Rep. Lucy McBath, D-Ga., spoke out during the Dec. 11 Judiciary Committee’s markup of the articles of impeachment, saying “I am forced to face a solemn conclusion--I believe the president abused the power of his office, putting his own interest above the needs of our nation,” with that, she said, “I must vote my conscience. And I will do so with a heavy heart and a grieving soul." McBath also spoke about losing her teenage son to a shooting death, and shaping a country that her son would be proud of.
