roots. Especially the book of Hebrews. There is a reason a lot of Torah teachers say things like "Hebrews is hard to understand" and "Hebrews has been translated poorly" it's because deep down they know the book doesn't fit with their theology so they have to deny the plain reading of the text. Great job, keep it coming.

      I have read your comments referring to these books. So its not been deleted. As you state, these books are empazing to stay in the law of Moses, I completely read them differently. Christians are not required to keep these laws. According to my glasses we are free in Christ to keep the Sabbat, the Feasts, and eat kosher, however do not put it as a claim on yrself and other believers. It is suffocating. Thats what I see whats happening and what happened in Pauls days. Behind his back they confused the Galatians to keep the law. Torah observers should focus on those who do not know Jesus and explain the freedom in Christ properly.

    I get that as Christians, we should try our best to avoid sin and do good works to show love etc, but isn't telling everyone that if we do have genuine faith, we should have works to prove it, the same thing as saying "if you are saved, you will have works." Thereby, causing some to look to their works to see if they are saved? The same thing as saying salvation is therefor by works? It's like the calvinists say "salvation is indeed by faith alone, but faith is never alone." OK, salvation is by faith alone, but you're telling me if I'm truly saved, ill have works? So now I must look to my works to see if I have true faith to see if I'm saved?
    I'm not saying we shouldn't have works or anything. I agree we should. But I think telling people that if they don't have works then their faith isn't genuine enough to save them is just as harmful if not worse than "works salvation." Because it sounds like "works salvation" albeit more subtle and less recognizable. I understand there are those who pretend. Like judas. But I would think that would be up to God to judge if they are truly a sheep or a goat and not for us to decide. I just know as I used to Be, I truly believe in jesus and what he did for me. And I was told I was saved. But i just didn't see works in my life, and then a calvinist told me that since I couldn't see works in my life, it meant my faith wasn't genuine. That caused me anxiety really bad and so I started forcing myself to do works to "prove" I had genuine faith. It put me in a bad spot and that's how I fell into legalism. It took years and God's discipline to finally recognize what was going on. To me "salvation is by faith alone, but faith is never alone." Is the same thing as saying salvation is by works. It's just a more subtle and sneaky way of saying it.

      ~ Romans 4 : 15

    • @TheBiblicalRoots
      @TheBiblicalRoots  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi, Harry! Actually, John tells us that "Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is _lawlessness"_ (1 John 3:4). The book of 1 John doesn't discuss the Torah or the Law of Moses anywhere. And this text says that sin is _lawlessness_ (ἀνομία); meaning rebellion, disobedience, living as a law unto ourselves rather than submitting to God (see Deut 9:7, 24; 31:27).
      For those under the law of Moses, breaking that law was sinful, of course! But sin is much bigger than that. In fact, "sin was in the world _before_ the law was given" (Rom. 5:13, see Gen 4:7; 13:13; 18:20; 39:9). So if we merely define sin as a transgression of the Law of Moses, then Adam and Eve never sinned, because they did not break any of the Mosaic commands.

It is that fulfillment that you legalists don't understand. Okay, I'll bite!
      No.
      No.
      Yes.
      As I read Gal. 3:10, it seems Paul is drawing on Deut 27:26 and 28:58 to show that _every_ person who relies on works of the law-whether Jew or Gentile-is under the curse of the law. That curse stands in direct contrast to the blessing of Abraham that comes to those who trust God-including Gentiles (Gal 3:6-9). In other words, Paul is deliberately contrasting "men of faith" with "all who rely on works of the law." Generally-speaking the first corresponds to the Christian and the second to the Jew. But for Paul, it seems the categories correspond to the only two ways we can possibly approach God. We can either approach Him based on (a.) His grace through faith or (b.) our merits. And in Gal. 3, Paul is saying that Abraham is the father of the former (faith) and the Judaizers were championing the latter (works).

      So let's intelligently consider your answers.
      No. You were never under the covenant of law.
      No. You were never subject to or obligated to keep the Mosaic law.
      Yes. Although never under the law you were cursed for transgressing the law you were never under and somehow redeemed from a law that was part of a covenant of law you were never part of.

      No. I've never been subject to or obligated to keep German laws.
